The Redskins officially ended tackle Chris Samuels' season Saturday, placing him on injured reserve.
The move was expected, but Samuels' future remains up in the air. Initially, there was a report that Samuels was set to retire. Samuels has since confirmed that the decision to play again has not been made.
ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted Saturday that Samuels has personally told Redskins owner Dan Snyder that he definitely wants to try to play football again.
It just won't be for Jim Zorn.
UPDATE: "Several physicians" have told Samuels he risks paralysis if he continues to play, according to the Washington Post. Samuels will meet with a specialist in December or January before making a final decision.

I have a lot of respect for Samuels. He's one of the best Redskins players ever. But, he needs to call it quits. Why risk paralysis for another year or two?
Football ain't worth it.
He was just waiting to get put on IR. If he retired he might not get paid for the year, this way he does. He'd be a fool to try to play again and risk serious injury.

That's just like telling your kidnapper, "If you let me go, I promise I won't tell anyone..."
I want to play again too.
Cool!
Just what the Skins need is another broken down old player, past his prime, taking cap space so Vinnie can claim "all the pieces are in place."
Go Chris......it's not worth it. Especially with this sorry ass team that will continue to be a sorry ass team for many years to come.
Maybe you can get a loan from Fat Albert?
