Miles Austin only had one catch Sunday night against the Eagles, but he made it count.
Dallas' number one receiver (sorry Roy) made Eagles cornerback Sheldon Brown look bad on a double move, then sped away from three defenders for a 49-yard touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to key a 20-16 Cowboys victory in Philadelphia.
The talk radio crowd will likely fixate on Eagles coach Andy Reid's decision to kick a 52-yard field goal with under five minutes to go to cut the lead to four. The Eagles had no timeouts left, so the decision was highly questionable. But the odds on Philadelphia converting a 4th-and-11 weren't that high, even if it would have been nice to find out.
We're more concerned with Reid's mismanagement of his replay reviews and timeouts earlier in the half. Philadelphia had no timeouts left with more than ten minutes remaining.
Both teams have tough road games next week. Dallas, now 6-2, will try to stay in first place in the NFC East when they travel to Lambeau Field; Philadelphia will go to San Diego to face a Chargers team that is on a three game winning streak.
Another Austin score leads Cowboys to victory

Don't forget guys, Romo chokes in pressure situations. He also can't win big games....but I guess this wasn't a big game once they won. Ha. Just wanted to preemptively say, Shut it Eagles fans/Cowboys haters......good game all around,...let this one sit in for a while. Come on Green Bay
We all know that those challenges by Andy Reid should have been overturned. Those were both terrible spots and there was ample evidence to turn the calls around. Refs seriously annoy me sometimes when they think they made the right call all the time. I really wish the NFL used a college-type review booth.
anybody want to take bets on whether Florio mans up and finally gives the Cowboys some credit now? apparently eagles were supposed to win by at least 10 points or something. excited to see the posts from Florio on this one.
If you are going tokick the FG with no time outs, I'd rather see it followed up by an onsides kick. And if you aren't going to try an onsides kick, at least play the run on when on D
I'm not concerned with Reid's mismanagement of his replay reviews , I'm elated! Thanks Reid!
The only mismanagement of replay reviews was by the officials. Eagles got jobbed on both of those calls.
Hey now, Roy Williams caught 5 for 75 and did some great downfield blocking. He may not be #1 in terms of production but you wanna know something? All that matters tonight is that he's a winner. Kinda icing on the cake that he outplayed Maclin and Jackson.
Where's all the garbage mouth fagle fans now? i guess Andy can go home now and see to his hoodlum kids.
20-13 and then Andy Reid kicks a field goal.
Game over.
lulz.
Dallas found a way to keep Romo from screwing up in the Red Zone and the end of the game -- wild cat and the knee.
people are going to complain about the spot that donovan got on that sneak, but watch the replay one more time and focus on the left elbow of Donovan. You cant see it at first but then his elbow becomes visible an its touching the ground before he slides all the way down. You cant overturn that call because who knows when that left elbow even first touched the ground. when you look at it closely the left elbow is down and it was the right call.
Another great day as a Cowboys fan. All the other teams in the division lost, and we beat the Eagles in Phili. The only difference between us and Eagles fans is that we don't have to end every post with 20-16...we've won 5 superbowls. In the end, that's all that matters.
Its alright. We all know come December the Eagles will still be putting up W's and the Cowboys will be choking. Week 17 is going to be great!
the bad spots decided that game
Its funny you guys bring up every questionable call in every game. But have nothing to say about all the terrible calls in this game?
looking at the way the Packers are playing at the moment, it doesn't sound that daunting any more...
Hey Eagles fans, I quote Shaq. "How does my @ss taste?" Hahahahahaha. Romo sucks, huh? Hahahaha. Enjoy that last league championship that happened in the Eisenhower administration. Hahahaha.
It was pretty quiet in Philadelphia tonight. The crowd never really got into it except when they were booing McNabb.
I wonder if Reid called Aikman at halftime.
the other thing is even if refs give donovan that first down, eagles fans are assuming eagles are for sure going to score a td. they would have had the ball at the 44 yard line and not even in field goal range. eagles could have gone three and out after that and not pick up a yard. anything could have happened if they were given the first down. assuming a td was going to follow is stretching it a little bit. sounds more like an excuse as to why they lost the game then just manning up and taking the loss.
and again, look at the replay, left elbow was down.
LOL @ all the whining and excuse making by the Eagles fans who were SO cocky last week.
