Delhomme taken to hospital but "everything is good"

Carolina quarterback Jake Delhomme had to leave the Panthers' victory over the Arizona Cardinals early today when he suffered a chest injury. But after going to the hospital for a CT Scan, he said he's fine and will play next week against the Saints.

"Oh yeah, definitely," Delhomme said when asked if he'll play next week, per Steve Reed of CarolinaGrowl.com. "Everything is good."

Delhomme got hurt when Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett hit him in the third quarter. The team doctor was worried that the hit might have damaged Delhomme's spleen, but tests at the hospital showed he's fine.

Delhomme entered today's game with a league-high 13 interceptions, but he took care of the ball much better today, making it through his first game of the season without throwing a pick. He finished 7-of-14 for 90 yards and one touchdown.

Well 7 of 14 isn't even really decent if you take away the fact one is a TD. I used to think Delhomme was a good QB but ever since that Post Season game hes never been the same, I don't think he can use the surgery as an excuse anymore

    Music to the Saint's ears.

What is up with the Cardinals at home?

Cardinals go across the country to defeat the Giants in a big win then come home and can't get out of their own way.
    Consistency....Consistency....Consistency.

    Oh yeah, it's the Cardinals.

as a cards fan I can say, what was up with the cards is that they laid an egg. Hate to admit it, but flat out they did. Warner's turnovers plus props to the Panthers D, and that was it. How's that for honest?

And Jake's determination? Who can question that? The guy played for his job and earned it.

The Cardinals need a better running game so when Warner is in one of his shaky moods they can still win the game.

That's my armchair coaching 2 cents. I dig Kurt Warner, I just recognize he has games like this every so often.

Glad Delhomme overall is healthy, but the Panthers coaching staff should still look at Moore for next week.

    I guess that's 4 cents now.
