Favre, Rodgers are limited in practice

As the Vikings and Packers prepare for Part Two of the Brett Favre Non-Revenge Revenge Tour, the two starting quarterbacks at the center of the drama are dealing with injuries.

Both Favre and Aaron Rodgers practiced Wednesday on a limited basis.  Favre has a hip injury — Rodgers has a bad foot.

Surely, both will play on Sunday.

Three starters missed practice for the Vikings on Wednesday:  receiver Bernard Berrian (hamstring), linebacker E.J. Henderson (knee), and cornerback Antoine Winfield (foot).

Winfield reportedly has a broken bone in his foot, and he’s not expected to play before November 22.

Also, linebacker Ben Leber (calf), cornerback Karl Paymah
(quadricep), and fullback Naufahu Tahi (knee) practiced on a limited basis.

For the Packers, tight end Jermichael Finley (knee), safety Derrick Martin (hamstring), center Jason Spitz (back), center Scott Wells (not injury related) missed practice.

Tackle Chad Clifton (ankle), linebacker Clay Matthews (jaw), tackle Mark Tauscher (knee), cornerback Charles Woodson (hip), and defensive end Jarius Wynn (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis.

Minnie blows, Green Bay out ranks their whole team.
Offense: GB is #8, Minnie mouse isn’t in the top ten.
Defense: GB #3(that’s right), and the great Minnie defense we hear so much about(hahaha) isn’t even in the top 5. They suck!!!
GB has been blowing out opponents that Minnie barely squeaks by to beat.
Soon we’ll own the one stat that truely matters, W’s & L’s. Hahahahahaha, Minnie mice your pathetic!!!!

You are wrong. Go look at the official NFL rankings for the division. It says the Vikings are in first place followed by the second rate Packers.

  7. BCNUCS says: Oct 29, 2009 8:56 AM

Not a Packers or Vikings fan and I know that isn’t true. GBP is a funny guy. LOL Packers offensive line leave Rodgers out to dry, most sacks taken in the NFL thus far.

  8. Twiz says: Oct 29, 2009 9:11 AM

Another stat conveniently left out by the (fudge) packer fans.
Rodgers leads the league in getting sacked, both with and without a healthy O line.

Of course both teams are gonna baby these QBs this week leading up to this game, dinged up or not. God forbid one gets too dinged up to play…the NFL would mess their britches.

  11. JimmySmith says: Oct 29, 2009 9:47 AM

They didn’t mention Favre’s bruised vigina, somebody report that to the league’s front office.

  12. Vikes-N-Favre says: Oct 29, 2009 9:57 AM

Absolutely funny how you pathetic ass Packer fans think your team is great. This is aimed at GBP who had the first annoying post on this topic, its not your fault that your mom and dad are brother and sister and you are the result of normal Wisconsin inbreeding, but to say that our team is pathetic who are 6-1 (should be 7-0) dismantled your team just a few weeks ago, and absolutely beat the shit out of that retarded looking, cross eyed QB of yours.
We have a better record, we have more sacks as a defense, we have less sacks allowed on our QB (by the way your pathetic OL leads the league in sacks allowed) and we have the better redzone numbers on offense, and we have a better turnover ratio on defense.
Plain and simple, the Vikings are better and they will prove that again this Sunday when they shred the cheese for the 2nd time in a month.
    SKOL VIKINGS!!!!!!!!

  13. purpleguy says: Oct 29, 2009 10:09 AM

Favre was moving just fine at practice, although the injury to EJ is a concern (maybe that’s why he’s stunk all year). Other than the fact that the stat comparisons are posted by a cheeser (probably the same dude that predicted a Super Bowl after the marvelous pre-season), I just don’t get the pre-game trash talk after the Pack has already been resoundingly bounced once by the Vikes. The Pack has to win this game just to keep up — the Vikes don’t. This game ain’t make or break for either team, particularly the Vikes.

  14. Supersuckers says: Oct 29, 2009 10:10 AM

You are a embarrasment to the Minnesota Vikings fan base.

