49ers place Pashos on injured reserve

Tackle Tony Pashos gambled when he turned down a pay cut from the Jaguars, hoping that he could make more money elsewhere as a free agent.  He lost that gamble, accepting a smaller deal from the 49ers.

The 49ers lost their gamble too Tuesday when they learned Pashos would miss the season with a broken scapula.  Pashos was placed on injured reserve and will be replaced in the lineup by Adam Snyder, who Pashos usurped earlier in the season.

Last year's second round pick Chilo Rachal will move back into the starting lineup at guard, a move that doesn't bode well for Alex Smith's pass protection.

The 49ers also announced they have released linebacker Marques Harris and promoted linebacker Diyral Briggs from the practice squad.

    Tony,
I love to say this to you as a Jags fan: Karma is a M-Fer isn't it? You could have took a pay cut and earned more money in Jacksonville than in SF. And the best part about it is you would not have even dressed for a game this year so you would be injury free right now. Oh well. It is time to start your political career I guess. You and Boselli can run for county dog catchers here in DDDDUUUUUUUUVVVVVAAAAAAALLLLLLL!!!!

I have never seen a Jacksonville fan talk S#!% before. Maybe your team should be investing more money in your O-Line instead of driving them out.

Too bad on Pashos, but the JAGS fans talkin smack... your team is on the way out of town. Can you say L.A. Jags? You sound like the rest of the loosers in the south. Try going to a game so your team is not blacked out all season.

Meh let him be, he's a rare Jags fan. Even more rare, he's a Jags fan who's happy about something.

the people who say LA Jags and mock jags fans, will be the first in line to say the LA Jags get to much play on espn. So i dont know why other teams fans want them in LA since it is the second largest market what do you think there going to talk about on all the major nfl tv shows? Its just going to bump your team down one more segment. Im all for the Jags move to LA and I am a Jags fan. I would like my team talked about more.

I'm not knocking you, but I don't get it "Karma is a M-Fer". You act like the guy done something wrong, like he cursed the team or something, like he was a lockerroom cancer. All he did was refuse to take a pay cut for an opportunity to start elsewhere and make more money. Why are you happy to see a guy get hurt for that?

If your job asked you to take a pay cut and you thought you could make more at another job what would you do? You're acting like the guy is hitler or something.

Come on Jag fans, the guy broke his shoulder trying to play good football.

Show some class or keep your mouths shut.

Dont be skumbuckets (if at all possible)

As a Jag fan I look at this situation as just another great move by our new GM. He moved out two subpar OT's (Barnes and Pashos) and replaced them with talented rookies (who both start) that will be the cornerstones of our O line for years to come.

Hate to see guys getting hurt, but it is just a part of football.
