This is quite a surprise to me. I’m stunned that Johnson was released with pay. While Johnson has anger management issue he will get a look after clearing waivers. This is one of the best things to happen to Johnsaon as he is allowed to get outta there and start over.
On to football. Haley still is not a very good Head Coach and Pioli doesn’t impress as a personel guy to this point. Do the Chiefs win more after this move? Hell no. If Haley does not start to win games , he to will be following LJ outta town. The difference will be his exit will be with less fanfare and ridicule.

I’m sure the decision to cut him had nothing to do whatsoever with the fact that 1) his production has tanked the past two years. 2) his propensity for committing assault against women (I guess he figured if he couldn’t beat NFL players, women were the next best thing) 3) torching his coaches with ignorant comments. It’s pretty clear that, despite all those things happening before the gay slurs, they didn’t influence the situation at all.
It’s all over the DC radio stations that there’s already been discussions about bringing in LJ.
This doesn’t make any sense to me: LJ isn’t the future for the skins, he’s a stop gap at best. So if they bring in LJ, are they going to cut Portis?? Do they think either Portis or LJ is going to be happy time sharing the HB slot??
LJ has to be praying he clears waivers, because if he does then he can pretty much dictate where he -doesn’t- play (awful teams like Detroit, Skins, Tampa). I’m hoping like hell Detroit puts in a waiver claim, hahahah.

416 carries in 06 was his downfall. That is way too many carries for anybody to get. No RB that has had anywhere close to that number of touches has ever been same after that. Jamal Lewis, Jamal Anderson, Terrell Davis, and James Wilder all had seasons with excessive touches and never recovered their form.

The Packer idiots are all over the map trying to fix their team. If you honestly think LJ is better than Grant you are dumber than we all thought! LJ cannot save the Packers. You could but Peterson behind that mess of a line and it would not help. Unless Larry Johnson can play on the line, or become a GM overnight the issues will be there for a while. Quit embarrasing yourselves even more than you already do on a daily basis and quit reaching for cut players and excuses. Remember, the Chiefs don’t need him so why would you?????????? LJ is just like many players before him that got paid and quit running hard. Brandon Jacobs and Shaun Alexanders are perfect examples of this. LJ is done. Nobody is going to pick up a big contract of a 30 year old RB who was so bad, the freaking Chiefs didn’t want him. Let’s think about that for second: He was so bad the Chiefs cut him!

If a team uses a man to man blocking scheme, LJ will be a good pick up. He did not see the field well with the zone scheme the Chiefs have tried to go with this year. He had success when he ran outside of the tackles but rarely did he do anything inside. He ran hard this year.
He does some good things for fans and kids. He needs to avoid clubbing and attend some charm school but he can continue to do some great things on the field if he joins the right team.
