After reading some of the quotes from Brett Favre posted last night by Rosenthal, we started to wonder whether Favre truly appreciates the size and ferocity of the hornets' nest into which he'll be poking a large stick today.
"I understand we're the visitor. And every time we take the field, I don't expect a standing ovation," Favre said.
Surely, he won't getting a standing ovation any time he takes the field. Though he won't be introduced by name before the game, he won't be hard to find with his gray head and his white jersey with a "4" on the front, back, and shoulders.
And, undoubtedly, he will be booed. Loudly.
Even though we continue to believe that the Packers nudged him into retirement and then bolted the door and pushed furniture in front of it once he was gone, the perception remains that Favre is a traitor.
Given that he's showing up today as a member of Green Bay's division rivals, it's hard to say the perception isn't accurate.
I told Peter King yesterday that, during the Stanley Cup Finals, the home crowd in Pittsburgh loudly booed Marian Hossa every time he touched the puck -- and Hossa had barely a cup of coffee with the 2007-08 Penguins. Favre jumped to the Vikings after 16 years in Green Bay. So whenever he's on the field, there's a chance that the assembled fans will engage in one continuous -- and audible -- boo.
While the Cheeseheads might let bygones by bygones a few years from now (but only if the Vikings don't win a Super Bowl with Favre), we've got a strong feeling that Favre doesn't fully appreciate the degree of animosity he'll encounter as the Prodigal Son returns home not to stay, but to steal the fatted calf and take it back to Minnesota.
His best move would have been to take out a full-page ad in the Friday and/or Saturday edition of every local newspaper containing a heartfelt expression of gratitude for everything the fans have done for him over the years.
Only then might he have softened enough of them to make today's experience somewhat bearable.
Favre should brace for a torrent of boos

What we need is for the Lord Favre to try a Lambeau Leap. Getting pushed back by the crowd would be textbook epic
You nailed it right on the head Florio. As a packers fan, and someone going to the game, I will boo Brett Favre until the day he retires (as long as he is on the vikings), BUT as long as he doesn't win a super bowl with them, I will be standing and cheering when he's inducted into Canton.
For those packer fans who will boo......give it a rest already. He was and still is a exciting player to watch no matter who he plays for.
"Favre should brace for a torrent of boos"
************************************
The Packers fans should brace for a torrent of Touchdowns from Favre and Co........
Then they will have a real reason to boo him.
The land of cheese and WHINE needs to quit acting like the jilted girlfriend and grow up.
The Favre led Vikings will roll today so instead of booing the greatest QB of Packers history, maybe you inbred dairy farm laborers should turn your hatred to where it truely belongs............to fatboy McCarthey and Beavis Thompson, cause both are pussies.
Im out........ Vikes 31-20
Pretty good when you name drop the king of the name droppers, Florio. Bravo!
If they boo for the entire game, it will only show the total intellect of the cheeseheads.
How stupid can one group of people be?
no what he ought to do is take out a TWO full pages add telling all packer fans everywhere to go piss in the wind..... then go out and drop 50 points on their ass.... Now that would be a thing of beauty and i might even start to like the stinking trader Mississippi swamp trash. GO VIKES
Bull Crap !!!
Florio you're such a whore and not the good kind either. All you're doing is stirring the pot so you get a few more people to respond calling you a dumb A$$ upping your click count so you get paid. You know as well as all the players do that it's rare for any player to spend an entire career with one Team so lose this he betrayed them Bull Schizzle. Favre doesn't owe the Packers fan squat, if anything they are forever in his debt for reintroducing the Green Bay Packers back to the League. I have attended many games at Lambeau over the years many of them before the guy with the funny name even showed up so I know Packer Fans are obscenely into their Team but I'm hoping they can show some class but I'm not holding my breathe. After all he's a damn Football player, it's not like the guy drove an airplane into a tall building.
How stupid can one group of people be?
That's a rhetorical question i assume Twiz...they are packer fans you know
Well, most of you don't know Packer fans. Although there will be some boos, after the first possession it will turn into just cheers for the home team. The Pack are very welcoming, and most fans hate him in purple, but are just waiting for him to retire so they can love him again.
It was time for Favre to move on when he did/Packers encouraged him to. ARod is our QB, and he's fantastic, a top 5 QB in the NFL. The Vikes are talented, this should be a great game today.
nice nbc-ish turn, florio, forgetting that favre brought it on himself due to years of waffling.
