The Cowboys defense limited big offensive plays from the Eagles en route to a 20-16 victory.
Cowboys QB Tony Romo completed passes to seven different receivers on his way to a 307-yard night.
When he noticed that the Eagles blitzed a safety, Cowboys WR Patrick Crayton changed his route and Romo found him for a 64-yard gain.
Said Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware, “The main thing going into this game was that we needed to gain respect
around the league. It’s all
about gaining respect from the fans and a lot of the other teams, and I
think we gained that tonight.”
WR Roy Williams had one of his best games as a member of the Cowboys with five catches for 75 yards.
Two failed challenges left the Eagles without any timeouts as the clock ticked down in the fourth quarter.
Eagles CB Asante Samuel and T Jason Peters both left the game with injuries and later returned.
Eagles QB Donovan McNabb’s performance was hampered by constant pressure throughout the game.
WR DeSean Jackson only had two catches and the Eagles didn’t get any boost from him in the return game either.
Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News writes that old problems converting in short yardage situations cropped up at the wrong time for the Eagles.
For more on the Cowboys and Eagles, Mike Florio has the full Morning Aftermath right here.
Uh oh Josh, better look for a new job.
“Cowboys QB Tony Romo completed passes to seven different receivers on his way to a 307-yard night. ”
That totally flies in the face of Florio’s “Dallas had a poor passing offensive game” BS from the last post.
Mike, the link at the end of the Cowboys-Eagles one-liners that is supposed to go to your writeup of the Monday Morning Aftermath takes you to Paul Domowitch’s page at the Daily News.

Same thing happened last week. The “Florio” write up was pointed for a while to some other article written by some chick.
11 years and Andy still can’t manage a clock and McNabb still can’t bring a team back in the 4th. I am a huge Eagles fan but I am tired of Reid’s excuses and saying that it’s his fault and he’ll correct it. WHEN?? It’s been 11 years of the same crap. Do the Colts, Steelers or Patriots EVER have these problems?? I love the Vick move too. Man, has he done wonders for this offense. They way he hands the ball off is incredible!! What a pickup. Andy sure does know more than anyone else in the NFL. This team will never win with this regime and it’s killing this long term Eagles fan!!
Assante Samuel is soft.
No surprises there… but it has to be embarrassing when Chris Collinsworth shows a replay of you avoiding contact… not once but twice.
Money well spent there.
I can see him with the Redskins soon!
“Assante Samuel is soft.

It’s kind of like that time Mike Jenkins let the Ravens RB run right by him in for a TD on a game that the Cowboys needed to win to ensure a wildcard spot.
But of course, you don’t remember that, because you’re an ugly troll of a Cowboys fan with the same kind of selective memory that keeps you perpetually in the mid-90′s.
Did that Demarcus Where? guy even play last night?
Refs were awful. I was at the game and missed calls on the big screen are pretty obvious. Not to mention as soon as the Eagles took the lead, all of a sudden the refs flagged them on random plays. And the Cowboys would get extra yards on the spot and the Eagles would constantly be spotted short of the first down. Even the Shady McCoy catch that clearly passed the marker with forward progress was missed on the CHALLENGE! The Ellis Hobbs return that was called back was also BS. The holding was 10-15 yards behind him when he was in open field. Nobody was gonna catch him. The NFL wants to see the Cowboys succeed. I bet the playoff game ratings took a hit last year with the Cowboys missing the postseason. Looks like Jerry Jones’ money can buy wins. The regfs might as well have been wearing Cowboys jerseys.
Granted, the Eagles did several other things to lose the game, like kick the FG on 4th and 11 with 4 mins left and no timeouts. The Eagles were not perfect by any means. But they were good enough to win the game and they got hosed. At least 3 or 4 huge missed calls, stupid flags, and bad ball placement basically handed the Cowboys the game on a silver platter. Disgraceful showing by the refs.
WOW, on every single article that mentions anything about the game last night all I have seen are Eagles fans bitching and moaning about the officiating but none of them seem to mention anything about the blatant holding of Roy Williams in the endzone by Asante Samuel where Dallas had to settle for a FG instead of putting them up by 8 points.
VoxVagina…you are complaining about a holding penalty being called that actually happened??? I don’t get it. And the Eagles actually scored on that drive anyway so I don’t really see what that has to do with the outcome. Also, when McCoy caught the pass he did have the first down and then HE went backwards on HIS own and touched behind the sticks so it was the correct call. Man up and admit that the Eagles got beat at home instead of making petty excuses like the rest of the DBags from Philly…
There were plenty of missed calls on both sides.
Bottom line is that, football players should be playing their asses off, so that 1-2 blown calls doesn’t cost them the game.
You can’t blame those two INT’s McNoob threw, both of which resulted in Dallas scoring points, on the refs.
“It’s kind of like that time Mike Jenkins let the Ravens RB run right by him in for a TD
But of course, you don’t remember that”
Neither do you. It was the Giants. Derrick Ward. Difference being that Jenkins was a rookie and he doesn’t have a $57 million contract. He played better than Samuel did last night… especially after Felix Jones put lipstick and a tutu on Asante Samuel.

