Steelers-Broncos one-liners

QB Ben Roethlisberger threw three touchdowns in the second half and the Steelers walked out of Mile High Stadium with a 28-10 victory.

Ron Cook of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette thinks that if the Steelers win the AFC North, they will remember a four-play, 80-yard drive Roethlisberger led in the third quarter as a highlight of the season.

The Steelers defense held the Broncos in check all night, with two interceptions by S Tyrone Carter and two sacks by DE Brett Keisel leading the way.

Said Steelers WR Hines Ward of RB Rashard Mendenhall, who ran for 155 yards, "I don't think he realizes how good he can be. He's a special back."

Steelers S Troy Polamalu appears to be fully recovered from the knee injury that limited him in the first half of the season.

Said Broncos QB Kyle Orton of the rough offensive night, "As a quarterback, I put it on myself. It's my offense, and I'll get it back on track."

The Broncos defense gave up 321 yards in the second half after allowing only 54 in the first two quarters.

The Broncos offensive line struggled to protect Orton and also couldn't open up holes for a running attack that resulted in a season-low 27 yards.

Broncos DE Robert Ayers scored their only touchdown of the night on a 54-yard fumble recovery after DE Kenny Peterson sacked Roethlisberger.

Woody Paige of the Denver Post has some harsh words for Broncos ticket holders who sold their seats to Steelers fans.

    READ THIS STEELER FANS!!!!!

You are all overconfident coming off the SB Win vs a 9-7 team, in a playoff run in which Brady was out, the Chargers knocked off Manning, and in which you beat a ROOKIE QB in the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!

rydendonkeys-would you shut up already. The Steelers don't control who they play. They won the superbowl get over it dude. Don't you get sick of making an a$$ of your self for the stupid comments you make? Where was your team at?

I'm not taking anything away from the SB Win, just saying, the Steelers are not as good as you think they are.

In the Steelers 2 losses, the defense did NOT score a touchdown, and both games were vs top 10 QBs that did not turn the ball over.

The Steeler D forces alot of turnovers with non stop pressure from alot of angles, but if a QB can make quick decisions and be accurate, they will beat the Steelers. Manning, Brady, Palmer, and a rejuvenated Chargers behind Rivers can and will beat the Steelers.

The officiating crew on Monday night gave the Steelers a huge advantage.

Before I have to hear the Steeler nation come the blind rescue of their beloved team, I do not think the calls would have won the game for Denver. You could have given Kyle Orton the ball all game and the Steelers would have still found a way to win.

Elvis Dumervil was held multiple times and ironically they showed a replay to congratulate Starks on containing him and all you could see was his hands up in Dumervil's face.

The refs missed two delay of game calls that resulted in first downs.

The final challenge was a fumble, it was so painfully obvious the Mendhenhall lost control of the ball before he was down.

This however is nothing new if you're a Steelers fan. Dating back to the Seahawks Super Bowl match up. Ben Roethlisberger had the biggest non touchdown I've ever seen scored.

Earlier this year the Steelers only went 9 yards from 1st down on, and got the first.

Coincidence? Of course. Annoying? Damn right.
