At a time when some might believe that the NFL and the Oakland Raiders would be unable to get on the same page on any issue, the league and the team continue to work closely together regarding the appropriate response to recent allegations of domestic violence against coach Tom Cable.
The process, we’re told, is ongoing, and no quick answer is expected.
As we’ve previously pointed out, the issue poses a serious dilemma, requiring the NFL and the Raiders to balance the importance of eliminating domestic violence and the apparent unfairness of punishing a coach for something that happened years before the coach was hired in any capacity by the team.
So don’t expect any of the Sunday pregame shows to have the scoop on where this one is heading. For now, no one really knows.
