Glazers are not on the Madoff victim list

A few of you have made an astute observation in the wake of the Thursday controversy involving WDAE radio and the owners of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

WDAE morning host Dan Sileo said that a “friend” with the Securities & Exchange Commission told him the Glazer family had lost more than $400 million via the Bernie Madoff investment scam. The Glazers strongly have denied that contention.

And so, as those of you who made the astute observation pointed out, the Glazers either were victims of Madoff’s scam, or they weren’t.

As it turns out, they weren’t.

The victim list published by the Huffington Post does not include anyone named Glazer (not even FOX’s Jay Glazer, who gets most of his investment advice from kings . . . and queens, jacks, and aces).

And so WDAE wisely has issued a retraction. Sileo’s ultimate fate with the station has not yet been determined. Currently, he’s on suspension pending further investigation.
