So with the Titans benching Kerry Collins and going with Vince Young at quarterback, the question remains regarding whether coach Jeff Fisher made the decision -- or whether the decision was made for him by owner Bud Adams.
Linebacker Keith Bulluck suggested Thursday that the decision didn’t come from the head coach.
"[T]o me, the outside looking in, it looks like Jeff’s hands were tied in this,” Bulluck said, per the Tennessean (via Sean Leahy of USA Today). But we’re a team and we are backing whoever goes out there. We are ready for Jacksonville.”
But, again, it’s not like the Titans will do any worse with Young. They lost 59-0 the last time Collins lined up under center, and they’d lost eight games in a row, dating back to December 2008.
We’ve got a theory as to why Fisher would prefer to stick with Collins, and it’s spelled out in item No. 7 of our weekly SportingNews.com 10-Pack.
