Thomas Davis carted off field

The Panthers defense has played well in the Superdome Sunday, but they will finish out the game without the services of starting linebacker Thomas Davis.

Davis was carted off the field in the fourth quarter with a knee injury, and will not return.  It didn’t look pretty.

The Saints took their first lead of the game with under five minutes to go in the fourth quarter and lead 23-20 with under three minutes to go.

Unless you ask Brian Billick, who observed that Thomas Davis just rolled his ankle… even though you can clearly see his knee listing to starboard.

Snatching a nail-biter from the jaws of defeat against a 3-5 Panthers squad? Allowing 176 rushing yards?
Yup, that’s obviously a “championship team” with a “Super-with-a-capital-S defense.”
Or at least that’s what The Worldwide Leader said.

We won. Panthers lost. Panthers would have been 4-4 with a win and alive for a possible playoff run. Now they are on life support and need a near perfect season to get back to the playoffs.
    8-0 is still 8-0.
The Saints may lose this year and may not win the Super Bowl, but you can only talk trash if you are a Colts fan because they are the only other undefeated team in the NFL.
THE SAINTS ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!
    THAT WOULD BE UNDEFEATED!
    8-0 Baby…..
    By the way:
“Yup, that’s obviously a “championship team” with a “Super-with-a-capital-S defense.””
That “Super Defense” that you are disparaging has scored SEVEN touchdowns this year. The Saints DEFENSE has scored more TD’s than two other NFL teams offenses and as many as a third teams offense. I’ll take a defense that is having a few problems stopping the run (with two starters out due to injury) when that defense also scores points like an NFL offense!

given our injuries to both starting DTs and SLB i’ll take a win regardless of yrds….
the real dilemma here is not that we gave up huge yards, whic was expected….but how your qb managed to minimize your offensive production with those yds……
saints D will be ok in 2 wks…and they way they keep putting up tds is superbowlish……
