So what’s wrong with realignment? The League clearly didn’t consult Rand-McNally the last time around. This would be an opportunity to fix some mistakes (how does Dallas qualify as East?
Here’s a suggestion:
NFC
North: Vikings, Packers, Bears, Lions
East: Giants, Redskins, Eagles, Rams
South: Saints, Buccaneers, Panthers, Falcons
West: Seahawks, Cardinals, 49ers, Cowboys
AFC
North: Steelers, Browns, Bills, Colts
East: Patriots, Jets, Ravens, Bengals
South: Dolphins, Texans, Titans, Chiefs
West: Chargers, Raiders, Denver, Los Angeles
It’s not perfect, I know, but if geography is your criteria, this is about as close as it’s going to get.
(Personally, I’d prefer an NFC team in L.A., but we’ll take what we can get, I suppose)

Everyday I read people that comment on Jax on this site proves to me that rats have to be smarter that 90% of the human species. “Jax should not have gotten a team”, “the market’s too small”, “the stadium’s too big”, “the team suck”, “the pick of a jaguar as a mascot”, blah, blah blah.
You idiots are the reason REAL fans hate little football bloggers, fantasy geeks who read headlines and run with it. I know most you can’t count but Jax SOLD OUT EVERY GAME( #19 in attandance out of 32 teams, look it up) last year and pretty much every year for that matter. I know all of you wealthy people on here can’t imagine what it’s like to have to pay a mortgage and put food on the table before football tickets, but the average person has to make a decision.
Now with that being said it’s not all economy, it’s also the ownership, coaching staff and team not putting a quality product on the field. Regardless there should be support win or lose for a team, but in Jax it is what it is. Carolina Panthers came into the league the same year as the Jags and had early success just like the Jags. The difference is Carolina have pretty much been consistent, where we haven’t.
Jax were predicted to go to the SUPER BOWL in 2008 after that beating Pittsburgh in the 2007 playoffs. The Jags were the toast of the league. All the NFL pundits thought so. Then the team lays a turd in 2008. There’s the inconsistency I’m talking about. Now I’m a REAL football fan and I support this tean win or lose, but the only thing that will help this team now is give fans something to get excited about by WINNING NOWand WINNING CONSISTENTLY. By the way, all of you FAKE football fans and computer geeks, don’t bother writing about Jax on this site until you do a little research . Oh yeah, TRICKBUNNY and FAN OF FOOTBALL do socitey a favor and go back at get your GED’s.

You’re the fool if you think that something as inconsequential as divisional alignment would be a roadblock for moving the Jags to L.A. It’s not like the AFC South has some glorious history with storied rivalries.
The Cowboys play in the NFC East, well over 1,000 miles away from it’s closest NFC East rival… The St. Louis Cardinals moved to Arizona and remained in the NFC East way back when. The Falcons played in the NFC West. The Seahawks moved from the AFC to NFC West. etc etc etc. Non issue.

The only way you MAY be able to make it work is to put Kansas City in the South, but then you lose a lot of the rivalries they have with West teams.

I live in DC and am a Cowboys fan, despise the Redskins but when I heard that they were selling tickets for 8 bucks a pop I would definately go. I dont care who is playing, I am a football fan and will watch any teams duke it out and enjoy the experience. Jacksonville people just dont care obviously.

The Miami Dolphins have the lowest seats for season ticket holders in the endzone at $29.00 per seat. If the Bills/Phins can do it, then there should be no reason why the Jags can not do it either. Both clubs historically sell out and both teams have very low seat prices. The phins just lowered the club level in the endzones to $82.00 per seat also…To the Jags, it is called marketing.

