Gaither expected to start for Ravens

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, the Ravens will have Jared Gaither back in the lineup for Sunday’s game with the Broncos.

Gaither missed the last two Ravens games before the bye week because of a neck injury and was listed as questionable after a week that saw him alternate between being limited in practice and missing it entirely. Mortensen reports that there’s still some question about his neck, but that he’s well enough to start.

If Gaither is good to go, rookie Michael Oher will slide back to right tackle while Marshal Yanda will head back to the bench in a reserve role.

The Ravens will need a strong effort from both Gaither and Oher against a Broncos defense that’s racked up 21 sacks, tied for second-best in the NFL. They’ll have to pay particular attention to outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil, whose 10 sacks through six games have him on pace to shatter the NFL’s single-season record.
