All these idiots who post about how bad the Pack would be with Brett. They talk about the lack of O-line,and a running back, but if I recall correctly that running back was awesome and deserved a big contract after his 1 season with Brett as his QB,and this is pretty much the same O-line people that Favre had in 2007.
Hey Adam Chris
I bet coach Mike will be a hot commodity when he leaves GB,I mean that impressive resume that he has.
-----------------------------
Right, that was exactly my point--that McCarthy is the end-all-be-all of NFL head coaches.. Yeah. A guy who can't figure out how to mask the deficiences in his O-line in half a season. Yep, he's terrific.
Read the posts and stop putting words in my mouth.
And now about your hint that this would be a much better team with Favre... Lay off the jimson weed. I can remember one season when Favre wasn't getting a lot of support. 2005. And we all know how well Brett carried the team that year.
Let it go. Favre wanted out of Green Bay and he got it. Ted Thompson did not have a diabolical plan to get Favre out of Green Bay and he didn't force Favre's retirement.

Now...pull your head out of your ass so we can all unite in turning this season around. Or, wish for losses which is a loser mentality. Your reply to this will tell if you have a loser mentality by mailing it in at 4-4 or have some dignity and pride and winner left in you to say LETS GET IT DONE. Its your call.
PS All of us packer fans had a chacne to buy "shares" dirt cheap with no benefits. Some fell for it. Some didn't. You claim you support your team because you area owner. Hey Majik Man.
I completly agree I used to consider myself amongst the greatest fans in the world. Which don't mean blind alegiance to the laundry, blind alegiance makes you ignorant. It don't mean that when the greatest player in your teams history plays somewhere else you treat him worse than you ever treated any other opponent. It doesn't mean to cheer for Brett Favre wherever he goes makes you any less a Packers fan. I never considered myself anything but a Packers fan, but I do also consider myself a fan of Brett. I am also a fan of Johnny Unitas, Chad Ochocinco,Hines Ward, that does not make me any less a Packer fan, but after watching the fans of the Packers in majority boo Brett Favre I also wonder how do I put myself in such a STUPID,IGNORANT,DISRESPECTFUL bunch of people who will soon be crying and whining about how terrible the situation is that they have helped create. I can not associate with such low-lifes. The old saying is true. Lay down with dogs you will get fleas. So enjoy the fleas low lifes, cause I ain't layin down with those dogs( TED AND MIKE)

Ultimately, my intention was to point out that Minnesota has not played anyone and when they did, they lost. So seeing as you did not catch that, I would have to say your post is "useless". Next time I will try being a little more black and white for you. They have been tested in one game to date and did not come away victorious. What happens when you do that in the playoffs?
There is still half the season left and I am sorry the Bucs arent in there...could have been one more 1-7 team to add to that resume.
Ill take those easy wins and stay as healthy as possible. Favre and offense seems to be getting better every week as well. When push comes to shove I will take Favre's years of experience over Bree's in the playoffs any day! Still alot of football left and I dont see any flawless teams out there so who can predict anything at this point.

footballrulz
The only dim witted bullshit around here is your undaunted allegiance to Ted Thompson. Even if you say you don't like him, you're still supporting him and his failings by blindly supporting his band of misfits. Choosing to cheer for Favre doesn't make me a fair weather fan, it just means that I have the ability to think for myself, and I don't need to support an egomaniac led team like a mindless zombie. I'm not jumping on a bandwagon, I've always rooted for Favre, whether his team went 4-12, or 12-4.
As far as who I will cheer for when Favre finally does hang it up, I don't know anymore. I always believed that I would go back to the Pack, seeing as how Thompson and McCarthy will likely be out of the league before Favre. But after reading posts by the majority of Packer fans on here (not you in particular, you actually seem to have a brain), I don't think I want to be included in such a group of mindless neanderthals. Most of your brethren show a level of ignorance that knows no bounds, and I'm not so sure I want to be part of an undeniably ignorant fan base.
Like I said before, it's not all of you, but there are a lot more Bob Nelsons, Supersuckers, and packer4life's out there than there are footballrulz and BeerCheeseSoups. I mean, read the previous posts, Pack fans are arguing with each other on here. I think maybe I'll just root for Tebow next year, wherever he ends up.

I will grant you though that Chilly's stature in the coaching world has changed, for now. Story to be continued later. Can't argue that he's hit on some draft picks & FA trades. Gotta give him that---

All yall get on here and bash Green Bay and lesser teams as though your team cant do anything wrong. I said in a round about way that Minnesota is not as good as New Orleans and they are second rate compared to them. Leave it to the cool and awesome football fans who troll these message boards to blow it out of proportion and take it to a whole new level.

