Of course it is. I’m sure you were in denial about his lack of ability too, until you had no choice. McCarthy’s terrible. McCarthy was extended a few years ago. He probably has a 2 or 3 more years remaining on his contract.
The only way the Packers can afford to fire McCarthy and hire a new head coach would be to hire a rookie head coach who won’t cost them much.

I havent seen a overreaction like your last post since the last time I farted and sat down on wet chair at the same time. Of course Im not happy being 6-10 and Im not happy losing yesterday. This isn’t on Thompson Beer. The things that are occuring are on the coaches. As little as we know it was obvious yesterday that Green Bay was the more talented team by far. They simply kicked the game away with their dumbass ways that havent been corrected. I dont knwo what else to say. You SHOULD be embarrassed, but not for me. Even I know (and again, I’m no financial guru), that most of a team’s profit doesn’t come from tickets. Ted IS costing the team money, and even if that weren’t true, he’s taken a perennial playoff contender and turned it into a joke!
I really hope your uncanny ability to ignore the blatantly obvious and live in denial doesn’t extend to other aspects of your life. Scary.
I already know you don’t mind losing to 0-7 teams, and that you’re perfectly happy being 6-10 every year. There are more important issues at stake though. Again, two more years of your God could quite possibly mean the end of the Green Bay Packers. Is that what you want??

If you like the link, you should go back and read the article. It says the Packers made 19 million in ’07, which dropped to 4 million in ’08. You can’t honestly blame ALL of that on the economy. I personally blame it on Ted showing half of our once-great fanbase the door and doing nothing but watch the team sink to 6-10. Now just imagine how much we’ll make this year after ANOTHER 6-10, and then if he’s still not gone, we’ll probably be firmly in the red in 2011.
I may not be a financial genius, but I can read the writing on the wall. Ted’s philosophy is costing us far more than it’s saving us. You yourself said wins generate revenue. Have you seen any wins lately? Have you not seen half of what were once our fans wearing purple? Does that not affect revenues?
All that article did was further prove my point. Ted must go NOW, or we won’t just be facing mediocrity. We’ll be facing bankruptcy. That’s right. Two more years of Ted could quite possibly mean the end of the Green Bay Packers. Is that what you want??

Lets compare apples to apples, guys….
Since their beginning in 1961, the Vikings have won 17 division titles, appeared in the playoffs 25 years, and played in 8 NFL/NFC Championship games, and appeared in four Super Bowls.
During those same years (1961 – present) the Packers have won 13 division titles, appeared in the playoffs 18 years, played in 6 NFL/NFC Championship games, and appeared in 4 Super Bowls.
Consider in these numbers that the Vikings started in 1961 and it took until 1968 before they won their first Division, while the Packers had been playing since 1919, so 5 of their Division Titles were won while the Vikings were still building a team. So since 1968, the Vikings have won 17 division titles, while the Packers have won only 8. I’d say Vikings fans have had a lot to cheer about the past 40 years. The Super Bowl thing will work itself out with time. Maybe we’ll be there this year. Where will the Packers be?
Btw, the Vikings played some awesome games this year against the Packers………….

Once again, the NFL actually did exist before 1970 whether you believe it or not, and the Packers have twelve championships. Of course, none of that will save them from having yet another losing season THIS year.

From 1992-2008, the answers to these questions come immediately. THIS is the fundamental problem with the team, they have no direction, no focus, and no leader. Aaron Rodgers is NOT the leader of this team. he is the QB, but he is NOT the leader. McCarthy? give me a break. Thompson? Everyone hates him and he can’t decide what he wants this team to be.
Ted Thompson sent the Packers leader, Brett Favre to the Vikings and look at them.
because you Packer fans are dumb, let me explain. The leader is the one who sets the tone, who carries teh team on his back, who wins games for his team in the final minutes, he speaks for the team, takes the heat, doesn’t blame, and inspires every member of his team to greatness.

Observations of the Packers train wreck:
1) Oddity – in two weeks time, the Pack got beat by the oldest, most experienced QB and the youngest, least experienced.
2) Rodgers is a really good QB, and probably the Pack’s QB for the next 10 years, if the line doesn’t get him killed. I’d only put Brady, Brees, P. Manning, ahead of him right now. On par with Rivers and Farve.
3) Who is wearing Greg Jenning’s uni? Freddy Mitchell? Jennings has disappeared this year.
4) GB coaching is horrendous. Played a guy starting his first game ever and made him look great. Played an old QB who couldn’t run and couldn’t get any pressure. Played backups against Jared Allen and didn’t figure out how to get the linemen some help to block him. Twice. QB holding the ball too long all season, with a bad line, and he’s still doing it. Kampman can’t cover anybody, but they keep dropping him into coverage. Where’s the coaching? Where are the adjustments?
