Talib not talking about England incident

Last week, Steve Duemig of WDAE in Tampa reported that Bucs cornerback Aqib Talib broke curfew in London and then cussed out coach Raheem Morris when confronted about it.

Earlier this week, Morris tried to downplay the incident -- apparently acknowledging that there were dirty words but no "disrespect".

Talib faced questions on the situation today, and per PewterReport.com he said nothing.

"Raheem already told you guys what happened so I'm not really going to get into that," Talib said.  "I'm sticking to football questions.  Rah kind of already explained to you guys what happened, so I'll leave it at that. . . .  I'm not going to get into it all."

So, basically, with neither Morris nor Talib providing a specific version of the events that rebuts Duemig's, we'll assume that Duemig's version of events is the accurate one.

    Slow news day...
These guys couldn't beat a UFL team.

Raheem Morris won't be in the League... and Talib will probably be in jail in two years.

    NFL's roadkill here.

Why is he calling his coach by his first name; i thought coach was "coach"; this guy is talented but he has no respect for anyone. I don't see why teams put up with these disgusting attitudes....

    Rah? They call him Rah??

As in the cheer? Rah Rah?!

No wonder there are respect problems.

The Bucs are 0-7, and this is a perfect example of why.

Morris actually said that Talib looks at him as a "brother figure" and he and Talib cuss each other every day.

The last two coaches the Bucs fired won Super Bowls. This jackass is so clueless he says that a player cussing him is not a sign of disrespect. Great. How many players cussed out Tony Dungy?

By the way, didn't Capt. Cuss get burned for a TD in England? Wonder if he cussed brother Morris after that.

Talib callis Morris "Rah?" Geez, he's toast.

"Rah"? Did he really just call his coach Rah? So Morris lets his guys be chummy with him and say dirty words to his face?

Don't blame Talib though, maybe he was late because he was trying to defect from the Bucs.

THIS WHOLE ORGANIZATION BECAME A JOKE WHEN DUNGY LEFT,

HE PUT A SUPERBOWL TEAM TOGETHER....GRUDEN WAS BLESSED WITH THE FRUITS OF DUNGYS LABOR...

WHEN GRUDEN SPUN THE TEAM INTO THE ABYSS, MORRISS STEPPED IN, AND WITH ALL DO RESPECT, HE IS WAY OUT OF HIS LEAGUE...IF THE BUCKS WANT TO GET BACK TO A COMPETATIVE LEVEL, THEY NEED TO CLEAN HOUSE FAST...AND UNFORTUNATELY FOR RAHEEM...IT STARTS WITH HIM.......NO CHANCE BROTHA'

talib will be in his 2nd pro bowl 2 years from now. hes a shut down corner. he worked hard his whole life and stuck to football, while most of u ate twinkies and smoked grass. give the dude a break, hes a football player, not citizen of the month. and i used to listen to steve duhmig just about every day, then i started realizing his reports and views of certain things come without reasoning and he also has his favorite he likes to stick up for, and then the favorites he likes to poke at. i also think he part of the reason gruden got fired. so i also give part of the blaim for the buccaneers collapse to steve

NEVER assume that Duemig's version of events is the accurate one.

Ha calling his coach by a nickname in the media?

I wonder what would happen if a Patriot called Belichick "hodie" or "bb" or even just Bill?

Or if a player called Parcells "tuna" when he was their coach.

No matter how you look at it.... Rah is just not building a good situation.

I'm reserving my own judgement on Talib. The cabby incident happened after TC broke and is not resolved yet. Why is this? It’s not like the Bucs have any influence in Tampa.
After Sunday's game, in London, Talib supposedly went to dinner with other players AND their wives and was confronted by Raheem Morris when they were returning to their rooms (late). If Rah can stand by and let a thug (can't manage strike through) er player cuss him out even in jest he isn't much of a coach. He really hasn't proven to have any of Gruden or Dungy's maturity so how can player’s respect him?

    dahawkster8 ...

quit being naive. the fine citizen talib has done his fair share of twinkie eating and smoking grass in his past - just check his experience at ku and the nfl combine.

heard him on a sports talk show here in kc last summer and he's about as dumb as a rock ... the guy might have some skill, but the elevator doesn't go all the way to the top with this guy.

    dahawkster813:
Not like I care, but since you brought it up, Talib smoked plenty of grass when he was here in Lawrence.