You really DO have a vagina!
“But they were good enough to win the game”
No they weren’t.
Hey Ocelot138, get your head out of your ass you bitter Fagles lover….how can you compare a “shutdown” corner with that contract to a rookie CB?
Samuels IS soft….along with the rest of the Fagles.
20-16…5 rings
what?
Where you at Quagmire?!
Giggity goo!
VoxVeritas-
LMFAO@Ocelots profile….thank you for that.
Excuse me while I dry the piss from my pants.
A sickening display by McNabb. The only bright spot was knowing Dallas didn’t bury us and looked pretty bad themselves.
At this point I’m just waiting for the Kolb era to begin.
Section 111 and 110. Many Dallas fans ejected for being idiots. Specifically the fat black guy with all the fake bling and two equally fat and plastic chest inflated women. One actually looked like a bloated Ru Paul.
They were sitting where the players usually get their tickets. So some turd from Dallas actually is banging one of them, or maybe just the dude.
Look, D-mac came out flat like in the skins game. he was trowing high and low, Not where the ball needed to be. The Running game was good and we did get some shady spots. Esp on that QB Sneak. Everyone I talked to wonders how a big guy like Donnie can dive forward two feet and pick up negative yards?? Yeah that was the only call that i was fired up over. The Holding on the Kick return was a hold just as the Asante hold in the EZ. I will extend a warm congrats to the cowboys for sneaking that one away from us in NOVEMBER. However the Eagles will plan on getting you back in DECEMBER when the Losses hurt the most….
ROTFL. Once again the eagles and their fans declare themselves the best team in the division and when they had the chance to take the lead in the division choke AGAIN.
“Even the Shady McCoy catch that clearly passed the marker with forward progress was missed on the CHALLENGE”
He ran a comeback route and on slow-motion high definition replay broadcast all over the nation, millions saw him come back on his own and not get touched before he was down 1-2 yards short of the first down. Congratulations on losing any credibility so early in your post.
“The Ellis Hobbs return that was called back was also BS. The holding was 10-15 yards behind him when he was in open field. Nobody was gonna catch him”
HAHAHA Hilarious. Since when does it matter where the holding is? Holding is holding genius. And actually the holding was far in FRONT of the runner, so again…you clearly have NO idea what you’re talking about, either that or just listening to the game on Eagle’s radio because you’re too broke to afford a working t.v.
“The Eagles were not perfect by any means. But they were good enough to win the game”
Funny, I didn’t see them play well enough to win that game. I’m guessing you thought they played good enough to win the Raider’s game, too. Typical Philly bullshit. McNabb was barely 50%, for more INT’s than TDs. PHI averaged less than 4.0 on the ground, while giving up 4 sacks and 300+ through the air. Yeah, thats real good. Keep it up. Idiot
jreed…..finally a Philly fan that calls it real…..agree w/ur calls….Eagles got hosed on thu spot…..however Dallas got equally hosed on the interference call in the end zone….looking 4ward 2 thu re-match……
“A sickening display by McNabb. The only bright spot was knowing Dallas didn’t bury us and looked pretty bad themselves. ”
How did the Cowboys look bad to you?
Was it the 358 yards of offense? The 47% third down conversion percentage? The 5.9 yards per offensive play? Or was it the 4 sacks of McNabb with a very basic pass rushing scheme?
Once again I will try to be a voice of reason for the Eagles….
OK, the officiating was bad BOTH WAYS!
Though the review on the spot was questionable, it shouldn’t have come to that. You have a 250-260 lb full back and you give it to an open field runner on short yardage. I’m so sick of the play calling. Jackson is the best play maker on the field and they only get the ball to him twice. Give him running plays and wide receiver screens.
As for Asante Samuel, he is a buck seventy soaken wet, he is not going to be a big tackler, but he makes plays..it takes guts for Cowboys fans to criticize him when Deion Sanders played for them and he was the biggest pussy I’ve ever seen. Now I’m not saying Asante is as good as Deion but he was a pussy
Lastly, I was so pissed after this game because let’s face it I’m an Eagles fan and I hate the Cowboys. I know the Cowboys fans are crowing, but what made me feel better is knowing that the Cowboys have been in this position in November ever since Romo has been there. But December is right around the corner and we all know what happens next
