The good news for the Texans is that their 31-10 win at Buffalo moved Houston's record to 5-3.
It's the first time the Texans are two games over .500 since Week Two of the 2007 season.
The bad news is that they'll have to continue their push for the first playoff appearance in franchise history without star tight end Owen Daniels.
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Daniels is out for the rest of the year with a knee injury.
Daniels, a restricted free agent in 2009, will be eligible for restricted free agency again in 2010, absent a new labor deal. The Texans are likely to again apply the highest possible RFA tender, forcing Daniels to prove that he is 100 percent before considering a long-term deal.

That is a real shame. I'm in the Houston market and find the cowboys boring, so I've watched all of the Texan games this year and that guy was playing amazing.
guaranteed he still gets paid, hes too good
This is going to be a tough loss for the Texans. Houston's head coach brought over his philosophy from the Broncos and the Tight end is a very important part of the offense.
Owen Daniels came on strong and has been a stalwart tight end for Houston. Rough stuff.
"star tight end" ?
Having a good year, but far from a "star"
Dude, so many guys have "blowed up" their knees on the Buffalo turf this year. This needs to be looked into...
dunno but buffalo sure blowed up in the 4th quarter. 10-9 lead turns into... 3 td loss.
Casey will be a good replacement.
well thats simply because we blow...
There are two reasons why a 10 - 9 lead turned into a three TD loss for the Bills. First, half of the defense has been lost to injury. Coming into the game, the Bills were missing their starting DT, OLB, CB, SS and FS, and a couple of backup LBs. Then during the game they lost their other starting OLB and their best DE. Second, the Bills have no offense, due primarily to having the worst O-line in the NFL (and also missing their starting QB and TE), so their defense was forced to stay on the field for more than 39 minutes of time of possession.
Get well Owen Daniels
Owen Daniels IS a star TE. If he's not, then who is? Check the stats. And yes, I'm a disgruntled Daniels owner.
