Wildcat strikes again

Despite a full offseason and, more recently, two weeks to prepare for the return of the Wildcat attack to Foxborough, the Patriots have still not solved the gimmick that has become a staple of the Miami offense.

Running back Ronnie Brown capped a 16-play drive, ten-minute drive with a one-yard pass to tight end Joey Haynos for a touchdown.  The drive included eight snaps to players other than starting quarterback Chad Henne.

The extra point gives Miami a one-point lead, 17-16, with fewer than five minutes to play in the fourth Archie third quarter.

I believe you mean the third quarter????

  2. dlew2191 says: November 8, 2009 3:13 PM

    Third, not fourth quarter.

I think you mean third quarter, not fourth.

First Eli quarterbacks the Colts, and now there is less than 5 minutes to go in the 4th quarter, time to hire a proofreader. I listen to you every week on KFAN out of the Twin Cities, love your takes with Paul Allen. If I'm going to be critical, I can give props as well.

    It's only the third quarter

It's a duplicate of Colts-Dolphins earlier this year. As soon as this long Dolphins drive is over, the Patriots throw a long touchdown pass and retake the lead.

They have 18 yards in 8 plays from wildcat Florio. Amazing!

  8. TFBuckFutter says: November 8, 2009 3:20 PM

Roughing the passer goes against New England after an INT.

I hope this will finally shut people the hell up, but I know it won't.

  9. TFBuckFutter says: November 8, 2009 3:22 PM

And now Jerod Mayo is injured.

  10. Nathan says: November 8, 2009 3:23 PM

also you're clearly not watching this game cause the wildcat hasn't done much. yeah he threw for a td but they had the ball on the 1. not that hard.

  11. Bill.Polian says: November 8, 2009 3:27 PM

More like 11 yards on 9 plays now from wildcat. I wonder what containing it looks like Florio?

When something becomes a staple it cannot be called a gimmick

Joey Porter finished with a whopping 0 tackles.

  14. blackglass says: November 8, 2009 4:21 PM

So that means every time Joey Porter talks alot of shit and gets zeros on the stat sheet, it's a staple?

  15. Richm2256 says: November 8, 2009 4:44 PM

I must have seen Brady ask the refs for a call at least 10 times today .... or maybe it was four. Scratch that, upon further review he didn't ask for a single one.

If Joey Porter played as good on the field as he does running his mouth, Brady wouldn't have completed a single pass.

Have we heard the last from Joey Porter now, I hope?

I guess saprono said that the division goes thru the dolphins and he was right they got rolled with their load mouth porter too busy talking and having no impact in the game.

  17. Patsfan1776 says: November 8, 2009 5:40 PM

Brady actually asked how the ref through an offensive pass interference flag on the other side of the field from where the pass was thrown. Of course we didn't get a replay of a penalty until a flag was finally flown against the Dolphins and the commentators wanted to verify if it was justified.

  18. JoeSixPack says: November 8, 2009 5:41 PM

... and they never scored again.

  19. Patsfan1776 says: November 8, 2009 5:42 PM

What happened to the Dolphins at the end of the game??? It was a 10 point game and no timeouts but the Pats need to go into prevent. The Dolphins should have been able to move down the field, either kick the fg or go for a td and then onside kick. Instead they run up the middle and just pass over the middle. How about a hook and lateral down the middle? Looked like they just gave up. I'm happy for my Pats but I expected the game to go to the wire.

Come on Florio, write up the game summary.

Be sure to mention Porter's stats:

ZERO tackles, ZERO hurries, ZERO picks, and ZERO sacks.

Way to go, Porter.. you're full of shit as usual.

Florio, Pats Hater Extraordinare, headlines the Wildcat...Lets see what really was going on, Moss has amazing one handed catch, even the booth guys were excited. Moss shakes of safety and has a catch and run for over 60 yards and TD/ Maroney left his dancing shoes in the locker room and got some "good though" yards. Welker catches two passes between 2 defenders and still gets yacs....Brady has another 300 yard game.....PORTER has ZERO stats and all Florio can lead with is the puzzlement of the Patriots. Oh yeah the Pats won, the wildcat Miami lost.

Yes, thePats solved it (again), and they won the game. You're drunk Florio (and an idiot).

By the way, PAT WHITE SUCKS. A 2nd end, draft choice for that? He couldn't hit a barn with a football from 10 feet.

Joey Porter is another waste. 5M a year for that piss poor performance? Where are all the Fin fans and their loud mouths talking smack how bigmouth Joey was gonna wreak havoc. The only thing that "reeks" is his sucky performance. That douchebag NEVER backs up his big mouth. Tuna should put his foot up his fat ass.

  23. TFBuckFutter says: November 8, 2009 6:54 PM

dancer642, You realize when he posted that, it had JUST HAPPENED, right?

Moss hadn't even had his 71 yard run.

It was a big deal. The Fins had just walked down field to score a second TD using the wildcat.

  24. ampats says: November 8, 2009 8:35 PM

    Joey Porter= ZERO

Keep talking, Joey Zero tells everything about you.

Don't call him Peezy just call him ZERO!!!!!!!!!!!!
