Packers center/guard Jason Spitz had a strong start to the last year of his rookie contract, winning the team’s starting job in training camp. But he couldn’t shake a persistent back injury, and the team placed him on injured reserve Saturday, ending his season.
The team called up wide receiver Biren Ealy to replace Spitz on the roster. Ealy is likely to fill the team’s fourth receiver role this week, unless Donald Driver is an unexpected scratch.
Spitz was drafted in 2006 along with Daryn Colledge in the first 75 picks; the two were expected to lead a youth movement on Green Bay’s offensive line. (Tony Moll, now with Baltimore, was taken in the fifth round that year.)
I hope Rodgers medical insurance is paid up…..I predict at LEAST 5 sacks tomorrow…….

Jordy Nelson is injured and out, Jake Allen who was called up from the practice squad last week is questionable and Finley while technically a TE, he basically is 4th and 5th receiver in a lot of the plays. Do you actually follow the Packers or just spew drivel like you know what you’re talking about?

5 Sacks from a team that has only 11 on the season and had only two against Buffalo’s joke of an offense seems at the very least unlikely.

Viking fans talk all this smack about Packer fans, but you guys are pathetic. You talk and talk, but in the end, you have absolutely nothing to show for. Its like you have little dick symdrom. Dayum you are funny. 3 years ago I would bet you were one of those that were BEGGING Favre to stay in GB and not retire. Then when he wanted to come back, I bet you were one of those that signed the numerous petitions to get GB management to bring him back.
The ONLY reason you are hating on Favre now is because he is a Viking.

Every prediction you have made so far this year has NOT come true. Time to face the realization that this year, the Vikings are a hella team, and that the Packers have serious problems on their team. Once you realize that, games will become much more enjoyable for you!
What sucks more. Going to Lambeau Field and seeing 12 champiomship banners or to some basketball arena in Minnesota and looking at zero banners.

If the GB line got that good, they could give Rodgers 10 seconds to find receivers and open holes that the fridge could run through each and every time! LOL
Rodgers is not terrible, but neither is he the top 5 QB that some Packer fans say he is. Not yet anyway. If GB doesn’t get some help for him soon, he may never develop into a top 20 QB!
I love all these Vikings “fans” coming out of the woodwork. Too bad they aren’t buying any tickets to the game and relying on local TV stations to bail them out. Real, true “fans”.
TT needs to be raiding somebody’s practice squad for some O lineman. I know we are getting thin at reciever but it’s the O line that is showing to be thin on game day. I have a lot of respect for Tausher and Clifton but I really don’t see them staying healthy for the rest of the season.
Packers are a terrible team, playing in a terrible city for a terrible coach and a terrible GM. McCarthy is losing control of the team as they are one of the most penalized teams in the NFL. All Rodgers can do is run for his life behind that pathetic offensive line. There are colleges that have better o-lines than the Packers. The 3-4 experiment under Capers is a joke. When you play a team twice and one team has 14 sacks and the other team has zero, there’s something wrong. Thompson should be fired for the awful product on the field. The only thing Packer fans are good at is remembering the past. Scoreboard this year belongs to the Vikings. The Vikings are better at every position and it kills Packer fans to admit it.
Lots of Vikings fans running around these days . . . Where have you guys been?