  15. NFLJunkie says: Oct 29, 2009 10:20 AM

The Vikings will lose this game and show everyone who they really are and how overrated they are.
Not only should they be 4-3 (miracle win against SF and a makeable FG missed against Baltimore), but they also struggled to beat Cleveland and Detroit until Adrian Peterson carried them in the second half of those games.
A couple of interesting stats. Aaron Rodgers has the #2 QB rating in the league despite his O-Line not doing squat for him, and they are #2 overall in the NFL on defense while the Vikings “vaunted” defense sits at #23 overall. Interesting huh?
Why won’t people face that the Vikings are the most overrated and overhyped team in the NFL? Anyone who thinks they will do any damage in the playoffs is delusional.

  16. A-ROD says: Oct 29, 2009 10:20 AM

    Here’s to Vikes-N-Favre
Really?? Should be 7-0? What a joke. Pitt beat you. Balt missed a FG to beat you and Favre’s last second miracle to beat SF. More like should be 4-3!!! Yes i agree GB’s O-line is not good, but look at the numbers A-ROD is putting up with that line. Even with that line, he is gonna shred your seconday this sunday! 300+ and 4 td’s!!!

  17. Flvikesfan says: Oct 29, 2009 10:20 AM

Wow what a delusion bunch of idiots the packqueers fans are, and GBP is the poster child for these halfwit, inbred douche bags. How can anyone make the nonsensical comments that flow out of tiny little minds? The Vikes beat the living HELL out of Alice Rodgers a few weeks ago and the same is on tap for this weekend!! Bring that fake confidence into this weekend’s game and you can all curl up beside Ted Thompson and have a group cry as the Vikings destroy a team that should be competing with Detroit for the first draft selection next year. Final score Vikings 34 – Packqueers 10, Alice Rodgers is sacked 5 times with 2 picks.

  18. Chickenfoot says: Oct 29, 2009 10:21 AM

    Swain and Nelson = out
    Finley = Long shot
    Clifton = Doubtful
Tauscher = No game action in about a year
Green = When did he last play?
Offense at full strength couldn’t muster a win, nut a team now with depth problems on offense is going to automagically be better?
offensive line gives up 4.25 sacks a game.
Lat time these 2 teams played they gave up NINE!!
Oh yeah I forgot, that’s just technique, and they shutout the Brown on sacks…lol
Maybe they can use those 3 fullbacks they have been carrying all year!

Check your stats, the Packers have a better turnover ratio.
Even though Rodgers sees the turf a little to much, if that was Farve he would be out of the league with that many hits

  21. Bones22 says: Oct 29, 2009 10:42 AM

Lets also not forget the teams that the Packers have beaten; bears(3-3), browns(1-6), lions(1-5) and the rams(0-7). The bears should have beaten them but that is history. I hope Favre destroys them. LETS GO VIKINGS!!!!!!

  22. metric system DJP says: Oct 29, 2009 10:42 AM

My, my. How refreshing to start my day by reading material written by 5th graders (some from both sides). At least it makes the rest of my day (working with teen boys in a group home) seem like I’m dealing with adults.
This is a big game for both teams. If the Packers lose they would be two games out and would lose the tie breaker. If the Vikings lose they would still be in first place (tie) and would just be even in the head to head tie breaker. Should be fun.

  23. Chickenfoot says: Oct 29, 2009 10:45 AM

    Purple guy:
I’m a Vikes fan. Henderson is leading the team in tackles with 55, griffin is 2nd with 43.
Just how exactly does that stink?
He has 1 sack, only because they are getting pressure mostly with 4 lineman.
Could you define stink for me?
This is a huge game for both teams.
Pack wins they are even with us for 1st.
It’s bigger for the Vikes. If they win, they have virtually a 3 game lead ( with the head to head tiebreaker).
A loss essentially relegates the Pack to shooting for the WC.
    Huge, huge game.

  24. jdigga420 says: Oct 29, 2009 10:54 AM

Aaron Rodgers is the most overrated QB in the NFL. It’s not that tuff to rack up a bunch of yards and TD’s when corners are playing 20 yards off the recievers because there team is up 21. What is his win loss record 10-12 losses. T-joke have a better winning percentage. Sorry buddy your Fudge Packers are a Joke we will find that out on sunday.