"Even though we continue to believe that the Packers nudged him into retirement and then bolted the door and pushed furniture in front of it once he was gone, the perception remains that Favre is a traitor"....this is how most NFL fans see it, too bad that Packer fans have the mentality of a 3yr old throwing a hissy fit. Why would Favre want to waste the money to take out a newspaper ad when the only thing that 90% of Packer fans read is the label on their beer bottle? So be it if the fans boo as it will only confirm what the rest of us NFL fans have already come to believe about Packer fans...that they are a bunch of hayseeds who don't know the difference between gourmet and goolash.
@ Jaydub -If Brett did a Lambeau Leap, you and every other brat smelling drunk would be trying to pat his ass and grasp his sack. You love him deep inside!
I don't understand you Mike.
Last week you were trying to tell us the exact words that Reggie Bush and Sean Payton should have said, this week you're telling Brett Favre exactly how he should have responded to the animousity from the Green Bay faithful...
Why?
It doesn't make me think that you know more than these people, all it tells me is that you've spent so long doing this, that you've finally submerged yourself into the P.R machine of the NFL. Time was, you would have enjoyed the idea of these players mouthing off, or saying something they shouldn't.
I think this is a huge no story, the Packer fans in Green Bay boo anybody from the other team. The sports world is full of people booing players, A-Rod, Bonds etc etc. I was a part owner of a sky box in Green Bay (I'm not a Packer fan) when I lived in Chicago and took clients to games in Green Bay and they just love their Packers and besides, if you live in Green Bay, what else is there to do?
I wonder why the media has chosen to speculate on the "to boo or not to boo" aspect of this storyline all week. They are really going lowest common denominator here.
Regardless if people boo or not, it's really condescending that every analyst, writer, and random fan seems to think that their opinion on the subject matters. Who are any of these people to dictate how a fan (who paid an exorbanant amount of money for a ticket, I may add) enjoys him/herself? If they want to boo, fine. Let them. If they want to cheer, fine. Let them. It's their money, let them get their fun.
It's been almost 2 years, that's longer than it takes a Packer fan to grieve the loss of a family member.......it shows that their love of TT, MM and Arod is nothing but false bravado, their real anger is losing #4. If Green Bay was something more than a frozen tundra, had other professional sports franchises, the fans would be more knowledgeable and sophisticated and not act the way they do, it's kinda like when the hillbilly comes to the big city once a year.......doesn't have a clue on how to act!!!
I'm starting to figure out why Billy Bob Favre liked Green Bay so much. He was the smartest person in town.......by a mile.
Brett Favre was booed when he was wearing Green and Gold and playing in the Metrodome. Why should he be treated any differently wearing purple and gold and playing at Lambeau Field. As a Packer fan I appreciate all of what he did for my team but now all I want is a victory over the Vikings. There is nothing personal about that. Packer fans like any other fans cheer for their team and against their opponent.
(but only if the Vikings don't win a Super Bowl with Favre),
Fat chance of that happening, combine Favre's poor playoff performances in 7 out of 8 last playoff games (the Seattle game is the exception and Ryan Grant ran for over 200 yards that day) and the Viking's franchise history for choking in the playoffs, (although they did come close in their last NFC championship game, a 41-0 loss to the Giants), and (as Kinky Friedman would say) you have a better chance of seeing Jesus Christ pull up in front of your house in a 1971 Ford Pinto.
The smaller the town, the more fans would boo.
It's known as small dick syndrome.
Why shouldn't the Cheeseheads boo him?
He built a legendary career in Green Bay, and now he is crapping on them. Even worse than crapping on fans that were loyal to him for all of those years is the way that he is REALLY ENJOYING doing it to them.
BOO the hell out of him. He deserves it.
That said, besides his vaginesque, post-interception tackle "attempt", he is playing some darn good football right now.
Bearsrule.....good one! that's also why Ted Thompson likes GB so much, he can do the Danny Snyder/Al Davis bit without alienating the fans as he knows they will keep drinking the kool-aid.
Man, as soon as the Browns are down 30, I'm just gonna get ready for this game. I can't wait to see Favre's face when the fans treat him like he treated them. Go Packer fans!