I love it. Keep it up. It's what losers do best.
Florio is going to continue his Cowboys hate, just look at his comments at the end of his 'talk' show. He continues his long standing total disrespct for Romo and all things Cowboys related.
Cowboys had extra players on the field thoughout the whole game..
the referees
"Its funny you guys bring up every questionable call in every game. But have nothing to say about all the terrible calls in this game?"
Yeah, like the non-call on the PI against Roy Williams in your end zone. Florio will whine plenty tomorrow, don't worry.
PFT, man up. Instead of writing stories based off of real journalists, free think and apologize ... for being Cowboys haters. It wasn't the Superbowl, but then again, it was a solid win. Actually, quite a few wins. And quite a few PFT wrong's.
Roy Williams was held and no PI was called on Samuel in the endzone.
Jason Witten gets called for PI for simply making a cut away from the clutching/grabbing Mikell.
They did catch the hometown clock operator trying to set the play clock to 25 seconds. Typical Eagle fan - cheating, choking, happy with mediocrity.
No worries here. Dallas was due to pin one on Philly. The 'boys will be crapping out in December as usual.
Take solace Philly, the Giants lost (and look lost).
And the Redskins are a punchline.
Florio..where are the snide comments about the Cowboys and Romo?? 44-6 remember? Can't win the big one...remember?? Very concise blurb on the win, and some nice blame on Reid and his challenges. Two words for you-suck it.
44-6, 44-6, 44-6.... Gues it doesn't matter much anymore huh Eagle fans? It's funny I don't see a damn Eagle fan on here talking garbage this morning but I gurandamntee you that had they won they would be calling us Cowboy fans idiots, morons and words far worse that they would allow. Worst fans in the NFL hands down.
Now that rant is over.... Florio I said it twice last week and I'll say it again, you continue to prove that you are biased against the Cowboys and in love with anyone who plays them. Even this article doesn't really mention anything that would show you guys think that Dallas is that hot right now. It is sad what MSNBC does to you.
As for the refs... I actually agree. The spot calls are hard to over turn though. The one play where McCoy came back after the catch was wrong though. Instead of 4th and inches it should have been 4th and 2 or 3. The second one is hard to decide because of the left elbow issue. Either way the officials couldnt stop throwing the yellow flags against either team and both had a few BS calls.
Either way, Romo out dueled the prescious McNabb, Williams and Austin outplayed the speedy "greatest thing since sliced bread" receivers of Philly and Dallas proved to be the best team not only in the NFC East, but pending a game against the Saints, the best in the NFC. Hate on Philly fans, the only thing good to come out of your city is Rocky and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Sorry Buzzard fans, you lost your Superbowl last night. To all those who do not understand Philly fan's mental state....since they have NEVER WON A SUPERBOWL, they consider a victory over Dallas a Superbowl victory. How 'bout them Cowboys?!
This game was too close for comfort and The Cowboys, under the leadership of Uncle Wade (who looked like someone misplaced his medication all game), lacked consistency and gave up opportunities to pull away.
A win is a win but there has to be more consistency. This division is too tight.
And Coach Reid going for the fg instead at the end of the game...he really thought there would be no math involved in coaching. Ha, ha.
Whatever.
So, the Cowgirls won.....wait a minute......let's see.....oh yeah, it's November....not December yet. Of course the Cowgirls won. Come December, they'll fall flat on their faces with the turnover machine at QB and that ridiculous cartoon character for a head coach, like they always do.
Ah yes.....things will be back to normal soon! 13 seasons and counting.
Get a clue Eagles fans and stop whining and crying about the refs. 11 years and Andy still can't manage a clock and McNabb still can't bring a team back in the 4th. I am a huge Eagles fan but I am tired of Reid's excuses and saying that it's his fault and he'll correct it. WHEN?? It's been 11 years of this crap. Do the Colts, Steelers or Patriots EVER have these problems??
Dallas has a tough road game ahead ? Didn't you just say they play Green Bay ?
Florio, how can you call GB a tough road game for Dallas? Dallas is gonna go into Lambeau Field next week and kick their a$$. I can see it now, Romo passes for over 300 yards with 4 TD passes 2 to which Austin Miles takes to the house with over 100 yards receiving, and Barber has over 100 on the ground with another TD or 2. GB is not even close to being a good team, they suck in all facets.