Sherman was considered pretty sharp, maybe not genius. I'm not saying it is a hard and fast rule, just funny the way Favre has seemingly defined these rookie coaches' early careers.
------------------------------
I guess that's why he's such a hot commodity in NFL head coaching circles, right?
------------------------------
Manbearpig says:
November 9, 2009 3:45 PM
And how about Mike Holmgren? And that Gruden guy who was Favre's qb coach?
-----------------------------
What about Andy Reid? What about Steve Mariucci? Are you saying Brett Favre made Andy Reid, Steve Mariucci, Mike Holmgren and Mike McCarthy? Is that your angle?
------------------------------
Manbearpig says:

You make my point with the Glanville reference. Trading Favre is considered one of the worst personnel moves ever, up there with the Leaf over Manning draft choice, IMHO.

That makes your point? Hardly. Jerry Glanville did well to get what he did for Favre. At the time Glanville traded him, Favre was a shiftless drunk loser. There's no reason to think he would've amounted to anything else if he had stayed in Atlanta. He certainly wasn't endearing himself to his coaches.
Hindsight's 20/20, though. Glanville probably bragged about the trade immediately afterwards. Interview him now and he says he always knew Favre would be special. Right, Jerry. That's why you sent him packing. The truth is Favre looked like a shit player and a bust when Jerry sent him away.

Sherman was considered pretty sharp, maybe not genius. I’m not saying it is a hard and fast rule, just funny the way Favre has seemingly defined these rookie coaches’ early careers.
——————————
I guess that’s why he’s such a hot commodity in NFL head coaching circles, right?
You make great ASSUMPTIONS about your team but we wont know until they play. They may do all those things but last time I checked the only thing that matters is the final score.
Here man I'm passing that la la back at ya. Seems as though you Vikings fans cant get enough.

I don't understand why Packers fans continue this illusion that their team is talented. It clearly isn't. They are talented at cornerback, wide receiver, and arguably QB (I personally think that Rodgers is a good QB though his play has been falling off as this season progresses).
But there are other positions. Linebacker, Defensive line, offensive line, and running back. They are terrible at those positions. Barely any talent. Tight end they are average. Safety they are average or just below.
They aren't very talented overall. They aren't particularly well coached. They lack veteran leadership. Ted Thompson has got to go.

There is still half the season left and I am sorry the Bucs arent in there...could have been one more 1-7 team to add to that resume.

Hey Professor,
Your name must be like when you call a fat guy Slim or a tall guy Shorty, cause you are an idiot. Ted Thompson could have gotten Randy Moss for a 5th round pick. Ted ran the best Quaterback in the NFC North out of town. Ted has wasted picks on Justin Harrell and 6 offensive line-man in the three years that he had Favre. He drafted Terrence Murphy,Craig Bragg,Greg Jennings,Ingle Martin,Brandon Jackson,James Jones,David Clowney,Korey Hall, and DeShawn Wynn to help Favre out in those three years. So 5 are still on the team and only 2 are contributing anything(although Hall contributes very little on offense). So Proffesor your ignorance about why the Pack is so bad is obvious. Ted Thompson in his efforts to run Brett Favre out of Green Bay has made sure the team will be in irrelavance by the end of next season. Being a proud Packer fan is a oxymoron right now. There is nothing to be proud of as made obvious by the Packer fans comments that have shifted from Football descussions to personal attacks on the opposing fans. My what a difference 1 1/2 seasons make. Let me explain what I mean by that. We don't need Brett, to wait till he starts throwing INT'S at the end of the seasons. They have started hating Favre because they are fully aware that he still had alot left in the Tank.

You are one incerdible asshat!
If you honestly think you have a say in the running of that franchise....I feel sorry for you.
Funniest thing i ever saw was the " stockholders" semanding Favre be brought back .
Only in Wisconsin could that be pulled off.
Great marketing ploy though!
I about piss myself eveytime one of you say Packer fan and shareholder here.
You may as well say packer fan with Monopoly money, it amounts to the same thing.
The Board of directors is the sole guiding force of that franchise.
If you think you elected them, you are in for a suprise.
You fans have nothing to do with the running of or the day to day operations of the Packers.
I know Super, he isn't nuts, well, not completely.
Watch the George Brett vid tho...freaking funny!!

Once you get past the hatred and name calling (what is this? A GOP anti-Obama spin off site?), the main point is that even with Brett, GB would not be any better off. He would have been scrambling to save his life and trying to throw passes into key holes. The Vikes have a much better OF line and that is that. They have a stud running back..that is that. The Pack has none of that. Now, we seem to forget that outside of Brett's brilliant 13-3 season, lost because he tried to thread a needle in OT (just like always) the years before that were not so good. The reason he left was that he just didn't think he had to come to spring training. Didn't want to do that. That is why he signed late with the Jets and with the Vikes. Plain and simple. The Pack got tired of waiting for him to make up his mind.
Now that doesn't take away the poor execution of the McMeely coaching. I was not in favor of this guy when he got hired. I was not in favor of TT either. This is where the blame lies...the top evaluator-in-chief and the head coach. Not all that capable of things.
McMeely insists on a verticel game and right now with his OF line, it needs to go horizontal till they stop rushing the QB.
Aaron Rodgers can be the successor here but blaming him for all of this like blaming the iceberg that sunk the Titanic. He is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Complaining about the long time he holds the ball isn't really his fault entirely when he is running for his life each play. If he could dump the ball off then he would have a chance but who is going to catch it for him? Ryan "ironhands" Grant? Maybe Ahmen can help till he gets hurt. Use Koon more? Perhaps but that will get figured out and then what?
The entire OF package needs an update and the DF 3-4 just isn't the package for GB.
So c'mon guys, let's stick to real football, save your name calling for the news and come up with something intelligent. Or maybe that is all most of you are capable of...complaining with no solutions...just like the GOP...HAH

