Bears running back Wolfe has lacerated kidney

The Bears announced that reserve running back Garrett Wolfe had a back injury Sunday, but it was far more serious than that.

Wolfe reportedly is believed to have suffered a lacerated kidney.  The injury caused Wolfe to urinate blood at halftime, at which point he was taken to a hospital.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times writes that the injury isn’t believed to be serious long-term, but could knock the core special teams player out for 2-4 weeks.  Wolfe is second among Bears running backs with 22 carries on the season.

Garrett, wish you the best man. Under-sized guy with a big heart. Hope you can get back to finish what’s left in the season.