  25. Ambrose says: Oct 29, 2009 11:02 AM

Huge game indeed. Much more important to GB than MN. The Vikings are good enough to recover from a loss but the Packers have a very difficult schedule to come back 2.5 games with nine to play. I feel very confident the Packers can prevail on Sunday. There a lot of factors working in their favor, home field, natural turf, excellent talent, Favre trying too hard.

  26. sand0 says: Oct 29, 2009 11:07 AM

I don’t understand why Packers fans are so high on their team. They finished last season 6-10 and haven’t added anybody significant. This season they have played 3 teams with 0.500 or better records, two of them at home, and they went 1-2 in those games and only beat the Bears because the Bears beat themselves essentially. In the other two games against good opponents, Cincy and MN, they looked over matched quite frankly.
We’ll see on Sunday I guess. Traditionally these teams play close games and the home team wins, so I give y’all a slight edge. Then again, the Vikings aren’t always this much better of a team either.
I look for All Day to make Green Bay fans have to look away.

  27. VoxVeritas says: Oct 29, 2009 11:11 AM

  28. wangchungish312 says: Oct 29, 2009 11:12 AM

Stats are nice for those who care about fantasy football but my Packers need to start finishing games against QUALITY OPPONENTS (no offense to my fellow PFT readers who are Lions, Rams, or Browns fans), something we have been lacking so far in the Aaron Rodgers era. The o line needs to play better. Aaron needs to recognize the kind of protection he is getting and get rid of the ball quickly, the quick slant is a staple of the west coast offense use it! We have WRs that are very capable of taking a 10 yard slant for 6 but we continue to look for these slowly developing vertical pass plays with a “Baby Swiss” o line. Ryan Grant needs to start playing like someone worthy of the contract he was given last year. Also the team as a whole needs to be more disciplined and commit fewer penalties. Our signature win this year is against the 3-3 Bears, were were 6-10 last year. All that said we are very capable of competing with anyone in the league but I don’t just want to compete I want to win. Go Pack!

  29. danlinker says: Oct 29, 2009 11:32 AM

All these long posts are not needed. Vikings are better than the pack and will win again at Lambeau. Enough said.

  30. GBP says: Oct 29, 2009 11:33 AM

    @ bones22
its funny how you act like gb isn’t proving anything bc they are playing teams like Detroit, st louis, and clevland. But what’s funnier is that you fail to mention that those are the same teams Minnie mouse has played. What’s even funnier than that is that unlike Minnie mouse the pack manhandled those teams (Minnie mouse was losing at half Time for most of those). Wait, wait funnier still is the fact that Minnie mouse has only beaten one team with a record over .500; and go figure it’s the Pack.

  31. Fan_Of_ Four says: Oct 29, 2009 11:38 AM

No school today in Green Bay or is GBP just one of those children who got left behind ? Favre has played on that field for 16 years so this is just another home game him. Karen Rodgers will be picking the tundra turf out of his face mask repeatedly.

  32. Majik Man says: Oct 29, 2009 11:38 AM

The Vikes shouldn’t be 4-3, they shouldn’t be 7-0, they should be 6-1, which is what they are. Yes, they got jobbed by the refs in Pitt, but who doesn’t? That game is over, as are the Ravens and SF games.
(By the way, funny how Packer fans call the SF game a miracle, when Favre pulled that same miracle for you 50 times with no complaints, and you received your own miracle win with the Vasher slip.)
The Pack may have the #3 D, but everyone watched Minn hang 30 on them, with Chilly letting off the gas after 3 quarters. Your 4 wins come against teams with a combined 5 wins. Very impressive.
I honestly cannot believe I used to be a Packer fan. I truly hope I never sounded as incredibly stupid and ignorant as the majority of Pack fans posting on here. You have a slightly above average team, and you act like undefeated Super Bowl champs. Ignorance like this is why we Wisconsinites are depicted as fat, stupid morons. Just stop it, you’re embarrassing the rest of us.

