Jay Ratliff lands on Cowboys injury report

The Cowboys made a late addition to their injury report when coach Wade Phillips announced Friday that defensive tackle Jay Ratliff hurt his right knee during Thursday’s practice.

Ratliff didn’t practice at all on Friday and is listed as questionable after an MRI revealed a sprain, according to the team’s web site. The injury doesn’t seem to be all that serious, a Cowboys source told Matt Mosely of ESPN that he’d be shocked if Ratliff didn’t play, but Phillips wasn’t certain of his Pro Bowl defensive tackle’s status.

“There is slight swelling,” Phillips said. “We did an MRI. We think it’s something that will get better. How quickly is the question.”

Ratliff has two sacks this season and leads the team with five tackles for losses. Junior Siavii would start if Ratliff is unable to play, and the veteran has done a nice job this season even though he spent the last three seasons out of the NFL. He’s not Ratliff, though, and the Cowboys defense would lose one of its most productive players if he’s missing against the Seahawks.
