Tyrone Hartsfield has been found guilty of attempted first degree murder in the shooting of former Jaguars offensive lineman Richard Collier.
The six-person jury found Hartsfield guilty after a deliberation of two hours and 45 minutes. Hartsfield could be sentenced to life in prison.
Prosecutors said Hartsfield followed Collier's car from a nightclub and shot him as revenge for Collier knocking Hartsfield out in a nightclub fight in April.
Collier was set to enter the 2008 season as the Jaguars' left tackle before he was shot on September 2 of that year. The shooting left Collier paralyzed from the waist down, and one of his legs was amputated.
Collier was in court Thursday and watched the reading of the verdict, sitting in his wheelchair.

Sooo... do we get to cut off one of this jerkoff's legs now? I'm not for capital punishment, and usually I don't believe in vengeance, but maybe I'll join the red states on this one.(still opposed to racism, "don't take my wealth if I ever get off my ass long enough to acquire it," and pride in being uneducated.)
I shall go hug a tree now.
Peace and love to the Collier family. Hopefully they have now gotten some semblance of closure.
Hope this provides some closure for Big Rich. Justice has been served.
The POS can now rot in jail. Stay Strong Mr Collier
Yes, he should have a leg cut off.
Not to get preachy, but violence causes violence..too bad the coward had to bring a gun.
I don't see how these pro athletes could even go out.
Animal.
No one can call this justice.
Where is the criminal going to come up with the money for restitution?
He is liable for the loss of a high paying job with a pension, an amputation, and lifetime in a wheel chair.
Crimminals cause so much pain and loss to society and then expect that same society to feed, house, and clothe them for the rest of their lives.
Capital punishment eliminates all future costs to society of the criminal. Punishment should not be reduced because he had poor aim.
Hang him!!
I am glad this moron is being sent to jail because he doesn't deserve freedom after what he did to Richard Collier. I feel awful for him. It's terrible seeing someone's football career end as early as his did all because a awful event that shouldn't of taken place.
Keep going strong Mr. Collier!
Big Rich is lucky to be alive. Hopefully this does bring him some closure.
Good luck, Big Rich. Your positive attitude about life is an inspiration to many.
Richard Collier brought this upon himself. He goes out to night clubs and gets into fights knowing that he is 2x bigger than anyone else there and he knocks the other guy out not caring about the size difference. What did he think would happen? He knocked the wrong guy out this time and because he's so big he was thinking he was superman but now he knows he's not. It's very unfortunate for this to happen to him but he shouldn't have been knocking people out at night clubs.
Must we forgot that Collier instigated his own injuries. Stop making excuses for this man. He is a NFL Pro Football Player who goes around in clubs acting invinsible. I don't believe this man shot him. But I do believe that he was probably involved in something he had no business doing. But I see everyone wants to feel sad for him. He got what he deserve Collier was no innocent man in this situation. He made his bed and now he has to lay in it. No matter how bad it is.
