It's on at Lambeau

In lieu of a Live Blog of Sunday’s return by Brett Favre to Lambeau Field, we’ve opted instead to post multiple items about the game, and then to let you add your thoughts in the comments.

As kickoff approaches, here’s what Favre told Steve Mariucci about NFL Network in an interview that aired earlier today:  “This [2009 Vikings] team is as good as the ’96 [Packers] team.”

And once again, loud boos greeted Favre as he emerged from the tunnel prior to the game.

Vikings already screwed by fumble call. It should be 7-0 Vikings.

No matter that it takes you guys 30 minutes approve comments… the comments will still be timely.

Hey you Green Bay wannabes! Take some manner classes from Indianapolis. The Colts fans gave a raving greet to Edgerrin James when he came and played against the team that “made him”. We love football. We love spirit. But most of all, we love watching players continue to be fabulous! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. No class, whatsoever! Gotta think you’re gonna be slammed for your ignorance. So much for the mega tax bucks you just put in for Minnesota’s tourism budget……………….

I won’t slam Pack fans, but I couldn’t boo a guy who’d done that much for my team. It broke my heart when Rod Woodson left the Steelers. And after a year w/the 49ers, he went to our archrival the Ravens, where he played us twice a year, beat us, and won a Super Bowl. A lot of Steelers fans booed Rod then, but I couldn’t. Much as I hated the Ravens and the Raiders when he played there, I still wanted Rod to have a Pro Bowl year.
When Woodson went into the HoF a few months ago, the Terrible Towels were flying. The other Steeler fans have forgiven him. I hope by the time Favre goes into the Hall, the Pack fans will be able to celebrate with him as well.

I am embarrassed to be a Packer fan today. Favre bhis team back brought this team back to relevance and these idiots ignore that plus the fact that Favre wanted to play for Green Bay and the Packers wanted to move forward with Rodgers. The Packers fans forget what Favre has done for their franchise and boo him like that is classless and stupid because those same fans that booed Favre will be in Canton with their Favre jerseys on cheering him on. The fans are the true traitors in this whole situation. Sorrowful day to be a Packers fan

    Favredaze,
You seem to forget that in early March 2008 Favre on his own flew up to Green Bay and held a press conference where he cried and said he had nothing left. He also stated it had nothing to do with Thompson etc. Now any intelligent business man is going to question a ex employee’s desire and heart when he decides to change his mind AFTER the team went through the entire offseason program with his successor, a very talented and capable successor, running the offense. So. You risk losing Rodgers, lose the respect of the team, wonder if the guy is just going to quit??? Tough decision but the right one was made. favre wasn’t shown the door. He created this. Had he come out after the Giants loss and said Im back next year and were going to take the next step he could still be in Green Bay playing. instead he cried and said he had nothing left to give.

Super sucker if you will recall Favre was ready to report the first day of training camp I don’t know what other offseason activities he needed to be there for. Oh yeah those 6 days of rookie camps and mini-camps yeah he missed alot.
Oh and for that right decision Green Bay went 13-3 with Brett and 6-10 with Rodgers. Brett took NY Jets from a losing season to a winning season. So I think the jury is still out on that right decision. Cause wins will be the ultimate judge and it don’t look good for Rodgers.
Oh yeah Brett would just have quit cause we have seen that so many times from Brett on the field broke thumb on his throwing hand, Dad dies, and the list goes on, he just quit didn’t he. You need to recieve a C’mon Man for that question.
One more thing for you to ponder, and don’t give me the respect card as the answer to this one. Brett was under contract to the Green Bay Packers. So they could have made him ride the bench or compete for his job. No they offer him 20 million to stay retired and then when he decided to show up they traded him.
So yes he was shown the door. So you keep kissing Mike and Ted, and the rest of the NFL world realizes the truth. He wanted to play in Green Bay and was shown the door.