    ahhhhhhh
good old typical PFT forum….lots of name calling and feeble attempts at getting points across..
bottom line. this game will be close. for all you vikings fans who would love to believe that your team is a wrold beater, they aren’t. they are a good football team who has cought 2 breaks, and missed one. if we want to talk about the way things probably or easily COULD be, the vikings would be 5-2. two wins in the last 30 secs or so, and one loss with a questionable call tied to it(nevermind the fact that your beloved all day couldn’t get in from the one yd line)…..
the vikings are good, but they are by no means a lock to win this game.
the packers are also a good team, and have warmed up against two really bad teams the last 2 weeks. this game(like every mn/gb game) will be a close one. unless favre decideds to throw 3 picks, then the pack could romp.
the pack win this game, thee is a REALLY good chance that they are tied with the vikings @ 6-2 after the vikes bye….. THAT is how close this division race still is, even after minny going 6-0!

  34. DocBG says: Oct 29, 2009 12:06 PM

you fudgepackers are hillarious. you think because you ran the score on a detroit team that had a HUGe number of starters out of the game that you are suddenly the best team in the league?
Win, lose, or tie, the vikings are still in first place. I sincerely hope that favre is back in the league soley for revenge and the vikes score about 7 touchdowns against the packers and that the stands are empty by about the 2nd quater. Nothing would make me happier. The funny thing is, even if that happened you imbred morons from GB would STILL be on here saying that you are the best team in the league and the vikings suck. Why don’t you pigdickers call some people in minnesota and see if you can borrow their life for a day just so you know what its like to have one?

  35. NFLJunkie says: Oct 29, 2009 12:08 PM

The Vikings are definitely overrated, how can people not see that? They should be 4-3, period. Yes they are not, but you can’t find those defeciencies come playoff time.
They have the 23rd ranked defense in the NFL. They needed 2nd half heroics from Adrian Peterson to beat Cleveland and Detroit. Yes, Cleveland and Detroit.
What’s also funny is those 2 games are the only 100+ yard games of the season for the supposed “Purple Jesus”. How come nobody brings that up? Other than those two big games, he would be in the middle of the pack with rushing yards.
Face it, this team is overrated and will be overmatched in the playoffs. Favre will start his yearly decline and we can all put this stupid hype to bed.

As for that 23rd ranked Defense, they beat the shit out of the Packers and were off to the races. Regardless of whether the Vikings ALMOST, or SHOULD HAVE lost 2 games this year, we didn’t and thats football, teams can win at any time and if you don’t believe that you’re and idiot. We absolutely DOMINATED the Pittsburgh Steelers defensively (cept for one 40 yard TD pass) But again, we lost, no excuses. I love how Packers fans refer to the Vikings win over the Ravens as complete luck. As if the entire game was a rookie kicker lining up a 46 yarder in a hostile environment with his leg twitching.
Remember the Vikings had a big lead after absolutely dominating the Ravens for 3.3 quarters. The Ravens were extremely fortunate to get such big plays in such a short amount of time, defensive collapse or not.
Yet we were somehow lucky? They were lucky to even be in the game at the end, albeit due in large part to Minnesota letting off the gas too early and being down two corners and playing a safety in the slot.
The SF game. Again focusing on one play. They had a blocked FG for a TD (10 point swing). That is a bigger fluke than Favre completing a 30 yard TD play in my opinion. Vikings dominated the game statistically and deserved to win in my opinion. They had to get lucky at the end but had missed on a lot of opportunities for that to even matter in the first place.
Bleh. We’re 6-1 and it is what it is. The Vikings have a lot of firepower and are improving every week it seems. A win this weekend and the division is practically sealed. A loss and the vikes will still win it anyways.
    We’re happy with out team.

@Majik Man–here’s s list of Favre’s 43 miraculous moments. He’sreally only puuled off one miracle where he threw a winning TD on the last play of the game –for the VIKES.

Hell, he gets credit for a 4th quarter comeback when they win in OT.
Just curious, when did you become a nonPacker fan? Were you a Jets fan last year?

