Browns' Barton could miss the season

It's not a good week to be someone that was brought into the Browns franchise by Eric Mangini.

One day after G.M. George Kokonis was shown the door, linebacker Eric Barton learned that he may not be able to play the rest of the season because of a neck injury.  ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Barton has a bulging disc in his neck.

Barton was one of six former Jets brought in by Mangini -- it's unclear how involved Kokonis was in the decisions.  The 32-year-old is second on the team in tackles with 58.  Barton was miked up two weeks ago for NFL Films and it's not hard to see why his leadership would be valued in a difficult situation in Cleveland.

If Barton is out, the Browns would be without their top two inside linebackers.  D'Qwell Jackson is already out for the season.

Can we now officially name the bad karma that is raining like a hurricane in Cleveland "the Curse of David Pollack"? I think it was Reuben Droughns who broke David's neck.

I hope he gets better so that he can have a high quality of life, but Barton on the bench means the Browns defense will improve. Seriously.

Swapping Andra Davis out for Barton was the best move Mangini made...for the Broncos. That's not a rip on Barton, but Davis is a wee bit better than Nate Webster and Niko Koutavidees...or whatever.

    Mangini isn't all bad.

It is Kokinis not Kokonis. One day without a job and people already forget how to spell my name. You try working with Mangini and see how long you last. Thanks, George.

I wouldn't call it "missing it" Bob.

Hmmm is Mangini wishing he had drafted REY MALAUAGA and CLAY MATTHEWS JR. instead of Robiskie, David Valknye and Alex Mack now? Oh no we have plenty of ex-jets special teamers to fill-in. Mike Furrey plays defense back so why not have Jamal Lewis play linebacker ? lol

Of course Kokinis is responsible for forcing Mangini to accept his former mediocre Jets players.

Just like Mangini was forced to name his son "Brett" and accept Favre as his QB last year.

Anytime there's a bad move on a MangIdiot team it's someone else's fault.
