Jake Reed disputes report of Orlando Thomas' death

Former NFL receiver Jake Reed, a teammate of former Vikings safety Orlando Thomas, has posted multiple messages at his Twitter page indicating that Thomas has not died.

News of Thomas' death came to us via the Vikings' official web site.

So we'll be taking a closer look at this one.

Thomas has been suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease since 2004, a typically fatal condition.

UPDATE:  Reed's Twitter account isn't verified.  But if someone opted to make a phony Twitter account, we'd like to think they'd do it for someone other than a mid-level wideout who has been out of the game for several years.  Then again, maybe that's the genius of it.

    Looking for hits Lord Florio?

You can update other blogs with new info, this would be better suited for an update and/or change of title of the blog.

I dont get it you take time to make sure dumb things are correct before you post them but you will just say someone died b/c you read it somewhere.

Conventional wisdom would agree. I have a cousin that died from ALS, but I know of at least one man that has halted the progression of the disease, and in fact is recovering. His name is Eric Edney, and he first started showing symptoms in 1990. His book is a very interesting read.

Unless he is getting paid to spam those links.
