PFTV looks at the coming quarterback carousel

As the season hits the midpoint, the bad teams are now considering whether to make changes at quarterback.

And if things don't improve soon for the crappy teams, the coaches charged with figuring out what to do at quarterback could soon be on the wrong end of a decision regarding whether a change will be made at the job they occupy.

PFTV looks considers the dilemma that several possible soon-to-be-former coaches are facing regarding their possible soon-to-be-former quarterbacks.

You know what I really do not understand ? When QB's falter Head Coaches often get taken down with them. Why isn't some of the blame put on the guy that brought these less than stellar QB's into the League ? Coaches get 2-3 years of a grace period to turn crappy Teams around but GM's get to linger on. Now some Coaches are really terrible and they should be replaced but once again it's the GM's that make these decisions as well. When your Team or QB is void of talent how the hell do you expect any Coach to succeed ? Being a GM is almost as good as being a Senator or Florio, you can make mistake after mistake and still keep your cushy job.

Brennan is on the roster but is on IR...not the practice squad.

Jason Campbell and Vince Young are the victims of bad coaching.

Derek Anderson might develop into a decent quarterback with good coaching.

Brady Quinn has bad intangibles, but a little trade value for the Browns.

The Panthers made a big mistake in giving Jake Delhomme that contract. His career is over. Now Delhomme will not retire, and the Panthers won't be able to trade him. The Panthers are just going to have to eat the contract.

Jamarcus Russell is probably a bust. Florio made a great point that he doesn't care about being a good quarterback.

Trent Edwards has too weak of an arm for windy Buffalo, but he might prosper in Carolina.

I would guess that the Titans will clean house, and that Kerry Collins will be on a new team next year.

Michael Vick will probably be on a new squad next year.

Brooks Bollinger will be back in the NFL soon.

After it's impossible for Brady Quinn to take 70% of the snaps this season he will be the starter again. Anderson will play the Bears game and probably the Ravens game. Then Quinn will get the final 7. And if he stinks it up through those 7 games then the Browns will probably get rid of both of them and bring in someone else. Doubt they would look at drafting a QB though. There's a hand full of guys they could bring in to play a year or two.

The number of poor QB's in the league means Brett Favre can keep playing for years.

The vikings coach would be on the hot seat if not for Brett Favre.

Some teams are just desperate for a competent QB.

Some like Tampa Bay and Oakland have made stupid decisions that have really hurt their teams. Imagine Jeff Garcia starting either place and they would not be NFL bottom feeders.

While giving up on good QB's like Kurt Warner has proven to be foolish decision. Pig headedly sticking a lousy one like the Redskins, Raiders, and Jaguars has proven costly.

GM's should be more on the hot seat than coaches. GM's hide their mistakes by firing coaches.

i say the Redskins and Rams and maybe the Raiders take a high draft pick for a quarterback, those three teams will pick up Tebow, McCoy and Bradford......the panthers i see trading for Quinn, Russell signs as a free agent somewhere, Anderson will stay in a Browns uniform and the Browns will draft talent to put around him, Campbell will go somewhere to back up, i also see the Titans drafting a quarterback if Young fails, maybe one of those 3 i said or Snead, i can also see the Redskins or Raiders going after Young and i see the Raiders going after Vick (who is a free agent if i am right) next year.

The Eagles on the other hand have three QB's that could start in this league tomorrow. One of them Micheal Vick, will probably get the Eagles a 3rd or 2nd round pick after the season. Most likely you will see Raiders and Panthers fighting for him. Then there is McNabb, who could get them another 1st or 2nd round pick by someone like the Panthers, Jacksonville or Tennessee.

Wouldn't it be something if the Raiders drafted Tebow in the first round. I just don't see this guy as a legitimate starting QB in the league.

    KingJoe!:

The Eagles barely have one starting QB on their roster and that guy is Kolb, the player who should be their starter now and in the future. He can play. McNabb is looking more washed up than ever and just can't stay healthy. I don't know his contract situation, but somebody would probably give you a second rounder for him - maybe..... Vick, on the other hand is un-tradable to 90% of the teams. If anybody else wanted him they would have signed him before the season. He has done NOTHING with the Eagles and would have to really show something in order to be worth anything in a trade to the two or three teams who may be interested. Maybe worth a conditional fifth rounder and a puppy to be named later.

I have no ideal how JaMarcus was drafted #1 ... seriously what talent does he have? I have NEVER seen a QB overthrow a WR by 5-10 yds over and over and over again.

The Raiders should put Russell on that carousel and Never show him how to get off.

KingJoe is on DRUGS..............If the Raiders wanted Vick, Al Davis would've had him in black and silver months ago.
READ MY LIPS>>>>>>The Panthers would not put Vick on the roster for ANYTHING.
Panther fans hate MV more than a playoff loss and Jerry Richardson is way too classy to sign that POS.