To the Cowboy fans on here, have fun next week in GB. It is so easy to put points on that defense, and that OL, Ware is going to have a field day sacking Rodgers all day long. Should be fun to watch for Cowboy fans, Viking fans, Bear fans, and even Lion fans. :)
@ katmandu
Obviously you are an Eagles fan and realized that, at least for now, the 44-6 argument doesn't matter much. You had to go to the lame "it's November so of course Dallas is going to win" argument. It's almost like you and your other fellow Eagle fans went on damage control and fired up your social networking profiles to get something in order for a defense. Why can't you admit that your team lost to the Raiders and should have lost by more last night. Romo played like crap last night and the O-Line for Dallas couldnt stop that pass rush and they STILL won. Your QB is pathetic and your coach is too fat to see his junk (I realize that has nothing to do with his coaching abilities).
Disclaimer: Wade Phillips is also that fat and shows absolutely no emotion at all.
its ok eagle fans, you've outscored the cowboys 60-26 in the last 2 meetings. so that can be your new mantra instead of counting days since the dallas won a playoff game..stay classy.
can people start to believe in romo now, guy is good, deal with it.
Listening to cowboy haters whine about not getting rulings reversed is not as satisfying as how quiet it is in DC after the skins lose to the cowboys, but it will do for now.
Great effort last night. Read between the lines.
Typical Dallas Cowboy fan...hooting & hollering about one small victory! Hell, one idiot fan is obsessed with a PASS ATTEMPTS record! Sorry, WE Philly fans actually have JOBS and don't have the time to post in the wee hours of the morning!
Walt Coleman(aka the clueless ref) couldn't even distinguish between offense and defense during this game...do you actually expect him to overturn a call, TWICE?? We all know that McNabb, clearly had that 1st down but who knows what would have happened.
At least I CAN MAN UP and say Dallas outplayed us, barely! There is one Dallas fan, who likes to post fake profiles, that can't admit to his team's shortcomings!
It's okay, you see December is looming and that's when Rom-O-Choke....well CHOKES!!
Congrats on a small victory, but we'll see who wins the war!

------------------------------------------------------
Just look at Florio's comments dissing Romo and Dallas at the end of his Sunday night 'talkfest', that's where the snide comments went. (he predicted a 10+ point Eagles win).
Not sure why Eagles fans think that first call should have been overturned on review. The Eagles player clearly ran back under his own power, he was trying to set up a run for more yardage and screwed up. If anything the spot was too generous, he actually went down 2-3 yds in front of the sticks, not 6 inches from them.
That was one Ugly Game! 20-16 is hardly an asskicking but it was a win for you and in the end thats what matters.
So go ahead and Crow because this was your big game, its only midseason, we'll be back and healthy see you then.
Well......where do I start.....maybe with the song Fly (CRY) Like An Eagle. E-Gals fans just STOP...stop blaming the refs...symbolic of your team, coach and city...you don't hear Cowboys fans crying about the 3 GHOST pass interference calls on us or the lack of a holding call on Roy Williams in the endzone ....man up and stop with all the whining........you lost.... good day to be a Cowboys fan. ..........By the way did you all see how Asante Samuel avoided making tackles after he got knocked in the head. Good coaching decision to put him back in the game. Then again pretty good E-Gals coaching at the end of the game, too.
For the last freaking time -- calls are only overturned if there is INDISPUTABLE evidence that the call was wrong. Not one of those challenged calls showed that beyond any doubt whatsoever they were wrong. If there is a question, it stands. If maybe it is wrong, it stands. If it could maybe go the other way, it stands. Period.
So the calls stood and Reid was an idiot to throw that last challenge. It would not have helped even if he won and it cost them their last time out.
at halftime all i was hearing were complaints about the no call on roy williams
@ Rickahh
Obviously we all dont know that he had the 1st down because no one except for a Philly fan who is dillusional like you could see his left elbow that was hidden. What kind of an argument do you make? You cant just wave your Harry Potter wand and say the word obvious and use that as evidence. I was wating for a Philly fan to get on here and say something stupid and you won the award.