Now I know why I took four weeks off of coming on this site to read.
    Man is this stuff sickening.
Also GBP, WOW, where do you get your stats?
Nomatter what you, me or anyone else says on here, it wont change the outcome of Sundays game.
Greenbay has more at stake, more pressure, but home field, and thats huge!
Its going to be an awesome game, cant wait, Im already consumed by the sports channels on it.
This PFT site loves us to fight and it makes me sick, I am done with it.
Beercheesesoup will be happy, I used to enjoy reading his stuff but hes turned into the bitter pack child also.
    Go vikes!
    oh yeah—-
    THIS IS OUR YEAR!!
    THIS IS OUR YEAR!!

I have no restraints in beliveing that is your account you created. You often lack witty things to say. By sitting at the computer and ripping on whomever gives you the opportunity, distracts you from how miserable your joke of a life is. Carry on with you non sense rants and raves, you’re only amusing yourself.

  55. Majik Man says: Oct 29, 2009 6:26 PM

Yes footballrulz, I did root for the Jets last year. I’m a Favre fan, and can’t bring myself to root against him, and I definitely can’t support a team led by Ted Thompson.

  56. footballrulz says: Oct 29, 2009 6:34 PM

OH, & Majik Man–sorry I misspelled pulled and I meant possibly, not possible.
@ BigSkye–You are correct about the outcome of the game. No one will truly know until about 7:30 Sunday night–man will there be some smack going down on Monday

  57. footballrulz says: Oct 29, 2009 6:54 PM

Damn Majik–you’re gonna go broke buying all those jerseys ;)

  58. Mulva says: Oct 29, 2009 7:36 PM

Not surprising that so many Vikings fans are so volatile. They live in the gay mecca of the Midwest and are trying to hash out their feelings between always wearing purple and their strong desires to give both Favre and Peterson a trouser friendly mouth hug.
I also love that fact that Viking fans don’t understand why Packer fans back up their team win or lose. That’s called being an actual fan. Not just showing up with a loud mouth when they’ve got a winning record. You’ll never see empty stands like in Cleveland at Lambeau even if they play like the Browns.
A lot of Packer fans on this site need to shut up themselves. I was born and raised in GB (live in Chicago now) and I would love to punch most of you “fans” in the throat. Most Packer fans aren’t as classless as they portray us on here. I also know that most Viking fans aren’t as mentally void as represented on here. I’ve gone to many many games and have never had a negative experience with visiting fans, even Bear fans.
The game will be close, just like the last one. Go Pack!

  59. Majik Man says: Oct 29, 2009 7:59 PM

I’ll be alright. I can buy plenty of jerseys with all the money I used to spend on tickets to Lambeau and $8 beers while there.

You so harsh meathead. My life is great thankyou! Look above, footballrulz got my humor! Too bad you lack his brains and class! Now excuse me while I go talk ball with some one who knows it! Your sh*ts weak!

“The Pack may have the #3 D, but everyone watched Minn hang 30 on them, with Chilly letting off the gas after 3 quarters. Your 4 wins come against teams with a combined 5 wins. Very impressive.”
Really? 4 of your wins came against teams with a combined 2 wins while luck got the Vikings the two other wins.
The Vikings are extremely lucky to be 6-1 because take away Favre’s pass against the 49ers and the missed field goal against the Ravens and you are at 4-3.
Just because the Vikings won the first one doesn’t mean they will win on Sunday. and don’t get your hopes up about Favre because I gurantee he will not put up the same numbers he did in the first game.

We have the #3 defense? Really?? How did that happen? Is the rest of the league that bad?
Pack4life, Your ignorance is forcing me to defend the god damn Vikings for the third time this week, and I HATE doing it. Oh well, here goes.
Your entire argument is based on coulda, shoulda woulda. In other words, DIDN’T. It doesn’t matter if you win on a missed field goal or by 53 points, a win is a win is a win. You say they got lucky (and they did with the missed kick, but the pass play against the Niners wasn’t), but the same argument could be made that the Steelers only beat them because the refs gave them the game (again).
So, you’re saying they would be 4-3, and a lot of other people are saying they would be 7-0, and they’re both equally irrelevant statements. They’re 6-1. It doesn’t matter at this point HOW they managed to get those six wins, or the one loss, they have them.
You’re right about one thing however. Just because they won the first time doesn’t mean they’ll do it again. I don’t think Favre will have the same numbers either. I expect to see a lot more Peterson run plays called now that we won’t be making the same mistake, stacking the box against him and leaving Rice and Berrian open all game. We have a shot, but any Pack OR Viking fan that’s guaranteeing a win is ignorant. Anything can happen.
I do think the Vikings are still the better team though. “You are what your record says you are”-Parcells, and 6-1 is impressive whether you choose to call it luck or not.

