In a move that will garner slightly less attention than the Tennessee Titans’ switch at quarterback, the Titans have made a change on kick returns as well.
Tennessee has signed former Jaguars return man Alvin Pearman and placed returner Mark Jones on injured reserve. Pearman signed with the Titans today and could play against his former team when the Titans play the Jaguars Sunday.
Jones was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury he suffered in practice last week. Jones’ agent says he thought he’d heal quickly enough to return this season, and he’s disappointed to be out for the rest of the year.
“It’s going to be a 4-6 week injury,” agent Brian Levy told Jim Wyatt of The Tennesseean. “He’s disappointed. He thought it could help there and he did for a while.”
Jones, who has also returned kicks for the Panthers, Buccaneers and Giants, has career averages of 23.5 yards per kickoff return and 9.3 yards per punt return. Pearman, who played just one game in 2008 and hasn’t played at all this season, has career averages of 22.4 yards per kickoff return and 8.6 yards per punt return.
woah… at first glance, I read that as “Titans sign Pacman Jones”
at this point, their secondary could use him.
Alvin Pearman? LOL!!
The titans are desperate.
At this point in time, it may as well be Alvin and the Chipmunks….