And congrats on being one of the Philly fans who have jobs. If you were a real fan watching the game would have kept you up to the wee hours of the night, or morning. Nothing you said makes any sense and I cannot begin to imagine how you survive the simplicities of day to day life and reasoning. As far as the Ref getting one mistake where he said defense rather than offense.. the guy clearly looked scared, he knew that if he made a call against the Eagles that the classy Philly fans would throw batteries and beer at him. The class of your city is amazing.
Get over the Romo choke thing, I think statistics will show that McNabb has choked far more in the playoffs and becamse too tired to win a superbowl. Move on fool
#1. As much as it was harped on, I'm surprised we weren't treated to a replay of the 44-6 game last year. After Romo throws for over 300 yards, Andrea Kramer's first question was about exorcising the 44-6 game.
#2. Thank you so much for the slurping segement that felt like it lasted over half of a quarter on Brian Westbrook. There were several plays that happened during your E:60 that I would've loved to see the replays on. Westbrook is a class act, but come on...
#3. I know you can mute the TV, but I would mortgage the house for a remote control that can mute only Cris Collinsworth. Easily the most annoying broadcaster in sports. His delivery is Jaworski-esk in that he will take the easiest thing to spot and break down. Then he will proceed to enjoy the sound of his own voice for the next 10 minutes.
#4. Yes, I am a Cowboys fan, but I admit the officiating was heinous with the Cowboys getting the benefit of most calls. The play where the Eagles WR came back for the ball was a good call. QB sneak by Donovan, bad spot. The taunting call might have been wrong, but it look like he was taunting him.
"Ah yes.....things will be back to normal soon! 13 seasons and counting."
Normal would be the Eagirls missing the playoffs with a losing record.
"Typical Dallas Cowboy fan...hooting & hollering about one small victory!"
And how long have we heard "44-6"?
"Hell, one idiot fan is obsessed with a PASS ATTEMPTS record! Sorry, WE Philly fans actually have JOBS and don't have the time to post in the wee hours of the morning!"
Yep. Burgers don't flip themselves.
"At least I CAN MAN UP and say Dallas outplayed us, barely! There is one Dallas fan, who likes to post fake profiles, that can't admit to his team's shortcomings!"
You just blamed the loss on the refs!
"It's okay, you see December is looming and that's when Rom-O-Choke....well CHOKES!!
Congrats on a small victory, but we'll see who wins the war!"
The Eagirls are the French of the NFL. They've never won jack and are basically surrender bunnies walking around on two legs.
These fagle fans keep talking about choking in dec and jan.im 55 yrs old and as i remember the fagles have been choking in dec and january since 1960.the only fagle Qb who has choked more than Mcflab is Mcjaws.
Going for 3 pts when you need a touchdown is still puzzling . almost as puzzling as going for 3 pts when you are down by 41.
Walt Coleman is a business man from Little Rock, and a Cowboys fan. Hey! isn't that where Jerry is from?
one bad spot (mcscabbs sneak) and one bad call (taunting on assante samuel) did not win/lose the game. Dallas' D especially the DBs played way better than people thought they would they were the diference. no big plays from jackson or maclin. mike jenkins and gerald sensabaugh played awesome. And it was nice to see how scared samuel was to even get near a dallas ball carrier after getting almost knocked out by a knee.

"Typical Dallas Cowboy fan...hooting & hollering about one small victory!"
Perhaps its because all the Philthadelphia fans were talking so much Ish earlier this week, about how the Eagirls were gonna stomp Dallas (you were one of them, so was East96). You can't have it both ways. Dallas fans at least waited until after the Cowboys came in your house, pushed you around all day, and left you with nothing but a tall glass of SUCK IT to drink, before we started talking smack. One small victory? Please, like you wouldn't be doing the same if the Eagles won. Only they didn't, so deal with it.
"Sorry, WE Philly fans actually have JOBS and don't have the time to post in the wee hours of the morning!"
LMAO, sounds like sour grapes to me. You're not fooling anyone. Had the Eagirls won, Philly fans would been the first to log in and Gloat. Take off your green and white skirt, and man up instead of trying to b*itch out.
"Walt Coleman(aka the clueless ref) couldn't even distinguish between offense and defense during this game...do you actually expect him to overturn a call, TWICE?? "
.Bad officiating is no excuse. If you don't have the game solidly in hand, that's on you. If you play your ass off and do your part, it doesn't come down to a perceived set of bad calls. There were plenty of bad calls on both sides of the ball.