I have been to two games in Jax, both marquee MNF matchups (2006 vs. Giants, 2007 vs. Indy). I sat within 20 rows of the field and paid no more than $75 either time. Ticket prices are NOT the problem.
Fact is that as expansion teams go, Jacksonville has been very successful on the field. It’s easy to forget that not too long ago, in the 2007-08 playoffs, this was a team that went into Pittsburgh and beat the Steelers in the playoffs on their home field (in addition to doing the same in the regular season).
So if it’s not ticket prices, and not (necessarily) the product on the field, what is it? My guess is complacency. I’ve heard time and again folks defending Jacksonville saying that there is no way the team will leave, because every team that’s moved in the last 15 years has moved strictly because of stadium issues.
Well, just because it HASN’T happened, doesn’t mean it WON’t happen. That kind of complacency, and taking their team for granted, could lead to Jax having no NFL team, and no chance of ever getting one again. This is definitely a crossroads for the organization, whether Jags fans want to admit it or not. Wayne Weaver is shown he is willing to be loyal to Jacksonville and do whatever it takes to keep the team their. It’s time for Jacksonville to do the same.

The Jags AVERAGE ticket price might be 3rd lowest, but their problem is the pricing tiers.
They don’t charge nearly enough for the good seats (lower sidelines) and they charge way too much for the bad seats (upper corners and endzones).
People who sit 20 rows from the field at the 50 yard line are only paying like $45 more per ticket than people in the nosebleeds at the goalline.
That’s what the problem is – unless you have one of the best 20,000 seats in the stadium you’re getting ripped off.

How often do you hear the words, “The stadium has TO MANY seats”???
If the jags cover up 10,000 seats, they become the lowest capacity stadium in the NFL at 57,000.
The Jags are not a bad team. If they have problems selling out the lowest capacity stadium in the NFL during a good season, then they cant stay. Its not just seats, if they wont buy a game ticket, how many will spend cash for Jaguar merchandise?
The NFL is a business. If nothing changes, it will simply be “good buisness” to move the team.

That’s why I said some of, first.
My tickets are in the 400′s (I of course.. don’t sit there now. I sit in the lower bowl since it’s empty) and there is absolutely nothing wrong with them. I set 5 rows from the literal top on about the 20 yard line.
@cheekychappmusic they cannot lower ticket prices anymore than they have. They don’t break even where the prices are now when they WERE selling out the place, lowering it more wouldn’t help.
People in Jacksonville are too dumb to realize how much losing the Jaguars will further cripple the local economy. If they lose the Jaguars, it’s back to a straight up military base town with a beach.

Here’s an idea that might just work, crazy as it sounds;
How about the Jaguars putting together a truly competitive team, with good coaching of solid players? Nutty idea, but I’ve heard that it’s worked in other cities, in many different sports.
The theory behind this is that if you have a team that makes a serious run at a title, being competitive with other quality NFL teams, people might actually WANT to spend money on tickets to see your team play.
Hey, give it a try I say, what have you got to lose?

Cheap tickets are fine but if the team is competitive all those problems fade away. It is too late for a “rebuilding” program in Jacksonville, the fans won’t have the patience and at this point they will never believe it until they see it on the field.
L.A. would have that 4-5 year honeymoon window where seats will sell no matter what the team is doing.
Move them to L.A., clean house and rebuild. If you do it right, L.A. will have a team they can support a few years down the road.

Other cities have corporations that buy tickets for employee rewards. Jacksonville has little corporate support (Blue Cross, and CSX are among the few). The economy sucks. The seats in the 400 level sucks (and I have been to other stadiums and their higher seats are far better than the ones in Jax), and the stadium is among the biggest in the league.
I am not an economist, but if my product is not selling, I reduce the price to the point where it will, even if they have to just ‘break even’ for a while. I believe that is something called leader pricing, where they can make up for their loss of revenue with the sales of other products in the stadium (beer and food). If the tickets were reasonable, and the economy was healthier where I could afford to go, I would go to Jags games (and I am a Dolphin fan).
But I will say this: I lived in LA when both the Rams and Raiders moved. LA WILL NEVER support a team – there are too many entertainment options at a cheaper price. Especially out in the middle of nowhere (City of Industry). NBA and MLB tickets are cheaper than NFL tickets. If the Jags leave, no one wins.
