Five touchdown passes in a 41-21 win in Chicago were enough to earn Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner the NFC offensive player of the week award.
The five touchdowns came a week after Warner threw five interceptions in a loss to the Carolina Panthers. He was the first quarterback since Gary Danielson to engineer such a one-week turnaround.
Warner was also the first Cardinals quarterback to throw five touchdown passes in a game since Charley Johnson in 1969. The five touchdowns tied a career high that Warner previously set on October 10, 1999 against the 49ers. Warner led the Rams to a Super Bowl title that year; he also had a five-touchdown game against the Vikings in that season's playoffs.
The award is Warner's eighth career player of the week honor. He's won four of those eight with the Cardinals.
