Crowder, Ferguson ruled out for Patriots game

The sagging defense of the Miami Dolphins will have to try to win in Foxborough without two key starters.

Nose tackle Jason Ferguson and linebacker Channing Crowder were both downgraded to out Saturday.  Ferguson's backup Paul Soliai had a career game against the Jets last week and will hold down the fort in the middle.  Reggie Torbor will start in Crowder's place.

With a young quarterback and shaky wide receivers, the Dolphins need their defense to step up down the stretch this season.  Thus far, they have consistently struggled to finish out games.

While stopping the Patriots with two rookie cornerbacks and other missing parts won't be easy, the Dolphins can still alive in the AFC East with a victory.  Miami is 3-0 in the division thus far.

Let the excuses flow on why the Dolphins will get their asses kicked!!

Lucky win last week, Jests beat them up and down the field.

Keep talking Joey because thats all he can do since he SUCKS. The Steelers knew when to dump his sorry ass. 12 tackles this year??And Miami signs him for 5 million a year.

Crowder is no loss as he shouldn't be starting anyway - very poor tackler and always in the wrong position.

Fergie is a big loss. Here's hoping Sumo has a great game!

MF - PLEASE fix the comment/logout issue. It is really annoying to have to re-type everything or remember to copy it because your system indicates I am logged in and then refuses my comment because I am "logged out." Can't it just leave me logged in? I know this is happening to others.

I complained like this so many times I got an e-mail about it.

They didn't fix the problem, but the e-mail was nice.

@ampats: seems like the once very nice PATS fans (im from boston, born and raised) have changed a bit. Your sounding more like a J-E-T-S fan....

WIll be a tough game, the Patriots are always tough, but to crown them already is a bit early. We beat the JETS twice, and the Patriots lost to them already. So whose to say we can't win. Will it be easy? Absolutely not. We need to try and experiment with Pat White in this game, just like we did with the wildcat last year. I think thats why Sparano said their babying him, to keep the Patriots thinking he wont be a major part of the offense. Who knows? SHould be a good game.

With a little luck, Crowder's injury will be season-ending. He's an absolute stiff. His next big play will be his first. I can't believe they re-signed a guy who never impacts a game..................ever.

Last year the Dolphins surprised me quite unpleasantly with their performance in Foxboro,

I'm not counting that chicken before it hatches this year.

The Dolphins are worthy of respect ( expect Porter - he's an ***hole ).

Rosenthal, do you actually read your posts before posting them?

Crowder is, however, still listed as "probable" to kick Florio's a$$.

Going for a Pulitzer there dude or do you all just hope the logging in issues overshadow your prose?

BB had 2 weeks to prepare for this game!
When the Phins unrolled the "Wildcat" last year, it caught the Patriots completely off guard!

The Patriots were completely embaressed in thier own house! It was a hard loss to swallow. Props to Sparono and Parcells for unveiling it!

Now, I sense a little payback from BB...
In addition, the Patriot defense is a lot younger and faster. A healthy Wilfork, Mayo and Guyton will nail the "Wildcat" at the line and stop it in it's tracks. The key is to set the edge and seal the middle. The Patriot LB's are sideline to sideline fast. The single wing won't work today.

One thing that will work today is the Patriot passing game. 17 long yardage plus plays in the last few games from the Phins secondary...Bombs away my Brotha....
