G.M.-less Browns make their first G.M.-less move

On the first morning during the 2009 regular season on which the Cleveland Browns are attempting to do business without a General Manager, they have made a roster move.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that kicker Billy Cundiff, who has been filling in during the absence of starter Phil Dawson due to injury, has been cut.

Per Schefter, Cundiff got the call from V.P. of football administration Dawn Aponte.

Is this the first major move that a woman has made for a Cleveland sports team since the Indians hired Lou Brown?

I wait anxiously for the update saying Dawn Aponte has been escorted from the building......

People are dropping like flies around there, meanwhile, Brady Quinn is in the parking lot burning Jim Brown rookie cards in a bonfire trying to get "fired" and no one's paying attention.

Hey morons, Dawson is back, so they don't need to carry two field goal kickers.

Just waiting for Mangini to come out with a positive "we're headed in the right direction and are in fine shape for a playoff spot" speech.

Mangini declines to name new GM yet to keep the Ravens, their week 10 opponent, guessing.

Next Bold Move: Brady Quinn named starting quarterback for remainder of the season now that his chance of triggering escalators has passed with D.A.'s 55% of snaps taken on the year has happened.

Glad you called them "field goal" kickers - lord knows the Browns offense doesn't need someone for an extra point.

If the Browns finish dead last, Mrs. Phelps will move them to LA.

Cundiff is the team leader in scoring!!!! How do you get rid of the highest scorer on the team?!?! What would our record be if we didn't have his 19 points?
