I’d go with Schefter on this one. The Texans already have a relatively big, upright RB that runs with no power whatsoever: Chris Brown.
If the Texans really want a RB there are better free agents out there.

LaCanfora is no Schefter – NFLN did itself a disservice by letting Adam go. I’ll buy what Schefter says over Jason any day – LaCanfora said Andre Smith would be a huge factor for the Bengals last week. He was inactive for the game, Mr. Information!
As far as LJ is concerned, the last thing a young inconsistent team like Houston needs is a locker room cancer. See Shaun Alexander regarding what happens to an aging RB who’s lost a step and has an attitude problem. Shaun didn’t have the off-field issues like LJ, but my instinct says Larry doesn’t get a sniff unless a playoff contender loses a starter.
