Cardinals catch an extension, too

So with three straight wins since the bye week and an impressive effort in the Meadowlands against the Giants, Cardinals fans are back on the bandwagon, right?

Not quite.

The Cardinals have yet to sell out Sunday’s game against the Panthers.  They’ve obtained an extension to move the final 1,000 or so tickets.

So if the tickets aren’t sold by 4:15 p.m. ET on Friday, the game will not be televised locally.

And that might be good news.  Per the Arizona Republic, the league apparently has at some point in the recent past changed the rule prohibiting the broadcast of another game in place of the blacked-out home game.  If true, Phoenix-area residents can stay home and watch the Vikings and the Packers.

Hey reader of posts….check out the story from the Canton Repository (Ohio) about two fans’ attempts to get our voice heard. It’s worth reporting and Browns fans want this out there I’m sure.

Amazing, with all the little birdie logo’s and flags flappin from the car windows here in Phx., you would think they could sell out the game…
Cheap ass band wagoners… show your “support” and buy a ticket you cheap ass wanna be “FANS”

It would be far easier for me in Northeast AZ to watch the Vikes on TV instead of trying to find a stream online!
Hate to say it, but here is hoping no one steps up and buys the rest of the unsold tickets!!!!!

    Golden_Niner:
Us “band wagoners” really don’t want to go see Jake Delhomme throw 5 more pics and the Cardinals rolling.
And for the record, wannabe is one word. And band wagoners isn’t even a word. Go back to supporting that intellectual giant Michael “The Diva” Crabtree

Plus, all you fans haven’t noticed the Chargers face this almost every home game with the most promising roster in football every year.
Also, don’t you just see a screen that says the game is blacked out? Not another game? I know when we are lucky enough here for a Charger game to be blacked out, we don’t get to see the Raiders game, but just a blue screen that explains the black out and the whole black out area.

OR you can go get a job(they took our jobs!), pay for DirecTv NFL Sunday Ticket with Superfan(Supersham, if you ask me), and watch BOTH games…
War me never buying a ticket to a football game. How player is that man?

    Public financed stadium.
Travel to Phoenix – stadium tax surcharge on hotel room, everything at the store and even strip club cover charges. It even shows as a separate “stadium tax” on receipts so they can rub it in.
Can’t blame the fans for not buying tickets when they are constantly paying for the stadium.

Actually Florio I’m looking forward to more info about if the league has changed the rules concerning showing abnother game during blackouts.

Whether it’s on or not, cards will win. So what’s the difference? I was pissed when I saw we weren’t going to get the vikings packers game on tv here in AZ. But if we get that, great. If we get the cards…great. Either way, Vikings and cards win. Now I just have to wait and see which game I see. Makes no difference to me. I’m a long time cards fan and a long time Favre fan. Just like Florio.

If you’re going to use an article, use it all or at least use most of it. FLorio cherry picked what he wanted about this article. Did he mention this part?
“The Cardinals continue to enjoy the largest local TV ratings increase in the NFL through the first seven weeks of the 2009 season.
The Cardinals’ victory over the Giants last Sunday night had a 25.6 rating and 40 share while reaching 480,000 households, according to the team.
All six Cardinals game have ranked as the most-watched television program in the Phoenix area.
Cardinals game broadcasts have averaged a 21.1 rating and 38 share this season while reaching an average of 394,000 homes.
That is an increase of 35 percent over the same period last year, the largest increase in the NFL”
Of course not. But I’m sure he meant to. So I listed it.

    Phreakin:
Quit using the public library to jump online and trash talk. Get a real job, or A JOB for that matter and go buy a ticket.
Also, if you are such a grammar expert, your little incomplete sentence over there made no sense, “go see Jake Delhomme throw 5 more pics and the Cardinals rolling.”.
Lastly… blow me phuktard cards wanna-BE fan

Like many in this comment section those of us in Tucson are also hoping they don’t sell out.
I’m sure local TV will buyout the tickets because of the local ratings though.
