Here is the reality, being a fan who attends games can hurt you financially. I am a Vikings season ticket holder who attends every game (except the preseason) but I also like to attend Twins & Wild games as well and also like to see the Gopher Hockey & Basketball teams in person as well. It can really add up.

All I care about is getting healthy for the Detroit game. Winning cures everything. The money river deepens, the Press Machine accelerates, players want to stay, and people buy season tickets. I’m certain that there are several thousand Season Tickets in Minnesota as of this hour. If the Vikes keep winning, that number will decrease weekly.
I would go if I was anywhere near the Hump. I’m not. But I don’t live and die by the weekly score. I follow, but I have a life, too. Most of us do, other than the usual slate of dweebs that we all ridicule here. (Sorry, Ambrose, but you’re creeping back onto the list of common GB dillrods again. Sorry to see it.)
Get Winfield back! Paymah was getting toasted again at Lambeau. Play more Asher Allen. I’d love to have Sharper back, but then if my Mom had a mustache and armpit hair, she’d be tending bar in a Bowling Alley in Green Bay. And getting big tips.

It’s not just in Minnesota that this happens.
It’s not like the place is half full on game day, we are talking neaarly 94 % sold!
Yep the Pack is sold out. BFD!
I guess that makes the Pack a better franchise.
I know for a fact you and 99% of the other fans here don’t own season tickets, or go to more than 1 game a year, so for you to sit here and take credit for the sell outs or ridicule the Vikings for being at 94 % capacity is asinine, then again, i don’t really expect anything less out of packer fans.

whoever would get vikings games locally i.e. rochester duluth etc would be affected. yeah a corporation with big time ad spending for the game usually bails them out. They need a stadium. i would not pay face value to watch games in those seats.

Blackout rules still apply for Sunday ticket. Plus when you watch on satellite the play is over before you actuall see the ball snapped. No thanks. I have a big enough issue with the 1 second delay from radio to TV on Charter!

Instead of having players (eight-five) and local corporations buy tickets to avoid blackouts, why not have the NFL become closer allies with airlines? People are fans from places not close enough to drive but would love to get a chance to see their team play even if it’s a crap game like these. Can’t they package a flight, hotel, and game ticket for a decent price? Personally, I don’t need any big frills on a trip like this. Just get me from Cali to Minny for a fricken game and back home again. I hear the Metrodome is crap, but I’d like to see the turd before they rip it down and then someday maybe see the new OUTDOOR stadium. On the cheap of course.

Let em crow about Lambeau sellouts, even though last Sunday’s game had enough purple to look like a home game. Let em talk about Pack fans in MN, when we all know the reason is that MN has the jobs. Let them talk about unsold tickets more than a week in advance, when its the same case in 50% of the other NFL towns, but not mentioned on this site. Let em harp about a team that has sold out every game for over 10 years and kicked their team’s collective posteriors on two separate occasions this year. 60,000 plus seats. Roughly 6% unsold two weeks before the first game. This is such a huge story. There is a smaller percent chance that these games will be blacked out than the actual percentage of unsold seats.
You really can tell when Florio likes to stir the pot in order to generate comments. All he has to do is promulgate the stereotypes that opposing fans throw at a team or fan base and everyone goes crazy. 88 comments so far pretty much proves that. Next you’ll be providing us with a headline saying that Packer’s fans are drunks or that Arizona fans are old.
Great marketing PFT. Now more people will click on your “How I got 6 pack abs in 4 weeks” ads.

I just did the same thing, did a search for best available seats. Got two seats to come up in Section 135 at the 30 Yard Line Lower Level 3o Rows up for $135 per ticket. If this ticket was available for a Saints Game (which it is not because the Saints have sold out the entire Superdome to season ticket holders) the same ticket would be $165 per seat. And the Saints played Detroit at home the first game of the season, so the argument that the opponent sucks also does not hold water.
The argument that the game is not sold out because the only seats that are available are in the nose bleed sections does not hold. These are premium seats for less than the cost of similar seats in other NFL cities for a team that is 7-1. I understand why fans don’t buy home games in cities with terrible franchises/records, but this is ridiculous!
I guess the economy in Minnesota must be really, really bad!

And yes even though packer season tickets are handed down through families in some cases its the name that gets handed down. They still have to be paid for every year. Uncle Louis dies and hands them down to little Johnny and little Johhny says he doesnt want them they go to the next person on the list.

We know that plenty of our neighbors to the north travel in for the games but to say that just becuase some Canadians make the trip there should be no reason for a non sell out from MPLS residents is redonkulous! Touche. You are correct in the fact that those last 4000 seats are arguably the worst seats to watch a football game on earth. Lower level is ok there. Those 4000 that are unsold I wouldnt buy either. face value or LESS. Couch in HD much more preferred.

That’s a matter of opinion. I WOULD rather sit on my couch than experience the game first hand. I would gladly pay a small fee to watch the game on TV versus go to the game. You can’t beat the view.
