This week, Thursday Night Football returns to NFL Network (and to Sprint wireless handsets equipped with NFL Mobile Live, which we’re mentioning because Sprint is our official telecommunications partner).
And given the proximity of the game, the NFL has required the two teams involved — the Bears and 49ers — to submit injury reports on Monday, the day after each team played games.
But there’s a problem. Neither team practiced on Monday.
So they submitted estimated reports based on what would have happened if practice had actually, you know, occurred.
So safety Al Afalava (shoulder), safety Kevin Payne (back), and running back Garrett Wolfe (back) would not have participated in practice for the Bears, if there had actually been practice. And tight end Desmond Clark (neck), defensive tackle Tommie Harris (knee), and cornerback Charles Tillman (shoulder) would have participated in practice on a limited basis, if there had been practice.
For the 49ers, safety Michael Lewis (quadricep), running back Michael Robinson (shoulder), defensive end Justin Smith (not injury related), linebacker Takeo Spikes (shoulder), and safety Curtis Taylor (shin) would have missed practice if there had been practice. Tight end Vernon Davis (shoulder), receiver Jason Hill (ankle), and tight end Delanie Walker (shin, knee) would have practiced on a limited basis. Guard David Baas (shoulder), cornerback Tarell Brown (rib), and running back Frank Gore (eye lid) would have fully participated in practice.
The only certainty are the players who won’t play. Rosenthal previously posted those lists.
Another report based on actual practice sessions will be issued on Tuesday and Wednesday.
I HATE the fact that the NFLN took the Thursday night game away from ESPN.
There really is no good reason to be subscribing to that channel.

Actually, the Thursday Night games, might be 1 good reason to subscribe, it might also be the only reason, lol
Yes there is. If you’re a Niners or Bears fan you get to see the game
Yeah. Drop ESPN.
Why are you acting like this is something new for some reason.
Act like you’ve been here before son.
Besides the fact that NFLN has the best pre and post studio shows hands down?
Screw ESPN and their shiny happy announcers where every player, coach, and play is “great” or “terrific” or “stimulating”. I think you just wanna look at Jon Gruden’s package twinkletoes.
There’s red grapes and there’s red wine. There’s green grapes but how come there’s no green wine? Weeeeiiiiiiiirrrrrrd!

Um, ESPN never EVER EVER had a Thursday night game for NFLN to take.
Unless I missed it at some point in my 31 years.
ESPN is the worst network on TV. Unless you are a fan of the Yankees, Red Sox, Pats, Giants, Celtics or Lakers, and last but not least the God Almighty SEC, there’s reason to watch ESPN.
And Really? I dont know who calls the games on NFLN now but it can not be real easy watching Alex Smith play against the horrible Chi defense, while listening to Sam Wyche and Jaimie Dukes call a football game. I recomend going to your local Fox sports programming and watching Basketball or Hockey. You’ll know by Sunday how Jay Cutler and Matt Forte did for your Fantasy football team.

Hey nhuskerjj you left off so called “Americas Team” Dallas Cowgirls what would ESPN be without a Romo update?
