Jeff George scored a 10 on the Wonderlic……a 10!! That’s Dexter Manley territory. The upside to having George would be the possible mano a mano steel cage match w/ Cable. It would be entertaining to see him take a beatdown from Cable.

Speaking of low Wonderlic scores, did someone actually suggest bringing in Jeff George? George couldn’t read a defense any more than he could read a newspaper – great locker room guy & highly coachable to boot……NOT! Hell, why not give ol’ Todd Marinovich another try. I’m sure he’s available.

Before the season even started … Cable told the media … “it’s time for JaMarcus to show what he has and take it to the next level. I would bet my last dollar if Cable had a choice … JaMarcus would NEVER have started the season as the #1 QB.

That is why there needs to be a rookie pay scale for real! Unproven commodities making millions and the do not deserve it.
The NBA has the best system in place, the NFL should follow suit quickly. Remove the power from the agents. After 4 years, then let’em renegotiate. Fresh out of college what is there to negotiate, come in – prove yourself and then you get a pay raise.

now Tom Cable is making execuses…gimme a break, put Peyton behind that o-line and he would suck to.
First play of the game inside your own 10 yard line and let alone call a pass play, but you are going to call a deep ball pass. Are we surprised that he got sacked because the RT got bull rushed and ended up on his you know what.
On the other interception the OLB came in untouched, in a matter of less then two seconds. I think Russell was trying to just reach the line of scrimmage and avoid the sack.
My point is you can draft all of the skill position players you want, and if there is no o-line they will all be a bust. That goes for TRussel, McFadded, and Darrius “bottom” of the Bay.
Plus why does cable have to throw on every first down?
It’s time for Al to call Bruce Allen and make him the GM. He can bring a friend back to coach as well.

On the team’s first play from scrimmage, Cable dialed up a deep ball. And Cable said that, despite days of preparation, Russell didn’t get the offense lined up properly, he ignored the check-down option when the deep routes were covered, he took a sack, and he fumbled the ball.

he should be at TE or OG. too slow to play a skill position or DE. and cant hit what he “aims at” with the ball.
another one game wonder with a big contract. overpaid. massively.
he wont be in an apartment. a park bench is more like it. or digging a hole in the park.

rangersleadtheway, what is YOUR problem? you related to Russell? 24 is ok, not good, just so you know. Russell sucks, he has no clue on the field and their are 32 backups who are better than him. He is the biggest bust since Ryan Leaf. he makes Tim Couch look like a Pro Bowler. As Cleveland Brown would say, he is “turrible”. If the Raiders had Jeff George, they would be so much better off, and i am typing this with a straight face. Also, has anyone noticed how many busts are coming out of LSU? People talk about USC(which is a load of crap because they have stud players all over the NFL), but these LSU guys cant seem to take it to pros. Russell was 50 pounds overweight in college, scouts didnt pick up on this? I just dont get it. How could a guy this bad get picked so high? When are these “experts” going to start getting it right when it comes to qb’s? It makes me think that the so called experts know just as much as I do.

One more case for a rookie salary cap. The owners want it. Most of the veterans want it. The union doesn’t want it.
I guess enough talented vets haven’t yet been given the heave-ho in favor of a rookie free agent making the league minimum.

It seems to me that during a real game Jamrcus fogets all of the thing the coaches taught him. And the things he does in practice, such as check downs. Maybe he gets nervous during real games.
I’m not joking or anything, I’m really curious how he would do in the UFL. At this point if the light doesn’t eventually go on for his kid and the raiders cut him, I don’t see another team picking him up so playing in the UFL or CFL might be good for him cause maybe he will calm down and actually go through his progression, and throw balls away instead of taking sacks or throwing INTs.
