Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer led his team to a dominating win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday, and as his reward he's been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Palmer completed 20 of 24 passes for 233 yards, with five touchdowns and no interceptions on Sunday. The Bengals cruised to a 45-10 victory.
You don't often see a quarterback finish a game with more touchdowns than incompletions, and according to the advanced stats at FootballOutsiders.com, Palmer was the week's most productive quarterback.
It was the best game of the season so far for a quarterback who was plagued by injuries last year but is now as good as ever.

I had an out of body experience during this game. Can't remember a more completely played game by the Bengals offense. Beautiful.
Fantastic game by the Bengals in all phases.
The Bengals first 6 drives looked like this:
TD, TD, TD, TD, FG, TD
The Bengals didnt have their first punt until midway through the 4th quarter when Palmer was standing on the sideline watching the second string finish the game.
It's good to see Palmer back to his old ways, but I have been most impressed by his mobility in and out of the pocket the last few games. Palmer is deceptively fast - he ran a pretty quick 40-yd at his combine - but his ability to evade the blitz never seemed to be a part of his gameplan until recently. It's good to see him moving in the pocket and throwing short, medium, and long passes, hitting his spots and airing it out.
crex43 is right about the mobility. If you look back at his USC days, that slipperyness was a huge part of his game. I suspect he was told that they didn't want him to scramble and wanted him to sit in the pocket. remember we had just gone through the Akili Smith years. The speed of the game made Happy Feet run for his life every other snap. I think Carson finally put his foot down with Bratkowski and got the lease loosened up a notch or two.
I really wish I saw that game, who fnished up for him?
Is his little brother/backup any good?
schism, JT O'Sullivan (our FA replacement for the departure of Fitzpatrick) finished the game. I don't know whether you would call him any good or not, he was pretty terrible last year, but he had a good pre-season, and I would venture to say he is better than Fitzpatrick at any rate. Carson's brother blows, big time.
Right game wrong player. C Benson should have gotten it.