OK tetrahydrocannabinol 4ever,explains that numb brain you got. Do you have CROATOAN tattooed on that over sized forehead ?( sure you won't get that one Chong.)
Are you lost, bored, stoned or both? Thanks for the scores, very genius. Mad cuz the Saints get to steamroller(giggle now tool, stoner reference) you guys soon? I honor the Saints as a very good team. They have some holes though, let me be blunt(giggle again stoner) Saints have 10 turnovers in 3 games. Panthers rushed on them. Vikings have the better trench fighters on O and D line. We will run on them. Favre will pass on them. Our big bodies can wear them out. People who say Vikes couldn't compete with the Saints are just haters. We score, they score. May be a shoot out.

TCH4ever says: The road to the Super Bowl will be through New Orleans and there is absolutely no way the Vikes will beat them. “Great team” one might say…as for me im going with overrated.
————————————————–
OK tetrahydrocannabinol 4ever,explains that numb brain you got. Do you have CROATOAN tattooed on that over sized forehead ?( sure you won’t get that one Chong.)
People who say Vikes couldn’t compete with the Saints are just haters. We score, they score. May be a shoot out. Don't think anyone's lauding Chilly as a genius. Favre maybe, but not Chilly.
I will say this-if he is responsible for your draft picks--he's damn good at that.

OK, but Mike Sherman had Favre and he was never considered a genius. Ray Rhodes had Favre and he was never a genius. Don't even make me bring up this guy: http://mandatemedia.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/jerry_glanville.jpg
Sherman was considered pretty sharp, maybe not genius. I'm not saying it is a hard and fast rule, just funny the way Favre has seemingly defined these rookie coaches' early careers.
And how about Mike Holmgren? And that Gruden guy who was Favre's qb coach?
You make my point with the Glanville reference. Trading Favre is considered one of the worst personnel moves ever, up there with the Leaf over Manning draft choice, IMHO.

@ Adam
Yeah, you'd hope we learned something from that whole Favre fiasco.
_______________________________
Damn, did we play the Vikes yesterday? I thought that was last week. Oh, I forgot, there was no Vikes game this week. So now we gotta hear all this same ol bullshit again.
WE GOT IT
WE SUCK
WE NEED CHANGES
I can assure you this. I will continue to pull for the Packers regardless of who is at QB or any other position. I am no fair weather fan. Yes, our GM & HC SUCK and since there is no owner in GB it may take a while for change but bet your ass I'll be right here pulling for them long after the new Saviour in MN is back riding his tractor in Mississippi counting his well earned millions. It was like a punch in the gut watching him drive out of that parking lot--but I root for the laundry, not the player. I am no fair weather fan.`
Actually I think those who switch allegiance like underwear would be embarrassed to come in here and post their dim witted bullshit. Fan_of_Four, Majik Man--you listening. (Creds for admitting it at least). It's easy to pull for a winner isn't it. What noise were you singing last year. Were you flying the mighty green & white flags of the Jets? Who you gonna pull for when Favre finally does retire? Or will you just dry up & fade away? Fair weather fans. Lambeau smelled like new jersey's & hats last week thanx to all the new Vike fans. Personally, I think any ticketholder that sold their ticket last week should be banned for life but when you look at the prices they were getting--hard to say no.
If you're a long time Vike fan I'm glad for ya. Hope Favre takes you far. You've got one hell of a team there.
If you're a Favre fan who is now a Vike fan--I hope he throws an INT in overtime of the NFC Championship game. He's good at it, believe me, I know. You see, I'm a Packer fan. You used to be...Don't come back when the gravy train's done.

TCH4ever says: November 9, 2009 2:38 PM
Just to stir the pot, lets take a stroll down memory lane here Vikings fans...
___________________
Incredibly useless post. The Vikings are 7-1. They have defeated everyone they were supposed to, and the only loss was to the defending champs, in their house, in a game that went down to the wire.
Their average margin of victory is over 11 points per win. The slate of teams hasn't been impressive, but they didn't make the schedule.
But if you want to use your logic, the Saints' opponents have a combined record of 29-36, which isn't terribly impressive. The Colts' opponents have a combined 26-39 record, so I guess they must both be overrated as well.
Just be happy your team got a win this year, and also be thankful you don't have to play the Tuskers.