"At least I CAN MAN UP and say Dallas outplayed us, barely! There is one Dallas fan, who likes to post fake profiles, that can't admit to his team's shortcomings!"
Saying Dallas beat the Eagles, barely, is not manning up. Dallas handled the Eagles all game long. Dallas had the lead almost the entire game. Dallas outplayed Philly all night. I know it's hard to admit, I know you won't, but that's ok because everyone knows it. As for Vox and the fake profile stuff, well Vox is a fanatic. Most of us Dallas fans aren't like that, just as most Philly fans probably don't throw batteries at people, or snowballs at Santa.
"It's okay, you see December is looming and that's when Rom-O-Choke....well CHOKES!!"
Hahaha, this is what you mean by manning up?
Sounds like someone is still bitter and salty.
"Congrats on a small victory, but we'll see who wins the war!"
You really should be worrying more about the Eagirls playing like they did against Oakland and Dallas, rather than winning any wars. When you choke against Oakland, and can't even score two TD's in your own house, the only thing you're going to win is a ticket 2nd place in the NFC east.
But, you can always cling to that 44-6 game from last year, zero superbowl trophies, and Andy Reid if that helps you get through the week.
Chapnasty: "I gurandamntee you that had they won they would be calling us Cowboy fans idiots, morons and words far worse that they would allow. Worst fans in the NFL hands down."

Absolutely agree w/your review of Collinsworth. Can't stand his soapbox banter.

My question regarding the bad sneak spot: I thought it was where forward momentum was stopped? I don't care where his elbows touched! Last I checked, his damn shoulders and ball were in front of his elbow.

Give credit where credit is due. Cowboys won this round. This isn't the end of the season. Were there bad calls? Yes. Both sides? Yes.
Does that mean I like any Cowboys fans because I admit you won the game? Hell no! Just means I have to listen to more shiznit from delusional fans that haven't won a playoff game in a decade..........and THAT sucks more than the loss!!
"As for Vox and the fake profile stuff, well Vox is a fanatic."
WHY would you believe these mental midgets when they talk that crap?

I know for a Dallas fan, who hasn't had a playoff win in 13 years, beating the Eagles in week 9 is a lot like winning a playoff game. But guess what? Our mantra is still going to be "Win a playoff game before you talk smack". Don't need to change it, because your QB is a choke machine and Poppin' Fresh can't coach his way out of the month of December.

"Guess what, our mantra is still gonna be "win a superbowl before you talk trash".
Superbowl trophies matter more than winning -a- playoff game. And last I checked, all you bitchez who are fans of the girlie green and white got none.
As far a the choke machine, hahah, we just choked the life out of p*ssies last night. And it was for first place. So keep on sucking on Andy Reid's fat manboobs. Maybe after another 4-5 challenges, you'll get a first down.
"I know for a Dallas fan, who hasn't had a playoff win in 13 years, beating the Eagles in week 9 is a lot like winning a playoff game. But guess what? Our mantra is still going to be "Win a playoff game before you talk smack"."
Mine will be "win a Super Bowl or STFU". Then if any when that unlikely miracle-of-all-miracles happens, win four more.
20-16. Asante in a skirt. Why was he even out there? No wonder the Cowboys won, they were playing against 10 men and a $57 million scared little girl. I expected Romo to be arrested on aggravated child abuse charges after the game.
Plenty of blown/bad calls.
The taunting call on Samuel wasn't "taunting", but thats what you get for bending down to talk into the facemask of an opposing player, no matter how innocent it is.
The Offensive PI call against Witten was a terrible call seeing as he just pushed the defenders hands away from his body.
The 1st challenged play with the Eagle's defender running back on his own was a good call, on the review it should have been moved back a yard or so, however.
The 2nd challenged play was questionable, but not considering the rules of challenging and overturning plays. It was far too close to overturn, as McNabbs left elbow definitely looked like it was down at the bottom of the pile.
Obvious no-call on the last minute drive at the half, with Samuel holding R.William's left arm back. Gotta love Deion Sanders comment after the game "You don't call that on Pro-Bowl players"...apparently, in Sander's mind, the better you are, the more you're allowed to cheat haha. If you have less talent you should have to play harder?? Ha.
The call that brought back the kick return was unfortunate, but the blocker just absorbed the defender, wrapped him up and took him down. You have to call that