Must be a bunch of typical Viking fans on here. They are great front runners, but wait until Favre costs them a chance to get to the SuperBowl and then watch them spew their venom. They will be off of his bandwagon so fast, just like every year when they attempt to play in the post season. Maybe they should put Viking fans out of misery and move the franchise to LA.
Half the people in Wisconsin hope that Brett Takes the Vikings to the Super Bowl. He gave us 17 great years and we appreciate him and what he gave us. The media machine wants everyone to believe everyone can't stand Brett and that is just plain BS.
Sure we are Packer fans still but why would any sane person not want to watch Brett and his excitement in the twilight of his carreer. The media buffaloed many saying that he was over the hill. The Pack was robbed of a billion dollar commodity and Ted Thompson should be strung up for it.
Attention dickheads, including Florio chief among them. Favre held the Packers hostage for YEARS, and FLORIO you mocked him for doing so...now you are his media whore. It's LAUGHABLE to say the Packers forced him into retirement. He pulled the same shit in 2006 and 2007 so the Packers rightfully wanted a decision going into free agency and draft prep in 2008. He RETIRED. Nobody forced him into it...he's a big boy with his own decisions, that is unless his dickhead agent/lawyer (most are) made them for him. He expected the Packers to take him back with open arms and when they told him no he threw a tantrum like a two-yr-old. Florio, I have been reading this website for years and until this year, for whatever reason, you mocked Favre relentlessly for something you are now blaming on the Packers' organization and their fans. Your website has turned to absolute shit so this is the last post I will ever make, the last time I will ever read it. I cannot believe what an absolue media whore you have become...it's pathetic, but given the parent company of your parent website, I am not surprised you would be a media whore....enjoy your lunch with Maddow and Olberman...I hope you all choke.
As long as they boo him "with respect".
Perhaps M. Homgren said it best, (paraphrasing), "you have to understand that the football mentality of Packer fans is like none of the other 31 NFL teams fans and regardless of how the rest of the country perceives Brett Favre, Packer fans dance to the beat of their own music" Three people were most directly responsible for the 96' SB win by the Packers, Holmgren, B. Favre and R. White. While it is totally illogical to the rest of us, Packer fans think of R. White as "one of their own" even though he joined them as a FREE AGENT, but once you're "theirs", don't you dare go elsewhere to play. They will boo Favre loudly today but then expect him to enter the HOF as a Packer.......what a great time for #4 to dump on them.
"@ Jaydub -If Brett did a Lambeau Leap, you and every other brat smelling drunk would be trying to pat his ass and grasp his sack. You love him deep inside!"
--------------------------------------
We dont swallow brats and play grab-ass in New York, Sparky. Go play with your purple helmet
Favre is still braced for that "schism" although I think he has most of his new team mates converted now......
GREEN BAY: GET OVER IT
Why do Packer fans feel as if they are immune to professional athletics. Favre was a great player for your team for years, but just like EVERY other professional team, players leave and players move on. Get over it, get off your elite high horse. Even Yankee, and Red Sox fans acknowledge that players move on and leave, don't you think Cleveland Indian fans are up in arms during game 1 of the World Series as Cliff Lee faced CC Sabathia? But for what ever reason, you Packer fans feel as if you are at another level than anyone else. Get over it. Enjoy the time you had with him and MOVE ON. Your leadership for your organization essentially made the decision to move on. Deal with it.
@straw33
How in the world can you even think that Rodgers is a top 5 QB in the NFL? So which of the following QB's are you saying he is currently better than.......
Manning
Manning
Rothlesburger
Brees
McNabb
Palmer
Cutler
Orton
Favre
Those are just a few that are currently WAY better than Rodgers can hope to be this year. Maybe one day (if the Packers O line can keep him off his ass) he could be a top ten QB, but top 5? Never as long as he is in GB!
This is basically the Super Bowl for the Packers, and an important, but not not crucial, division game for the Vikings.
Really if Green Bay were to win only one game all season, this is the one they HAVE to win. The Vikings can lose this and will still win the division by two games, but it will hurt in the playoffs as Minnesota and the Giants vie for the #2 seed and first-round bye.
So the Packers will play with a lot of emotion. So their plan is to send everyone after Favre as much as possible and if Adrian Peterson beats them, so be it. But Favre CANNOT beat them, like he did the first game when they went all-out to stop Peterson and rarely blitzed.
