Ramsey gets a try out

When quarterback Patrick Ramsey was cut by the Titans earlier this season, many folks expected that he would re-join the team quickly.

That has happened, but my fellow class of 2001 Tulane graduate did try out with the Buffalo Bills Tuesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.  The Bills could be looking for depth at the position with starter Trent Edwards unavailable this week with a concussion.

Ryan Fitzpatrick will start at quarterback as the Bills try to even their record at 4-4, but he's largely struggled to move the ball despite helping to engineer two straight wins.

Too bad Ramsey's last name isn't Fitzryan.

hey why not bring in Brooks Bollinger? He's having a helluva year leading the Tuskers offense! Or maybe they can convince Jake Plummer to come out of retirement...

Seriously though, I don't understand y they didn't trade for Vick. At least then they'd have bottoms in seats and surely no one would try to break into his house for fear of the dogs. Seriously though, if you're willing to take on TO, and his melodrama why not take on Vick? Everyone loves a winner...

So Titans fans, where is your head coach going to coach next year?

I think his wearing the Colts jersey last week was a message to the owner.

Go figure what that message was.

Hey Patrick, the Redskins need a QB!

Fitzpatrick has been playing quite well in his two games. Hopefully, for Bills fans, he can continue it.

They need to get TO involved in the offense a lot more. It will open up everything. Easier said than done, but it needs to happen.

Cmon Bills, give Jeff George a call.

Don't fall for it, man. We did when Fitz was in St. Louis and he brought the team back in Houston when Bulger got hurt (yeah, that time he got hurt). I knew Buffalo fans would jump all over him when he came in and got a win. You need to remember he got traded from the Rams to Cincy and then got beaten out for the 3rd QB spot by Jordan Palmer there. I promise you, he's not the answer.

Ramsey's better than either Edwards or Fitzpatrick.

Florio went to Tulane? Hmmm, I didn't know that.

I suspect that he spent countless hours "studying" at The Boot.

    Huh Florio??

Umm Florio didn't write this article. Hint: At the top, there is a name of who posted it. Good job college guy.

Edwards, Fitz and Ramsey.... that's almost as scary as our Tight End trifecta of Nelson, Fine, and Schoumann... with sidekick Stupar.

Hey Beudy, you say "I don't understand y they didn't trade for Vick. At least then they'd have bottoms in seats". Take a look, we don't have a problem fillin the seats in B-lo, even with such a $h!ty team. The fans up here are some of the best in the NFL. It'll be a shame if there's ever a chance of this team leavin town cause the fans support their team as good or better than any in the league.

NFL Spin Zone: How has Fitzpatrick been playing well? He's 21/47 for 239yds, 2 TD's and 1 INT *IN TWO GAMES*. Pretty lousy numbers. The Defense won both of those games, that is if you don't want to believe that the Jets and Panthers handed those games over.

    rgott28 - Florio, Rosenthal - same thing!

Apparently I spent too much time at The Boot! - BTW: they have the cheapest pitchers in NO.

  19. Gregg Rosenthal says: October 28, 2009 6:12 PM

I also spent too much time at the Boot ... freshman year at least.

A few observations from a the view of a Bills fan
    1) To whoever said Vick would put people in seats...the Bills already have people in the seats. They're not struggling to avoid blackouts. They have sell out on gameday.
    2) Fitzpatrick isn't doing that hot. Statistically, he's playing worse than Edwards. Mentally, he is playing better. The O-line isn't doing the run game or the offensive flow any favors. I do say I like the number of downfield attempts that have came about the last 6 quarters. It's just too bad Fitzpatrick couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.
