Jackson leads NFC award winners

When ESPN’s Jon Gruden said Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson was recording “more explosive plays than anybody in NFL history,” he was barely exaggerating.

After recording two more long touchdowns Monday night, Jackson was award the NFC Player of the Week award Tuesday.  Jackson has four touchdowns over 50 yards this season, and five plays over 50 yards overall.

The Defensive Player of the Week went to Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson.  The long-time leader of Arizona’s unit record five tackles, two for a loss, with an interception and two passes defensed.

Dallas’ Patrick Crayton won the special teams award just one game after losing his job as a punt return because of a fumble.  Crayton took over for an injured Allen Rossum against the Falcons and returned a punt 73 yards for a touchdown.

I’ve never seen a NFL player run as fast as Jackson during that end around. Maybe it was my TV, but that was bonkers.

Yeah it wasn’t barely exaggerating, it was a gross overstatement.

Thought Chilly was going to take Jackson in the draft. Could you even imagine?AD, Harvin,Berrian and Jackson? Be like the 4×100 relay team. Harvins faster than Jackson though.

D-Jax deserved it. He kicked ass. And not to mention he scored more than every player on my fantasy team combined except for Aaron Rodgers (I lost)

While he certainly deserved the award, let’s remember this was against the ‘Skins… Gruden is just trying to get a response I suppose. That or he’s never seen players like Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, and Walter Payton.

Granted this comes from fantasy football crap but can anyone explain to me how the entire viewing audience saw Adrian Wilson recover that fumble yet two days out the NFL still thinks it was Matt Ware?

  8. Outsyder says: Oct 27, 2009 7:18 PM

He actually has 5 TDs over 50 yards.
    3 catches, 1 rush, and 1 punt return. 4 of the 5 over 60.

No Matter what the post, dip$hit PervyHasbeen has to throw up a post about how a Vikings player is more adequate. I would not touch Percy Harvin before Deshaun Jackson, and if you want a rundown of their stats on the year Im sure I can run rampant on that. This world would be better if you werent in it.

Percy harvin is fast but not faster than desean Jackson!! This guy had the greatest field speed I’ve ever seen!! A lot of guys run fast 40 yrd dash time but don’t look the same on the field, desean Jackson does !!! Btw desean Jackson ran a 4.35 @ the NFL combine and Percy harvin a 4.41 (I’m just stating the facts) . Please everyone don’t hate on the lil guy

    DeSean Jackson!
If only McNabb could throw a pass between “60 yard bomb” and “basketball bounce pass” DeSean would also be a clear frontrunner in the “best WR in the NFC” race.

    “..against the Skins…”
actually the skins have a pretty good D. It’s there offense which is hopeless.

The best receiver in the nfc is Fitz. Sorry.

  15. PervyHarvin says: Oct 27, 2009 8:07 PM

@ Eaglemania – You are right about the combine. You can find 4.34 to 4.24 on harvin also with a search, who knows?? They are both fast dudes, all I know! Love jackson.
@ Purplegaystalker – You don’t shit about Harvin assclown! I can’t wait until he runs one back at Lamblow Sunday so all you dejected Favre lovers can cry in your cheap beer! Vikes 38 Pukes 10

True story: I once saw DeSean Jackson run so fast, that he actually went forwards in time relative to everything else (except light, of course), causing his dropping the football in the end zone in his timespace to look like he dropped it before he was in the end zone in everyone else’s timespace.
Or maybe that was just a good Bob Wier solo I’m thinking of???

Gruden thought Vick’s 4 yard pass was very exciting too.
Johny Knox is faster than Jackson, but barely. Knox isn’t a little b*tch who is scared to catch a pass over the middle either. Only if the Bears had an o-line…

    That’s a little harsh to say. It’s just football…

@ rcunningham – Thanks man. Let you in on a lil secret. Just look at his username. He is “lacking” something some where that has him mad at the world. Right ‘Lil” man??LOL

Not to be Greedy but Will Witherspoon had a better game then that and I know this b/c you guys told me so.
He had 8 tackles to Docketts 5
They both had 2 tackles for a loss
    they both had an interception
    Dockett had 2 pass defenses
    but WitherSpoon had a Sack
    WitherSpoon had a Forced Fumble
    And WitherSpoon had a Touchdown
You guys be the Judge and tell me who did better Dockett or WitherSpoon.

DJac is a small, fast, tough, sure-handed showoff. The only question is which of those traits will win out.

Just because your mom has a thicker mustache than you does NOT make her a tranny. And I can’t help that she sends me all these nudes. I don’t even want them, she’s more hideous than you.