So they will blitz heavy and often, and every time they hit Favre, the crowd will get even more rowdy and fired up.
Until Peterson lights them up for 180 yards and a couple TDs.
Actually, we have. The hillbilly is the one who hasn't moved on. We've got our quarterback who doesn't act like a media whore.
And the Nut-hugging of Favre continues by the minnesota "faithful" (per ESPN: "There is also an undeniable fair-weather factor among Vikings fans, and the team needed corporate help to sell out its games last season for the first time in a decade.") It's funny that Lord Favre made the decision to retire but somehow the packers nudged him out. Anybody that thinks that has not spent any time in Green Bay (as this Bronco fan has).
I think most of this is just Viking fans being bitter that their most impressive season this decade will be due to a man they have hated for 15 years. They'll see it as tainted.
As a lifelong Packer fan, it was GREAT to be dicked around ever year by Brent. He had his little 'I'm probably going to retire moments' in 05, 06...didn't in 07 because he threw the WORST PASS IN CHAMPIONSHIP GAME HISTORY to lose to the Giants, which completely the worst half of football he probably ever played in his life.
We're pissed off because of the TWO press conferences he had saying he was done and had nothing left. I certainly moved on. The Packers HAD to move on. HE RETIRED. The fact that he or anyone else doesn't understand why the Packers could not take him back last season, if you don't get that, then you are an idiot. And Rodgers has absolutely proven them right. It's not artificial love for A-Rod...he's legit, and could end up BETTER than Favre. Remember, at this stage of his career, Favre was tossing about 2 INTs a game. Rodgers had 2 this season so far.
But the way Favre has gone about everything, that's why he'll get booed today. He took over at QB of my favorite team when I was 11 years old. Of course I will have fond memories of his time in GB. But the absolute ego and greed (anyone who doesn't think $12 million dollars was at least SOME motivation to play again, you haven't been paying attention the last few years) on his part has tainted it all. Brent was a friggin God in GB. And he gives that all up because Teddy Thompson made the right choice and chose Rodgers?
I hope he leaves Lambeau looking like a 4o-year old, who hasn't played well when it mattered (playoffs) since 1998.
Did any one See Rod Woodson's hall of fame speech? He actually thanked the Steelers fans for years of support and for booing him when he returned as a Raven. I believe the quote was something like this, "I would have lost a lot of respect for you Steeler Nation if you hadn't booed." It's football. Farve is siding with the enemy. He should get booed, and he should love it. People don't boo bad players on other teams. People boo great players on other teams, and it should be as much motivation as getting cheered at home.
Not everyone in the crowd is a favre hater like you are florio.
This is a classic case....comparable to the drug addict who foolishly thinks every other guy on the street is an addict as well.
We need to get florio some help......
Please Please Please Packers fans: Get Your Facts Straight!
Thompson and McCarthy threw Brett out - he didn't betray anybody. He was the one betrayed. Might I remind you that he and Deanna support charities in WI and Mississippi?
Try to think straight and, if there are boos about Brett, that will show that Packers fans are idiots.
@Pack83
Your post proves one thing - you don't have a clue what you are talking about.
Packer83...you call the rest of us idiots but your post proves otherwise. you say, "We're pissed off because of the TWO press conferences he had saying he was done and had nothing left. I certainly moved on. The Packers HAD to move on. HE RETIRED. " Obviously you have NOT moved on, so don't try and b.s. us that you have. Its been 2 freakin' years that he has been gone and yet you claim to have moved on......and we're the idiots??!! Also, you can't always trust what your ears hear in a press conference.....you obviously have no clue to what happened prior to those press conferences. It went something like this, "brett we want to move on to a. rodgers, we can put you on the bench as 2nd string or you can retire which will it be".......packer fans need to try and see the big picture instead of accepting the Packer kool-aid without questions. again, you are soooooo obviously over it and have moved on, what a joke!!!!

Actually, we have. The hillbilly is the one who hasn't moved on. We've got our quarterback who doesn't act like a media whore.

Now you have a QB who is virtually the same as a whore.....always on his back!
Let's get this straight, the "Packers" fans here in Wisconsin HATE Brett Favre. Yes, you read that right...HATE HIM. The Brett Favre fans will continue to adore him but he's burned his bridges in Green Bay and the State of Wisconsin. Look no further than the buried smoking gun of his comments a few weeks ago that the Packer fans should "move on". That was the final nail.
