Detroit Lions rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford appears to be healthy enough to play on Sunday, but wide receiver Calvin Johnson’s status is up in the air.
Tom Kowalski of MLive.com reports that Stafford has taken all the snaps with the first-string offense during the portion of practice the media can watch. So it’s looking like Stafford will start against the Rams.
Johnson, however, is still nursing a knee injury and may not be able to play. John Niyo of the Detroit News reports that Johnson was jogging on the sidelines rather than participating in wide receiver drills.
Both Stafford and Johnson are expected to be listed as questionable, and coach Jim Schwartz -- who tends to play things close to the vest on the injury front -- is likely to call both game-time decisions.
Stafford started the first four games of the season but has missed the last two. He has completed 79 of 139 passes for 894, with three touchdowns and six interceptions. Johnson started the first five games of the season before missing Week 6. He has 22 catches for 325 yards and one touchdown.
