Finally a feel good story. Thank you Mr. Vernon Davis.
It is good to remember Walter Payton.
His struggles with poor Bear teams and final Superbowl victory is a great NFL story.
Walter is the best running back in the history of the NFL. Not only could he rush the ball but he was a great blocker and pass receiver. He even threw the ball well on the halfback option.
For years he was the only weapon the Bears had and they would run him up the middle of the offensive line. In all hisplaying days he never got injured, in part to his great flexibility.
It is sad that the NFL reacted so negatively to his contract with the Bears that gave him a small ownership stake in the Bears. Such contracts are now against NFL rules.
Walter was a good man, a great player, and fine representative of the Bears. Some people are so good God calls them home to be Him early.
No one can say a negative thing about Sweetness.
BN,
Paton WAS a great player, but if you think he was better than Jim Brown, you’re dumber than we all thought.