Favre is not going to be welcomed back to Green Bay at any time...not now, not ever. Marian Hossa? Please. Favre made his bed and the loyal Packer fans will never forget what has happened. He's done as a Packer legend and those of you on the outside that can't understand it...just deal with it.
And it's really a hoot looking at some of you, who probably don't live here or care for the Packers, telling Packers fans how they should feel or act.
If fans want to boo Brent, that's our choice, not yours. If fans want to cheer for Brent, that's our choice as well. Get it? We don't need your advice or your help, mkay?
Most of you have NO CLUE as to what happened last year and you think you know everything because of what you've read on the internet or what you think you might know. Trust me, you don't know jack about what happened last year. Brent was as much to blame for this as the Packer executive committee...yes, it's true, Ted Thompson made the decision to move with Rodgers after Brent retired and then unretired, there by throwing another wrench into preparing for the upcoming season. They had to move on and they made the better choice at quarterback as far as I'm concerned. It was Packer insiders who decided to trash Brent last off season, not Ted Thompson or Mike McCarthy. They both wanted him back after he changed his mind, but decided enough was enough when he pulled the retirement crap the second time last year and went ahead with Rodgers.
Packers fans have been whipped into an insane hatred of their long-time quarterback by media spinmeister Ari Fleischer. Ted Thompson has spent millions of dollars to make Packers fans hate Brett Favre.
It's too bad that Packers fans have become the tools of Ted Thompson.
http://www.jsonline.com/packerinsider/66600162.html
God you Vikings fans just twist shit to make it fit your argument.
We don't care Brett left. Yes, he was great, yes he did a lot for the Packers.
BUT, he plays for the Pack's biggest rival now. I don't care who it is, that QB gets booed. It has nothing to do w/ the past, and everything to do w/ the present.
I'll cheer BF after he retires a Packer and returns to Lambeau w/o so much drama. Until then, he is an opposing QB and Packers fans have every right to boo.
TT gave the Packers a young core of good players and a franchise QB for the next ten years. While Minn will choke and then be stuck back w/ a regressed TJ while the Pack take the division for the next decade.
MrHumble, you are an idiot, your relentless posting about TT and MM is so far off point you might as well just break your keyboard, b/c everything you write is complete clueless nonesense.
Favre quit on the Packers, cried like a bitch about it, and then wanted his job back? Lol enjoy you one year w/ the diva Minn, and when he sticks it to you like he wants to do to the Packers, I'll be here, laughing my ass off.
Posts from all over the counry and pretty much representative of the other 31 teams fans but it doesn't matter........we can't change a hillbilly's way of thinking. When you do put them "in a box", with facts, they come out...........swearing and name calling, LOL , what a bunch of hayseed losers. While Raider fans are about the most loyal, they are at least not afraid to call a spade a spade and be critical of their team when need be. Packer fans think it would be sacrireligious to say something negative about their team....proof that they can't think for themselves. Being critical of your team doesn't mean you are a traitor or a fair weather fan, it means you understand the game beyond what kool aid someone feeds you.
@Tundrastruck
You are another of the fools that don't seem to have a clue regarding Favre and the Packers --
Favre was told he could come back and compete with Rodgers for the job.
Forget everything else....and focus on that for just a second. Favre has been the starter for upteen years, and because he changed his mind about retiring, he now has to compete? Picture that happening with Payton Manning. Changes his mind about retiring, then is told he has to compete with his backup for the starting job.
The FudgePackers fked up, plain and simple. They *KNEW* Favre could still play and a high level, else they never would have added the 3 first round draft picks if the jets traded Favre to MN.
Vikings 35 FudgePackers 17(if that much)
The Pack no longer needed him, he wanted to keep playing. He has every right to keep playing until hes 70 if someone will have him and he wishes to do so. Packers fan should boo their swiss cheese head Head Coach and Teddy Thompson for the fact the the Vikings have the better team and QB.
What's the problem with Favre playing?
They didn't want him anymore and don't want anybody else to have him...
Cake and eating cake... hmm...
Favre asked the Jets to release him, even though in his words he could never, ever do that- for 1 reason to play for the Vikings and stick it to the Packers. Last game he changed 1 of their last plays to a 3rd down bomb just to try to run up the score over his old team.
