Ty Law returns

As the Denver Broncos attempt to continue to build upon an unexpectedly strong start to the season, they’re getting some help from one of the better cornerbacks of the past two decades.

Ty Law.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Law has reached an agreement in principle with the Broncos.

Law confirmed the news directly to Schefter.

Next step? Schefter reports that Law is on his way to Denver to take a physical. If he passes, he’ll be back in the NFL, on a team that has a chance to make some noise in the postseason.

After ten seasons with the Patriots, Law spent 2005 with the Jets, 2006 and 2007 with the Chiefs, and 2008 with the Jets. His 52 career interceptions put him only two more pickoffs out of the all-time top 20.

The only active player in the top 20 is Darren Sharper of the Saints. With 61, he’s only three away from cracking the all-time top five.
