The Buffalo Bills will be without two defensive starters Sunday when they take on the Houston Texans.
Starting safety Donte Whitner and starting defensive tackle Kyle Williams have both been ruled out, the team announced today, joining quarterback Trent Edwards (concussion), fullback Corey McIntyre (knee), tight end Shawn Nelson (migraines) and right tackle Jonathan Scott (ankle) as players who won’t be able to go for the Bills.
It’s particularly disappointing for the Bills that Whitner hasn’t been able to stay healthy this season. He missed weeks 4 and 5 because of thumb surgery and then suffered a bone bruise in his ankle in Week 6 that will now keep him out for the second straight week.
The Bills’ other starting safety, Bryan Scott, is doubtful, and so George Wilson and Jairus Byrd are expected to start for at safety for Buffalo.
Bills cornerback Terrence McGee and defensive end Chris Kelsay are listed as probable for Sunday.
