The Broncos didn’t make any excuses for their poor performance in a 30-7 loss to the Ravens.
Broncos QB Kyle Orton was sacked twice and hurried often during his 23 of 37, 152-yard performance on Sunday afternoon.
Broncos running backs Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter combined for just 55 yards rushing and Moreno lost a fumble.
Broncos T Ryan Harris suffered a “serious injury” to the two small toes on his right foot.
The Broncos pass rush was slowed by the Ravens’ use of a no-huddle offense that kept them from getting the right packages of players on the field.
Ravens LB Jarret Johnson set the tone for the defensive performance on the first play of the game when he sacked Orton.
KR Lardarius Webb jumpstarted the Ravens scoring with a 95-yard kickoff return touchdown to open the second half.
Ravens K Steve Hauschka made all three of his field goal tries to quiet concerns about his ability to do the job.
Ravens QB Joe Flacco completed his final 14 passes of the game and tied Elvis Grbac’s franchise record 80 percent completion rate.
Said Ravens coach John Harbaugh, “The fans got rolling today. It was good
to be in our stadium. Those two purple walls – on the side and in the
end zone, when they got cranked up and our defense was on the field …
it made a difference.”
