PFTV's Week Ten game of the week, part one

Sure, there are a couple of stinkers on the Week Ten slate of games.

But there are a couple of potential classics, too.

The most obvious?  Patriots at Colts, on Sunday night.  (On NBC.)

With full recognition that we won’t add much to what others already have said but with full appreciation that some of you are so geeked up for this one that you’ll soak up anything anyone has to say about it, here’s PFTV’s take.

Mmmm..besides your obvious man-crush on all things Patriots and Colts, what is at stake in this game? On the other hand, how isthe Steelers vs. Bengals not the game of the week? Seriously, only first-place in the toughest division in football is what’s on the line, that’s all. Last time I checked, this is just an interconference game that probably won’t even have an affect on home-field advantage.
    Give me a break….

    Hey “getlikeme”
don’t know how/where you conjecture that this game would “probably not have an “affect” on home field advantage?
Let’s see. Patriots are 6-2, Colts 8-0, if Pats Win, they are only one game apart with 7 more to go in the season, and could VERY well end up tied in the AFC for the best over-all record when it is all said and done.
Inter-Divisional games are not the only important games in football.
Pitt-Cincy is a very compelling game which I want to see, but sorry – Pats-Colts will PROBABLY determine who has home-field throughout the playoffs.

The only thing that will be evident from this game between pretenders, neither of which have played any good teams so far this season, is which is the BIGGEST pretender.

Wonder who part two is gonna be….?

    Steelers/Bengals over Pats/Colts???
Only Steelers fans would think that. Pats/Colts is NFL football at its best, two awesome teams that always pound it out. Bengals = tryptophan
    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
olcap, tell me; which team has played good teams this season and shown you something? I’d like to hear it.

How unbiased o0f you ? It just so happens to be on NBC. Actually, I agree it s/b one iof the better. I’d say Dallas@GB s/b a good game, too. How about Pitt/Cinci ? The network that got the stinker is hee-hee-espn . Baltimo @ Cleveland ! ha-ha !

I am most intrigued over the Steeler Bengals game?
I think this one is going to fun to watch!
    SKol Vikings
    vikings 55
    Lions 10

Rich……. Hmmmmm, The Bengals beat the Steelers, Ravens twice, and demolished the Bears and Packers
Steelers are coming off a DRUBBING of the Broncos at home, beat the vikings, and beat the Chargers
That good enough for ya? This is the better matchup, best division in NFL, two best teams play for first place in the division, and this will go further to decide homefield advanatge the Brady v. Manning. The Bengals have beat better teams by themselves than the Colts or Patriots, I don’t want to hear about the Dolphins either , that’s drivel. I’ll give the Colts credit for the Texans and Cardinals, nothing else noteworthy though. Patriots get credit for the Falcon and Ravens.
By my count Steelers and Bengals have combined to beat eight at least decent teams, Colts and Pats? Four combined…..

Definitely the Cincy v. Pitt game. It’s too early to talk about home field advantage, but not too early to talk about division winners. If Cincy wins on Sunday, man, watch out. Who Dey!

You obviously get your information from a small child who hasn’t watched any games THIS year. Everyone was calling the Bengals; “The Cardiac Cats” for their dramatic finishes in the first several games this year. How can you say they are a sedative found in turkey?

Look at the history of the Colts and Pats regular season games and the playoff implications they had when they did face one another in January…the winner always hosted the game and the winner of that game (home team) went on to win the SB…
So yes, this does have playoff implications. Just about every damn game does since there are only 16 each year. It’s Nov and it’s not too early to talk about home field advantage. The winner of the Bengals and Steelers for instance will more than likely win the division thus giving at least one home playoff game where the other will be on the road.
Regarding the Pats and Colts two of the greatest passers in league history have always squared off for instant classics.
The Bengals are an upstart team this year, but pale in comparison with the battles the Pats and Colts put on each year, sans last year with no Brady.
Why can’t some of you tools just appreciate there are two great games right there this Sunday to watch, and they are not on the same time.
As an NFL fan you should be friggin’ frothing at the mouth, not arguing with Florio’s opinion of what game is dubbed ‘Game of the Week’.
OK so I submit as a Pats fan…the Steelers/Cats game is the bigger one, feel better?
I’m just happy there is a couple of decent games on this week, as most of the others look to be stinkers.

Hey Brocato, address Florio when you ask your followup and not the camera… like you are asking me. This has driven me NUTS for a looong time. I’m no camera guy but shouldn’t the shot pan out to studio while you are asking MIKE, not me, the followup??
Something is not right here and I think Mike is starting to get it after the appearances on national tv. He’s at least addressing you sometimes, even if it is closeup.

  13. Brohamma says: Nov 12, 2009 2:06 PM

Sheesh! Even the the people writing the schedule realize what a matchup the Pats vs Colts is.
Face it, Red Sox vs Yankees = ratings, Celtics vs Lakers/Clevland = ratings and Pats vs Colts = ratings. Bruins vs Canadians too.. but not in comparison to the previous 3.
Bungles vs Pitt.. doesnt really matter neither will win this year.

  14. CurseofBoJackson says: Nov 12, 2009 2:33 PM

Bengals and Steelers have more balanced teams, better run games, better defenses, adntherefore are more prepared to make a run, good try though.
footballnut – ok, my opinion is biased, adn I am happy to be able to watch two really great games, albeit four hours apart. It’s not that I think Brady manning is boring, I just see Cincy Pitt as a better game.

  15. footballnut says: Nov 12, 2009 3:39 PM

Indy and NE have the #1 and #2 scoring D’s…just an FYI.
Agree with the better running games though…Indy has lost theirs and NE is still searching for Dillon part 2.
