Chiefs-Jaguars one-liners

The Chiefs mounted a late comeback but it fell short in a 24-21 loss to the Jaguars.

Chiefs S Mike Brown blamed himself for giving up two big touchdown plays and said he “let the team down.”

WR Chris Chambers caught two touchdown passes in his first game as a member of the Chiefs.

Running backs Jamaal Charles and Kolby Smith did a nice job, but didn’t get many opportunities because the Chiefs were down by so much for most of the game.

Chiefs S DaJuan Morgan had six tackles and a fumble recovery in his first NFL start.

Said Jaguars DL Atiyyah Ellison of holding on for the victory, “There’s no such thing as an ugly victory. Fortunately we got the win. It’ll be ugly tomorrow, but today I’ll take the win.”

The Jaguars got some big plays from rookie skill position players, but rookie tackles Eben Britton and Eugene Monroe had up-and-down days.

The Jaguars switched to a 4-3 alignment for much of Sunday’s victory.

LB Daryl Smith led the Jaguars with eight tackles and added 1.5 sacks as well.

Jaguars RB Greg Jones isn’t normally a member of their “hands” team but he recovered the Chiefs’ second onside kick to help ice the victory.
