Rams-Lions one-liners

K Josh Brown’s 36-yard touchdown pass to TE Daniel Fells was a huge play in the Rams’ 17-game losing streak breaking 17-10 victory.

When Rams players went to get the Gatorade bucket to shower coach Steve Spagnuolo, they found it empty so had to fill it before they could celebrate his first NFL victory.

Said Spagnuolo of Rams RB Steven Jackson, who scored the winning touchdown, “We all know that Steve is a will and determination guy. It doesn’t matter how many guys he has to go through, he does that. That was key getting it out of there.”

The Rams offensive line didn’t allow a sack and rarely allowed pressure on QB Marc Bulger.

The Rams defense found greater success when they stopped blitzing as much in the second half.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz described his offense as “toothless” after the game.

Brian Van Ochten of the Grand Rapids Press believes the Lions hit their lowest point of the season in Sunday’s loss.

Lions receivers dropped six passes in the first half, with one resulting in an interception by Rams S James Butler who was tackled for a safety.

RB Maurice Morris made a strong bid for more playing time in the Lions backfield with 14 carries for 63 yards while Kevin Smith struggled with injuries.

A pass interference call on Lions S Louis Delmas helped put the Rams in position for the winning touchdown.