As far as Favre and Deanna - they made more money than any NFL player has in the history of the league - money the Packers paid them. Also after Hurricane Katrina - what state helped with the recovery with more money donated than any other state? Wisconsin - in fact hundreds went down there to help with the recovery. Why because they loved #4. And for the people who say that people in GB are hicks for booing - what would they do in big cities like NY if he came back to play for Boston or in Philly.......if you don't think they would boo, you're delusional.
EVERY PACKER FAN in America should read the column by Cliff Christl in this weeks Packers Plus. It will change the way most Favre-haters look at Favre, forever.
That article tells how the Packers organization and former White House spokeman and PR guru Ari Fleischer deliberately spread lies about Favre in June and July of 2008 to better back the position of Ted Thompson and his minions inside 1265 Lombardi Avenue.
And the Packers Wisconsin beat media (especially Michael Hunt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and Jason Wilde (now fired, thank God) of the Wisconsin State Journal, in particular, etc., and even those at the Green Bay Press Gazette) were ALL too eager to report the lies, AND run with them.
NOW, after the damage has been done, and after 16 months, some of the "truth" about what REALLY happened back then, is FINALLY starting to trickle out.
Funny how Florio and PFT never mentioned THIS story, this week, isn't it ???
Whyyyyyy, one would almost think Florio had an "agenda" here or something ! Right Olbermann, I mean Florio !

@ jay'sdumb - New york?? No wonder you are thinking of my purple helmet fruitcake!!!
Saturday afternoon, I drove by Lambeau and I've never seen the lot more full of RV's with purple flags.
The Viking fans are in FULL FORCE for this game. The boos for the Packers will be JUST AS STRONG.
This is going to be like a Super Bowl atmosphere as far as crowd reaction. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
Love him or hate him, if Brett Favre wasn't who he was, and didn't play like he does, no one would give a crap about this game. One thing you can't see about Brett, is his career has never been boring!!!

Are you on crack ???
Brett toyed with retirement for 4 years, holding the Packers organization hostage each time.
They drafted Aaron Rodgers as an eventual replacement for Lord Douche.
Finally, he retired and said he was staying retired. The Packers prepared for the upcomming season without him.
Favre tried to pull his usual "unretirement" crap and Green Bay told him that the only way he could come back was to be Aaron Rodgers backup since they had already prepared for the season and installed the playbook to fit Rodgers.
Favre cried to the media and forced them to trade him.
Green Bay got their draft picks, Favre got what he wanted.
It seems like a non-issue to a Bears fan that still hates Jim MacMahon for going to Green Bay and winning another ring playing behind Lord Douche.
When I said I moved on, it was a reference to when he had that bullshit retirement cryfest after--again--the WORST pass in Championship game history (http://archive.profootballtalk.com/FavreThrow.jpg). Maybe I'm not over that game. I'm certainly not over Brent playing for the Vikings. I'm 28, I live in NY and have been a Packer fans since I was 6. I'm as big a Packer fan as there is, period. I was at the Lions game 2 weeks ago and there was legit hatred for Favre, so it seems like the majority of Packer fans agree.
Let's review that 2008 situation though...BRENT RETIRES...PACKERS MOVE ON...BRENT WANTS TO COME BACK...PACKERS HAVE MOVED ON.
How the hell else were they supposed to handle it?? I have absolutely no idea what went on, but from a PR perspective, if the Packers were 100% behind Rodgers and Favre wanted to come back, was there any conceivable way of it being amicable?
You know what would have made it different?? If Favre said, in March 08 when he had the BS press conference, that 'no, this is wrong, Thompson is forcing me out, I still want to play' etc, IF he had said that, then that changes everything. What, he needed another 2 months to flip flop about coming back, while the Packers spun their tires?? Now THAT would have been fair...Rodgers would probably be a Pro Bowl QB on another team by now. But for him to cry and say he has nothing left and THEN 3 months later say he was forced into it...it was just a load of crap.
The bottom line is, Packer fans have a different perspective on this, a unique perspective, and if we want to hate on him, why can't we??? Don't like it? Don't care.
The whole article is on here so florio can say he talked to peter king. So what?
