Tahi "surprised" Harvin didn't practice on Thursday

A couple of weeks ago, Vikings fullback Fahu Tahi told Todd Wright of Sporting New Radio that receiver Percy Harvin’s undisclosed illness at the time resulted from migraine headaches.

This time around, Harvin’s sudden appearance on the injury report with an “illness” is sparking speculation that Harvin is suffering again from migraines.

But in an interview that will air during the Friday night edition of Todd Wright’s show, Tahi didn’t say that Harvin has migraines.  Instead, Tahi said he was surprised that Harvin “wasn’t out there today,” and that Harvin “had gotten those migraines taken care of.”

Per Rick Alonzo of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, coach Brad Childress says that he expects Harvin to return to practice on Friday.

The last time Harvin missed practice due to migraines, he missed both Thursday and Friday.

  1. Migraines come back. You’re never cured of them for good. You can do stuff to minimize them.
As for the media’s attempt to create controversy for the Vikings, you fail in your attempt.

  2. How exactly does one get migraines taken care of, to the point that they don’t come back? I thought that you have to manage migraines, and there’s always a threat they come back…

The Vikes, under Chilly’s everwatchful eye, are starting to come apart.

Ummm…care to back this up? With Anything? Even a lie?

  4. Man, Viking fans went through a horrible time when Corey Stringer died. I hope Percy can get the medical help if this is a serious as it seems to be.

  5. His use of medicinal marijuana to treat his migraines causes him to miss days he is due for “random” testing. Nothing mysterious about that.

  6. 23 receptions for 285 yards and 2 TD’s in 7 games. Wow, this guy is a player!
Let’s not mistake a great rookie receiver (Desean Jackson) to a good kick/punt returner. Let’s reserve some of the excitement about this pothead.

  7. I can bet if harvin does great this year they will bring back my guy culppepper, he si certainly better choince then brett favre but i do like favre, my frinds at purple-pride.com would agree culppeppr is our guy and harvin will catch alot of his balls.

  8. It is unusual to be cured of migraines, although they can be reduced in severity and frequency. At Harvin’s age and level of activity, it seems unlikely that they can do anything but lessen the severity.
As long as he stomps some cheese on Sunday, everything’s fine with me.

  9. My dadis the bartender at the 90’s downtown minnaepolis he said he heard from a guy that heard from another man who said his cousin knows harvin will be there, he also says that harvin should go to hall of fame foresure so thats a nice thing too, i might pick up a couple jersey cards when Vikes go to superbowl this year, Im just wondering who the Vikes will match up too in superbowl this year. I think it will be maybe the Eagles Mcnanb is pretty good, the guys at my favorite site pride.com say he is over-rated but he is good I no that much, hes good on madden 10.

  10. thats all that Tahi is could for, playing doctor. can’t block, can’t run, and when he catches the ball, it 1 yard and done.

  11. Tahi needs to stop doing radio shows, stop worrying about Percy Harvin, and focus on being a better FB.

  12. Fix the friggin log-in!!!!
NBC is a huge company, you’d think they could have one of their many IT Nerds fix it?

  13. This is ridiculous. After getting spanked for pointless speculation about Harvin, Florio has resorted to indictment by quotes– “illness” must be code for drug-related incident. “Journalism” at its finest. Why not wish Harvin well and enjoy the play of the most exciting Viking rookie since Peterson.

Is this jimmy, “secret agent” bob nelson, hydra, or someone else not mentioned? It’s clear what you are trying to do, its not intelligent nor original, so move along and trying using some fact to knock the vikes (oh wait)

  15. hauschild and leatherneck lost all internet cred when they insisted Brett Favre didnt lay down for Strahan’s record setting sack.

DeSean Jackson’s rookie year: 62 catches for 912 yards and 2 TDs in a pass-first, pass-second offense with no other wide receivers. Pretty good, no doubt, but hardly great, especially with the lack of 6 pointers. Also…let’s wait til the end of the year and see how many times Harvin negates a touchdown by tossing it over his shoulder before crossing the stripe. Something tells me DeSean’s 1-0 lead there is safe.

  17. DocBG says: Is this jimmy
It wasn’t me, I do not frequent the bars of downtown MPLS (which has a high percentage of gay establishments, nothing wrong with that, its just that it is more than a mere coincidence that gay bars and viking fans are mentioned)
Considering the week the Vikings have had, Percy should feel fortunate that people are speculating on his illness rather than his funeral arrangements.

  18. I hate to be a critic of your work Florio because I love your ariticles, but you have Tahi’s name wrong. It’s Naufahu Tahi, not Fahu Tahi.

  19. I have suffered from horrible migraines for several years, and it’s not something that just goes away. That being said, I think Florio is making something out of nothing for the sake of getting hits on the site. Everyone that has anything to do with football is trying to milk this week. Fox said there will be a camera on Favre from the moment he walks out of the locker room to the moment he walks back in for crying out loud! Vikings vs. Packers is the biggest moneymaker in sports this year, and anything that has anything to do with it will be reported.

Yeah, good luck to Harvin. Hope he gets better, migraines are tough. It’s kinda difficult to catch all the Loadholt highlights when there’s rarely ever a camera on him though. I remember him singlehandedly blocking six guys and almost keeping pace downfield with Peterson on that one 64-yard run, but that’s pretty much been it. Tough to “enjoy the play” you don’t see.

  21. Who cares what Tahi Says?
The man is an over-paid stiff who does nothing but make mistakes and get stuffed when he tries to run the ball.
He ought to shut his mouth. He’s going to be unemployed next year anyway. Assuming Childress is not blind and can see the guy can’t play.

  22. migraines suck, and they don’t go away. it is something percy will have to deal with the rest of his playing career.
you can mitigate them to some extent by your fitness levels, diet, what you do, etc…. but you can’t ever completely get rid of them.
sounds like this fullback is an idiot.
harvin has always been on the injury report, and then he goes on to score a TD in one way, shape, or form. Percy will play i’m sure, and he’ll probably burn some defenders. 🙂

Yeah, 6-1 falling apart. Wishful thinking on a packer fans part.