  63. PervyHarvin says: Oct 29, 2009 10:12 PM

@BeerCheeseSoup – Good evening! Nice to see you chime in. Coulda, shoulda, woulda is perfect! Like the Vikes were 1 minute from beating the Steelers but oops! shit happens! No team is exempt.
Never does a first victory mean anything. The past. Any given Sunday was such a truth. I do agree that you that you will see more AD. Remember that Favre was getting to know the receivers in the first games, now he throws all over. Sure the Pack will not overlook Rice now as you said. The Pack corners were arrogant in the first game.
One thing is sure,we as fans are lucky to be a part of history. This is maybe the biggest hyped game in NFL history. Will be good. I can’t wait!

  64. PervyHarvin says: Oct 29, 2009 10:24 PM

@BeerCheeseSoup- Pardon the you will see more AD typing error lol Let me clarify that this may be the most hyped regular season game. Can’t leave my guts exposed for the PFT vultures! lol

    _____________
Just curious as to which 4 wins you are referring to, stat master. The Lions, Rams, and Browns have a combined 2 wins, but that’s only 3. Every other opponent has 3 or more wins. I look forward to this explanation.
You saying the Vikes being 6-1 is lucky would be like me saying the Pack’s 4-2 record is luck. If Cutler doesn’t throw 4 picks, , if Kyle Boller could have thrown 3 more TD’s, if the Lions still had Barry Sanders, and if the Browns didn’t hire Mangini as their coach, the Packers could easily be 0-6.
Yes, homer, that is how ridiculous you sound. Even your fellow Packer fans are calling out your stupidity. The reality is this: Minn is 6-1, GB is 4-2. Minn beat GB, and it was not as close as the score would indicate. And, more than likely, you won’t be heard from on these posts for a long time after Sunday’s game.

You make a good point Beer Cheese Soup. A win is a win and that is what the Vikings have been doing. What I said might of been a little over the top because none of it can change. What happened, happened.
I just get annoyed when Viking fans think they will automatically win on Sunday just because they beat us in the first game. I think the game would be much, much closer and the Packers will be far more prepared. I think the Packers will win, of course but I am in no way leaving the Vikings out. Either way, both teams are very good teams despite the record difference and I can’t wait until Sunday.
    Packers 31
    Vikings-28.

They have excellent prescription drugs available for your bipolar disorder. In one post you rant like a moronic lunatic, then after being showed up, you come back calm and collected, and actually make a little sense (although you failed to acknowledge my post and tell me the 4 teams you were referring to).
I never once said the Vikes would automatically win, I just stated that Minny is a lot better team than Green Bay, which is hard to dispute.
I’m just glad that people like BeerCheese exist, it gives me hope that there are a few Packer fans left with an IQ over 40.

Okay, now tell me, what’s the difference between a Viking fan thinking they’ll automatically win, and a Pack fan thinking they’ll automatically win??
Any true football fan knows the “any given sunday” principle. This is being billed as the game of the decade (which I personally feel is a bit much, but still). It ain’t Pats-Bucs. Anyone thinking they know what’s gonna happen is either 12 years old, a homer, or both.

First off, I wasn’t necessarily referring to you when Viking fans were saying they will automatically win on Sunday. Secondly, that was a mistake on my part about those 4 teams. What I meant was three. It was a honest mistake.
and I never said the Packers will automatically win either. I said it would be close but in my opinion, I think the Packers could pull it off.

  70. Majik Man says: Oct 30, 2009 2:27 PM

If you weren’t referring to me, then why did you have my quote in your post? Also, those 3 teams you’re talking about, they account for 75% of your wins. So while trying to discredit Minn, you’re actually making GB look a lot worse. Nice job.