I am with the person named "vikingrules"...I hope Brett goes in and scores the 50 and shows the cheese and whine sorry fans that THEY are the ONES who are total trash...Being from Mississippi and attending USM, I am proud that Brett was born and raised in Mississippi and he is a "SUPERSTAR"! He certainly deserves it. The first guy who posted we were Mississippi trash, you stupid idiot, you need to learn how to capitalize your letters, "i" is "I", and Learn how to spell, "add" is "ad"....oh, sweet baby jesus, please send him back to first grade, oh please!!!! Vikings do RULE!!!
"as the Prodigal Son returns home not to stay, but to steal the fatted calf and take it back to Minnesota."
You must be really feeling yourself over this comment Florio, because its the second time you used it in so many days. It makes you proud that you thought of that in relation to Farve doesnt it.
I think its more like he stole the fatted calf then he Big Ben'd it (aka sexually assaulted)
"vikingrules" sorry about that, you were the one that said that about Mississippi Swamp Trash and I told you to learn how to spell, I read it again. But you do need to go back to first grade! Read up on Mississippi and USM-then you will understand why we are such devoted fans too in Mississippi.....GO VIKES! (I know you are probably mad at me now)
And when he said his current team was better than the 95-96-97 Packers? He literally tinkled away that respect he believes he demands now...
csaber2007......you say anyone who lives outside of green baby,wi has no clue as to what really happened.................what a stupid comment. It just further proves that packer fans ONLY believe what comes out of packer mgmt's mouths. Green baby is not a city excluded from the rest of the world where only if you live there do you "really know what happened".......think about how asinine that sounds. I am quite sure that the media, reporters, experts, etc. have better insight than someone who just happens to be a packer fan. You may not have internet, tv or common sense in green baby but surely you don't believe everything you hear from your campbell soup cans and piece of string.

You nailed it right on the head Florio. As a packers fan, and someone going to the game, I will boo Brett Favre until the day he retires (as long as he is on the vikings), BUT as long as he doesn't win a super bowl with them, I will be standing and cheering when he's inducted into Canton.

Wow, is it possible to sound any more like the scorned lover? "I'll like him, only if he doesnt have as much fun with someone else as he did with me..."
get over you little crybaby, go watch some hallmark channel specials and maybe a little lifetime then move on. Hop on your new ride, Aaron rodgers (at least untill you incompetent management drives him out of town, then you can hate him too) and have all the fun you can handle (wait, 6-10 wasnt that much fun was it? neither is looking up at the vikes in the standings)
I'm a 49er fan and I'll probably boo him from my couch!
To all the people saying Packer fans shouldn't boo him have no clue what it's like to be a real fan of a TEAM! He's an opposing QB in the NFL against a division rival, he should be boo'd loudly
better team= Vikings
better QB= Aaron Rodgers
If Rodgers was the Vikings QB they'd be Super Bowl favorites....with Favre they might have a chance
I've used the hockey analogy in the past, but this really is a version of Red Wings-Avalanche - you just don't sign with the other team. Peter Forsberg had a chance to sign with the Red Wings when he was released by the Avalanche and he knew what that would do to Avalanche fans so he signed with Philadelphia. Look at the Packers roster and how many former Vikings do you see on it? Granted, the players aren't nearlya s talented as farve, but Packers fans pretty much had the same reaction when Ryan Longwell signed with the Vikes and players like Robert Ferguson wore purple (though in Fergie's case I thin Packers fans were more than happy he went there). If Farve doesn't win a Super Bowl in Minnesota I'm sure eventually (eventually) all will be forgiven, but if he wins the Super Bowl, really he might as well go into the Hall of Fame as a Viking because I don't imagine a time where he'd be welcomed back. Yeah, he put the Packers back on the map, but you have to realize there are now a couple of generations of Packers fans that don't remember the golden era of Anthony Dillweg...
@csaber2007
No, I'm a Vikings fan first and foremost. Favre is our QB. I hated him when he was with GB, but always respected him as one of the best QB's of all time.
Too bad a majority of GB fans don't realize what they once had, what their team management screwed up and lost!
"Vikings 35 FudgePackers 17(if that much)"
No way the Vikings would even come close to scoring 35 points point, let alone 30 points.
Delusional moron...
@ Vikingsrule--
I think you mean traitor.. Doubt Farve does much trading, except teams maybe.
