Falcons-Saints one-liners

The Falcons hung with the Saints but made a few too many mistakes to avoid a 35-27 loss.

Falcons RB Michael Turner ran for 151 yards and scored a touchdown for the sixth consecutive game.

Turner was rolling and Pat Yasinskas of ESPN.com thinks the Falcons went away from him too often on second downs.

D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution believes a missed pass interference call on Saints LB Jonathan Vilma on Falcons WR Roddy White opened the door for a CB Jabari Greer interception return for a touchdown before the half.

The Falcons started CB Tye Hill instead of Brent Grimes, but switched back after Hill was beaten for a touchdown and Grimes picked off a pass.

The Saints defense made several big plays to offset a sloppy night from the offense, including three interceptions and three sacks.

Said Saints coach Sean Payton, “I thought responding the way they did to some of the short fields was
significant. We don’t recover the onside kick and we still come out and
play good defense. There are a number of opportunities where they were
put on a short field and they responded and that is one thing we talked
a little bit about just five minutes ago.”

Saints WR Marques Colston made a pair of leaping catches, one for a touchdown and one to set up the final score in the fourth quarter.

Greer’s interception return for a touchdown was the team’s fifth of the season, tying a Saints record set in 1998.

The Saints’ 273 points scored through seven games is the fourth-most in NFL history.

At least Michael Turner had a good game. Gotta keep it up. Next up is cousin Josh’s (he’s a chumpzilla) favorite team at the Dome, the Redskins. Burn DeAngelo Hall, please. At the stake would be fine.

Does anyone not believe that pass interference on Roddy White didn’t lead to that TD? That was the biggest missed call I have seen all season.

No comment about the Falcons WR mauling the Saint CB on their big bomb for a TD? If that wasn’t offensive pass interference, then nothing is.
